JBL Control 26-DT is a premium loudspeaker driver designed for applications requiring the finest sound
quality. Mounting points are on a 7.625 inch (196 mm) diameter mounting circle, as is standard for most
8-inch drivers. The weight is 4.2 lbs (1.9 kg) and the depth is 4.75” (120 mm). The backcan/grille
assembly must be capable of reliably supporting this weight and accommodating this depth.

Avoid Torsion Systems -- Most torsion-type grille/backcan systems are not capable of supporting the 4.2 lb
weight of this driver. The weight could pull down on the torsion springs, preventing a good seal to the
ceiling and/or causing rattling.

o In the 95-8 family, do NOT use 95-8NS or 95-NK backcans, which are shallow depth.

o Do NOT use T95-8 backcans, which are torsion type (see reasons, above).
