OPERATION MANUAL

Thank you for buying this JB Systems product. To take full advantage of all
possibilities, please read these operating instructions very carefully.

FEATURES

y Easy to use 4channel dedicated DMX controller for iColor-4 color mixer

o Hold: Instant access of 9 preprogrammed colors.
o Static Chase: 12 different chase patterns with user selectable speed
o Sound Chase: 12 different chase patterns with audio triggering
o Spectrum Mix: 32 different spectrum mix colors, including color fade.

BEFORE USE

Check the contents:

Check that the carton contains the following items:

1. CA-32 Colormix controller

2. AC/DC adapter

3. Operating instructions

Some important instructions:

• To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.

• In order to prevent electric shock, do not open the cover. If a problem occurs, contact

your dealer.

• Don’t place metal objects or spill liquid inside the unit. Electric shock or malfunction
may result.

• Prevent use in dusty environments, clean the unit regularly.

MAINTENANCE

Clean by wiping with a polished cloth slightly dipped with water. Avoid getting water
inside the unit. Do not use volatile liquids such as benzene or thinner which will
damage the unit.

FUNCTIONS (FRONT)

1. HOLD COLORS BUTTONS: Hold button (2) is active, you can use these buttons

to easily select one of the 9 preprogrammed colors.

2. HOLD MODE BUTTON: Used to select the “hold colors” mode, refer to (1) for

more information.

3. CHASE MODE BUTTON: Used select the chase mode. The connected i-Color4

projector will show different preprogrammed chase patterns. These different
patterns can be selected with chase fader(5). There are two different chase modes:

• Static Chase: This is the standard chase mode where you can adjust the

chase speed yourself with the Speed fader(6).

• Sound Chase: You can also use the Sound button(8) to make the chase

patterns work to the rhythm of the music.

4. SPECTRUM MIX MODE BUTTON: In spectrum mix mode the spectrum mix

fader(5) is used to select one of the 32 spectrum mix colors.

5. CHASE/SPECTRUM MIX FADER: The function of this fader depends on the
selected user mode:

• Hold mode: the fader is not used.

• Chase mode: the fader is used to select one of the preprogrammed chase

patterns. Refer to the text on the left side of the fader to make your choice.

• Spectrum mix mode: the fader is used to select one of the 32

preprogrammed spectrum mix colors. Refer to the text on the right side of the
fader to make your choice.

Important remark:

There’s also a function called “color fade” which is very

nice for “background lighting” applications. Select this function to fade gently
from one color to another. You can adjust the fade over time with the fade
fader(6).

6. SPEED/FADE SLIDER: The function of this fader also depends on the selected
user mode:

• Hold mode: the fader is not used.

• Chase mode: the fader is used to select the chaser speed in a range from

0.1seconds to 2.5seconds.

• Spectrum mix mode: When you select the function “color fade” on the

spectrum mix fader(5), you can adjust the fade time between colors in a range
from 2.5seconds to 12seconds.

7. MASTER SLIDER: Used to adjust the overall light output of the iColor4. You obtain

maximum light out put when this fader is closed. The light is off when the fader is
up.

8. SOUND BUTTON: In chase mode, press this button to make the patterns move to

the rhythm of the music. The CA-32 has a built-in microphone so there’s no need
to connect an external music signal.

9. FULL ON BUTTON: At any time, even in blackout(10), you can use this button to

set all lamps of the iColor4 to maximum output. This produces a strong, white light.

10. BLACKOUT BUTTON: Used to set the iColor4 in blackout mode: when pressed

the lamps will slowly fade down to zero.

FUNCTIONS (rear)

11. POWER SWITCH: Used to switch the unit ON/OFF

12. DC INPUT: connect the supplied AC/DC adapter to this input. If you should use

another adapter, please make sure that it has 9Vdc and minimum 300mA with + in
the center.

13. FOOT CONTROL INPUT: Used to connect an optional CA-32F foot controller. This

foot controller makes it possible to access most of the CA-32 functions using 4 foot
switches.

14. DMX OUTPUT: Sends DMX-signals to the connected iColor projectors.

CONNECTIONS

Set dipswitch10 on all connected iColor units to OFF for DMX control!

Remark: Connecting the CA-32F is optional and not needed to make the CA-32 work as described in
this manual.

MODE D’EMPLOI

Nous vous remercions d’avoir acheté ce produit JB Systems. Veuillez lire ce mode
d’emploi très attentivement afin de pouvoir exploiter toutes les possibilités de cet
appareil.

CARACTERISTIQUES

• Contrôleur DMX à 4 couleurs, facile à utiliser, spécialement conçu pour le mélangeur
de couleur iColor-4

• 4 modes d’utilisation différents:

o Hold: accès instantané aux 9 couleurs préprogrammés.
o Static Chase: 12 différent programmes chenillard à vitesse sélectionnable
o Sound Chase: 12 différent programmes chenillard à commande audio
o Spectrum Mix: 32 différentes couleurs par mixage de spectre, incluant la

fonction de fondu des couleurs.

• Vitesse réglable par curseur

AVANT L’UTILISATION

Vérifiez le contenu:

Quelques instructions importantes:

• Pour éviter l’incendie ou l’électrocution, n’exposez jamais cet appareil à la pluie ou à
l’humidité.

• Afin de ne pas vous faire électrocuter, n’enlevez jamais le couvercle. Si vous êtes
confrontés à un problème, contactez votre dealer.

• N’insérez jamais d’objets métalliques et ne renversez jamais de liquides dans
l’appareil. L’électrocution ou le mal fonctionnement de l’appareil peut en résulter.

• Evitez les endroits poussiéreux, nettoyez l’appareil régulièrement.

ENTRETIEN

Nettoyez l’appareil à l’aide d’un chiffon doux, légèrement humide. Evitez d’introduire
de l’eau à l’intérieur de l’appareil. N’utilisez pas de produits volatiles tels le benzène ou
le thinner qui peuvent endommager l’appareil.

FONCTIONS (FACE AVANT)

1. TOUCHES HOLD COLORS: quand la touche Hold (2) est activée, vous pouvez

utiliser ces touches pour sélectionner facilement une des 9 couleurs
préprogrammés.

2. TOUCHE HOLD MODE: est utilisée pour sélectionner le mode “hold colors”, voyez

(1) pour plus d’informations.

3. TOUCHE CHASE MODE: est utilisée pour sélectionner la fonction chenillard. Le

projecteur i-Color4 connecté exécutera différents modèles de défilement chenillard
préprogrammés. Ces différents programmes peuvent être sélectionnés avec le
curseur chase (5). Il y à 2 modes différents de chenillard:

• Static Chase: ceci est le mode chenillard standard ou vous pouvez régler

vous-même la vitesse de défilement à l’aide du curseur Speed (6).

• Sound Chase: vous pouvez également utiliser la touche Sound (8) pour faire

défiler les modèles au rythme de la musique.

4. TOUCHE SPECTRUM MIX MODE: en mode spectrum mix, le curseur spectrum

mix (5) est utilisé pour sélectionner une des 32 couleurs du mixage de spectre.

5. CURSEUR CHASE/SPECTRUM MIX: la fonction de ce curseur dépend du mode
de fonctionnement sélectionné:

• Hold mode: le curseur n’est pas utilisé.

• Chase mode: le curseur est utilisé pour sélectionner un des modèles de

défilement des couleurs préprogrammés du chenillard. Référez-vous au texte
situé à gauche du curseur pour faire votre choix.
