CONSOLE

AC 2600

We appreciate the confidence you have placed in JBC in purchasing this
station. It is manufactured to the most stringent quality standards in order to
give you the best possible service. Before turning on your station, we recommend
you read these instructions carefully.

SPECIFICATIONS

The console AC 2600 is designed to modify the
original regulation program parameters of any of
the Advanced stations. Use the console when the
tool that will be connected to the corresponding
station’s output, should perform under special
characteristics of operation. Examples of special
characteristics are fixed temperature, delay of
sleep time, etc.

ATENTION

The original parameters have been defined through
our field experience in soldering. Before changing
any parameter, we recommend to evaluate the
modification as it can both improve and adulterate
the operation of the station.

One of the basic characteristics that allows the
Advanced system to perform with an exceptional
tip-life in comparison with other stations, is the
use of the sleep-mode.
With this console you can modify the parameters
of the sleep-mode: the temperature and the delay
before entering in sleep-mode, or even switching
off the sleep-mode if required.

With the "Temperature adjust" function one can
modify the temperature indicated by the dial of
the station with an offset of ±50°C mod.

When adjusting the temperature it is important
to be aware of the following:

Reducing the "Sleep temperature" and the "Sleep
delay time" will extend the tip-life considerably,
up to 10% for every 5°C reduction.
In production lines where the rest times are
short, if both the "Sleep temperature" and the
"Sleep delay time" are increased the overall
soldering efficiency will increase, but tip-life will
be reduced in the same proportion.

The default "Sleep temperature" and "Sleep delay
time" for every type of handpiece have been set
to values based on experience and can always
be retrieved using the "Reset" function.

Every centigrade Celsius that is added to the
maximum temperature will decrease the tip-life
with 1%, what means that a maximum adjustment
of 50°C will lead to a 50% reduction in tip-life.

Depending on the age of AD 2000 control unit,
you won’t be able to accede so that you cannot
modify certain parameter.
If control unit belongs to the first production
series, nothing won’t be showed on the console's
display.

The unit's components

Console AC 2600 ref. 2600000 is composed
by:

- Monitor Ref. 0731000

- Converter Ref. 0731100

- Instructions manual Ref. 0735400

Converter

Console AC 2600 can be directly connected to
stations AD 2000, AD 2200 and AD 2700. In
order to connect the console to stations AD

4200, AD 4300, DI 3000, AR 5500, AR 5800, DS
5300, AM 6000 and AM 6500 you should place

the converter Ref. 0731100 between the end of
the console’s cable and connector of the
station.

OPERATION

Once the console has been connected to the
control unit, it will automatically show in the
console’s display the following messages:

f this is not showing, it means that the control
unit is not ready to accept the console. That is
to say, the version is too old.

ALTER PARAMETERS

This function is used to alter the original
parameter which the control unit has been
configured with.

Tool selection.

It oblies prompts you to select the tool which you
want to work with and for the one you want to
change the parameters.

Max temperature.

till 400ºC or 750ºF).
It allows to change the maximum temperature

between 400ºC and 450ºC or 750ºF and 850ºF.

(Only for digital stations

Fix temperature.

This feature is used to fix the temperature.
Once the temperature has been fixed, you can
check the selected temperature in the station by
moving the selector dial, the green LED -READY­will remain on while the dial is set at the locked
temperature.
If the dial is not set at the locked temperature,
the green LED -READY- will be blinking. The
further the dial will be set from the locked
temperature the slower the blinking pace will be.
Moving the temperature dial on a fixed station
will only influence the LED, the temperature
remains at the selected level.
The standard factory settings do not include a
fixed temperature.
The console’s display will show «NOT FIXED» to
indicate that the station’s temperature is not fixed.

Sleep delay time.

It regulates the delay time of the intake into
sleep mode since the time that the soldering
iron is left in the stand.
The longer this time is, the greater oxidation of
the tinning on the tip will be which will lessen the
cartridge life span.
It is advisable to indicate a delay time only when
the using of the iron is intensive, for example in
production, so to avoid interruption «stop & go».
Selected original time 0 minutes.

Temperature unit.

Selection of temperature units in Celsius grades ­°C- or Fahrenheit -°F-.

Sleep temperature.

It allows you to modify temperature in sleep
mode. At higher temperature there is more tip
tinning oxidation and less tip life.
Through experience we’ve learned that a
difference of approximately 100°C or 200°F
between sleep- and work temperature is ideal.

Temperature adjust.

It is used to make an adjustment in the
temperature of the tool.

Top scale boost.

at the top end of the scale. (Only for analogical
stations till 400ºC or 750ºF).
This function allows us to increase in a maximum
of 50ºC or 100º F the temperature of the tool when
the dial is placed at the top end of the scale.

RESET PARAMETERS

This function allows to come back to the original
parameters.

COUNTERS READ

It controls the control unit counters.

Total hours.

Total of hours that the control unit has been
working.

Sleep cycles.

Number of times that the iron has entered into the
stand.

Sleep hours.

Hours in sleep mode.

Iron changes.

Number of times that a cartridge or handpiece
has been replaced.

