Our Raised Panel Bits produce beautiful door panels in four styles.
Before you make your first cut, a few words of caution: T
T
These bits can remove a great deal of stock in a single pass, but
ime!.
it's neither safe nor productive to push them to the limit. Make several
passes, cutting a little deeper each time. Besides the obvious safety
factor, you'll produce much better panels!
Step #1: Cut your panel to finish size. If your rails and stiles are 2-1/4"
wide, the panel should be about 3-7/8” narrower and 3-3/4” shorter than
the finished door dimensions.
Step #2: Set up your panel-raising bit as shown. The tongue of the finished panel should slip easily into the groove in your door rails and
stiles. Don't make your panel so tight you must force it into the groove,
and never glue your panels into the frame.
