The MTC-81BB8 is designed for
use in applications requiring pre­installed backcans and is compatible
with ceiling speakers having a
286 mm (11¼ in) mounting circle
diameter, such as the JBL 8138 ceiling
loudspeaker, and the JBL MTC-81TB8
tile bridge for suspended ceilings.
Providing a larger backcan air volume
than most cost-effective backcans, the
MTC-81BB8 allows ceiling speakers
to produce extra bass capability for a
wider frequency response and
improved overall sound quality. This
angled-wall backcan nests to reduce
inventory space and transportation
costs. The MTC-81BB8 is supplied
with five conduit knockouts, four
clip-nuts for tile bridge to backcan
attachment, as well as acoustic lining
and two perforated bend-up
mounting straps.
