Cat Back Exhaust
This system comes with two tips - the high ground clearance Black tip and
the Polished Stainless Steel “Street Style” - Install the one you like best

1. Loosen the clamp from the muer inlet to the catalytic converter. Slide the pipe
back and remove the clamp. The clamp may be tack welded to the pipe, if it is
grind the weld to remove the clamp.
2. Support the muer and remove the hangers from the rubber mounts using either a
pry bar, large Channel lock pliers, or both.
3. Cut the stock exhaust just behind the muer, this will make it easier to remove.
Remove the exhaust system from the JEEP.
4. Install the JBA front pipe to the cat with the factory clamp - do not tighten yet.
5. Install the JBA muer with the centered inlet towards the front using one of the 2
1/2” Accu Seal clamps, support the muer. Do not tighten yet, Slip the intermediate
pipe into the outlet of the muer using another 2 1/2” clamp and install the hanger
into the rubber mount.
6. Slip the over axle pipe onto the intermediate pipe using 2 1/2” clamp and install the
hanger into the rubber mount.
7. If you are using the Black O Road tip, slip the connector pipe with the 2 1/2” end
onto the over axle pipe and the 3” outlet facing rearward. Install the hanger into the
rubber mount. Slip the Black tip onto the connector pipe using the 3” clamp.
8. If you are using the Polished Stainless Tip, slip the slotted end of the connector
pipe onto the over axle pipe using a 2 1/2” clamp. Install the hanger into the rubber
mount. Slip the Stainless tip onto the connector pipe using a 2 1/2” clamp.
9. Align all the pipes and the tip to your satisfaction and then tighten all the clamps
10. Check the clamps after a couple of heat cycles to conrm they are still tight. You
may want to tack weld them to assure they don’t work loose.
