INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Dual exit exhaust system

Note: This exhaust system is
designed to work with a GT rear
valance, or a V-6 bumper trimmed to
match a GT.
JBA recommends in most cases that the vehicle be taken to a reputable exhaust shop.

penetrating oil
7. Slide the JBA muffler/tip assemblies
(D) and (E) hangers into the rubber
isolators on each side. Be sure to get
the rod into both isolator’s on the new
hangers.

Start:
1. Remove and inventory the JBA
Exhaust System.
2. Disconnect the negative battery
cable and allow the exhaust system to
completely cool.
3. Loosen the clamps attaching the
exhaust to the catalytic converter
assembly. Slide the clamp back to
separate the two.
4. Loosen the clamp connecting the
exhaust pipe to the muffler. Wiggle
the exhaust pipe free from the muffler.
Remove the exhaust pipe from car.
8. Install the new over axle pipes (B) and
(C), slip a 2-1/2" clamp (H) onto each
pipe, then insert into muffler/tip
assemblies (D) and (E). Slip two ring
clamps onto the Y-pipe (A), and insert
the Y-pipe into the over axle pipes (B)
and (C).
11. Using a soft cloth, wipe the new
JBA tips clean.
12. Reconnect the battery and start the
vehicle to check for leaks.
NOTES:
1.) All exhaust systems expand about
1" rearward when exhaust temperature
rises.

5. Using pliers or a pry bar, slide the
rubber hanger from the hanger rod at
inside, front of muffler (a little lube
helps). Slide the muffler assembly
forward and remove from slip hangers.
9. Using the factory clamp, attach the Ypipe (A) to the converter assembly.
Adjust to be flat to the ground, and tight
to the converter assembly. Tighten
securely.
6. Bolt the supplied hanger brackets
(G) to the frame on the drivers side
using the supplied self tapping
screws (I). Bolt the brackets in place
with the factory holes. Prongs on the
bracket need to face forward. Then
slide two rubber isolators (F) onto
each hanger so holes align.
We recommend taking the vehicle to a muffler shop and having all slip connections tack welded.
10. With the axle pipes (B) and (C) in the
muffler assemblies (D) and (E) adjust
mufflers to be flat, and the tips an equal
distance from the bumper cover, Then
tighten all clamps securely.
