Control SB-5’” Subwoofer
The Control SB-5 Subwoofer for
the Control 5 utilizes TCB’” (Triple
Chamber Bandpass) enclosure
design, a JBL exclusive. Facing one
another in matched pairs, low
frequency transducers create equal
and opposite stresses that cancel out
each other before being transferred
to the cabinet. TCB technology mini-
mizes compression effects, acoustically filters higher order harmonic
distortion elements, reduces driver
excursion and dramatically reduces
enclosure size.
The resultant effect is higher
output, greater bass response and a
distortion factor that is significantly
lower than that afforded by a standard
ported enclosure of equivalent
volume.