JBC reserves the right to make technical changes without
prior notification.

Antes de poner en marcha el aparato, recomendamos leer con atención las
instrucciones que a continuación se detallan.

CARACTERISTICAS

La consola AC 2600 está diseñada para modificar
los parámetros originales del programa de
regulación de las estaciones de la gama
Advanced. Utilice la consola cuando necesite
que la herramienta tenga unas características
especiales de funcionamiento como fijar la
temperatura de trabajo, incluir un tiempo de retraso
en sleep, etc.

ADVERTENCIA

Antes de cambiar cualquier parámetro, le
recomendamos que valore la modificación que
realizará ya que podría adulterar el correcto
funcionamiento de la estación.
Una de las principales características que hacen
que el sistema Advanced permita conseguir una
duración excepcional de las puntas con respecto
a cualquier otro tipo de estación, es la utilización
del modo de reposo "sleep".
Con esta consola se pueden modificar los
parámetros de sleep: temperatura y retraso en la
entrada del sleep, o si se desea supresión del
modo sleep.
Con la función "Temperature adjust" se puede
ajustar la temperatura en ±50°C respecto a la

temperatura que indica el dial de la estación.
Dicho lo anterior, es necesario advertir lo siguiente:

Si se reduce la temperatura de sleep ("Sleep
temperature") y también el retraso en la entrada
de sleep ("Sleep delay time"), aumenta la vida de
la punta considerablemente, puede durar un 10%
más por cada 5°C menos.
En líneas de producción donde los tiempos de
reposo son pequeños, si aumenta la
temperatura de sleep y también el retraso en la
entrada de sleep, aumentará la eficiencia
soldadora, pero reducirá la vida de la punta en
la misma proporción.

Las temperaturas y retrasos de sleep para cada
modelo de soldador se han establecido por
experiencia y se pueden recuperar si se utiliza la
función "Reset parameters".

Por cada grado Celsius que se aumente sobre
la temperatura máxima, disminuirá la vida de la
punta un 1%, esto significa que si se utiliza el
máximo de 50°C de aumento, la vida de la
punta se reducirá un 50%.

En la estación AD 2000, dependiendo de la
antiguedad de la unidad de control, no podrá
accceder y por tanto modificar ciertos parámetros.
Si la unidad de control corresponde a las primeras
series de fabricación, incluso no aparecerá nada
en el display.

Composición de la unidad

La consola AC 2600 ref. 2600000 está
compuesta por:

- Monitor Ref. 0731000

- Convertidor Ref. 0731100

- Manual de instrucciones Ref. 0735400

Convertidor

La consola AC 2600 se puede conectar
directamente a las estaciones AD 2000, AD 2200
y AD 2700. Para conectar la consola a las
estaciones AD 4200, AD 4300, DI 3000, AR 5500,
AR 5800, DS 5300, AM 6000 y AM 6500 se tiene
que colocar el convertidor Ref. 0731100 entre el
extremo del cable de la consola y el conector de
la estación.

FUNCIONAMIENTO

Una vez conectada la consola a la unidad de
control aparecerán automaticamente en el
display de la consola los mensajes:

Si no aparece ningún mensaje es que la unidad
de control no está preparada para aceptar la
consola. Significa que es de una versión
demasiado antigua.

ALTER PARAMETERS

Esta función sirve para alterar los parámetros
originales con los cuales está configurada la
unidad de control.

Tool selection.

Le obliga a seleccionar la herramienta con la
cual desea trabajar y para la cual quiere
cambiar los parámetros.

Temperature unit.

Selección de las unidades de temperatura en
grados Celsius -°C- o Fahrenheit -°F-.

Max temperature.

digitales hasta 400ºC o 750ºF).
Permite cambiar la temperatura máxima entre

400ºC y 450ºC o 750ºF y 850ºF.

(Sólo para estaciones

Fix temperature.

Sirve para fijar la temperatura.
Se puede comprobar la temperatura fijada en
la estación moviendo el dial de selección, el led
verde READY sólo permanecerá encendido
contínuamente cuando el dial señalice la
temperatura fijada.
Si el dial no está posicionado en la temperatura
fijada, el led verde READY parpadeará a una
velocidad más lenta cuanto más lejos de la
temperatura fijada se encuentre.
Aunque el dial esté en otra posición distinta de la
temperatura fijada y por tanto el led verde esté
parpadeando la temperatura de trabajo siempre
será la que se haya fijado.
En origen no hay ninguna temperatura fijada.
Cuando la temperatura no está fijada, el display
de la consola muestra el mensaje: "NOT FIXED".

Sleep delay time.

Regula el tiempo de retraso de entrada en
sleep desde el momento en que se descansa
el soldador en el soporte.
Cuanto más largo sea este tiempo, mayor será
la oxidación del estañado de la punta y menor
su duración.
Es recomendable poner un tiempo de retraso
sólo cuando la utilización del soldador sea
intensiva, por ejemplo en producción, con el fin
de evitar el "stop and go" contínuo.
Tiempo seleccionado en origen 0 minutos.
