MTC-TDC Thick Ceiling Dogears

For JBL Control Contractor Ceiling Speakers

MTC-TCD (TCD stands for Thick Ceiling Dogear) is an optional accessory dogear (rotating tab) for use with JBL

Control 24 Micro, 24 MicroPlus, 24, 26 & 19 in-ceiling loudspeaker models in thick ceilings.

Control 24, 26 & 19 -- The stock dogears that come with the loudspeakers accommodate ceiling thicknesses up to
38 mm (1.5 in). MTC-TCD dogears are designed to be used in ceilings up to 60 mm (2.4 in) thick.

Control 24 Micro & MicroPlus

thicknesses up to 28 mm (1.1 in). MTC-TCD dogears extend the usability to include ceilings up to 43 mm (1.7
in) thick.

Instructions – Remove the original dogears by unscrewing the baffle screws holding them. Reinsert the MTC-TCD

dogears in place. Rotate the dogear counter-clockwise so the tab is sitting tight to the backcan and temporarily
tighten the screw to hold the MTC-TCD in that position. Install the loudspeaker according to the normal manner
described in the ceiling speaker owner’s manual.

24 Pcs Per Kit – MTC-TCDs are sold only in an MTC-TCD kit containing 24 pcs. For loudspeaker models containing

3 dogears per speaker (Control 24C/CT Micro, 24CT MicroPlus or 24C/CT), each kit takes care of 8 speakers. For
models with 4 dogears (Control 26C/CT), each kit covers 6 speakers. For those with 5 dogears (Control
19CS/CST), each kit takes care of 4 speakers. Order as many kits as needed for the quantity and models of
speakers you want to convert for thick-ceiling capability.

Note that the MTC-TCD dogears also change the minimum ceiling thickness onto which the dogears tighten. See
