Introduction
Introduction
IntroductionIntroduction
The 3DForce4 Ti4200-8X and the 3DForce4 Ti4200-64-8X video accelerators are nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 with AGP 8X core technology based on built-in 64MB or 128MB DDR memory modules onboard. These AGP 8X bus accelerators are capable of driving extremely complex graphics and character animation images on your desktop PC with unparalleled speed and clarity-providing beautiful images like those you’ve never experienced before. The particular emphasis of this AGP's ability is ease of play for all top-end PC games with the preferred resolution, unique visual effects and life-like animation these games require. Like many other of these realistic graphical improvements, the 3DForce4 Ti4200-8Xand the 3DForce Ti4200-64-8X (as well as the games) are best used in combination with newer, high-end desktop PCs’.
The nVIDIA GeForce4 Titanium Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) is at the root of the advanced nFiniteFX™ II new technology from nVIDIA, and it delivers up to three times the performance of the GeForce3™. Dual Vertex Shaders inject personality into characters and environments, and enable these Pixel Shaders with new Z-correct bump mapping ability, which compose all of the life-like surface details like so real on your screen.
The most significant new feature is the “Quad Cache”, four individually dedicated and optimized memory caches allowing almost instant pipeline access and, as a bonus, the reuse of loose bandwidth as well. Built-in amazing 64MB/128MB frame buffers; up to a 650MHz of DDR memory-the world’s faster; a 300MHz core clock for unmatched clock speed, and 113 million transistors, the Titanium GPU™ delivers nearly twice the memory bandwidth of the previous high performance GPU, and enables end users to run applications at highest resolutions with astonishingly fast frame refresh rates.
Another feature of the 3DForce4 Ti4200-8X and 3DForce4 Ti4200-648X is the video accelerator, which integrates the HDVP (High Definition Video Processor) and DVD (Digital Versa Display) playback with higher definition at greatly increased frame rates.
A leverage of combination of hardware and software technology , nVIDIA’s new GeForce4™Titanium GPU will provide many of the new features and benefits to you look for in your desktop computing as well as the best-performance, combing usual quality and exceedingly crisp resolution. With all of this, 3DForce4 Ti4200-8X and 3DForce4 Ti420064-8X video cards will bring-up a new level of graphics accomplishment and flexibility to the high-end PC market!

Hardware Installation

Installation Procedures

!! WARNING !!
Discharge static electricity by
touching the GROUND such as
metal part of your case
connected with good power
ground before you handle the
electronic circuit boards.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for any damage, caused directly or indirectly, by improper installation of any components by unauthorized service personnel. If you do not feel comfortable performing the installation, consult with a qualified computer technician
.

Steps:

1. Turn OFF all powers to your system, including any peripherals (printer,
external drives, modem, et c.).
12
2. Disconnect the power cord and the m oni tor cable from the back of the
computer.
3. Unfasten the cover mount i ng screws on your system and rem ove the
system cover. Ref er to your system user manual for instructions to determine the location of the mounting screws.
4. Remove the retaining screw that hol ds the slot cover in place. Slide
the slot cover out and put the sc rew aside (you will need it to sec ure the adapter).
5. To install the adapter in AGP expansion slot, carefully line up the gold-
fingered edge connector on the adapter direc tly above the expansion slot connector on the motherboard. Then press the adapter into pl ace, completely. Use t he (remaining) screw you removed to secure the adapter-retaining bracket in plac e.
6. Replace the computer c over. Secure the cover with the mount i ng
screws you removed in Step 3.
You have now completed the instal l ation of your new graphics adapter on your system.
Upgrade Steps:
To add or change your video adapter in an existing system, you may proceed a few steps before you install the new hardware and software(video display driver). The following are some of the considerations:
1. To change a new adapter, please remove the existing video driver, or replace it with a SVGA driver from Windows®98/Me system before you remove the existing hardware.
2. To add a new adapter, ensure the mainboard that has available IRQ for new devices, and there is no conflict between the others.
3. If you try adding this video adapter to an ALL-IN-ONE mainboard (which video port built-in already), then you must disable that port first. Otherwise, that will be a problem for the new video adapter setup.
4. The driver installation for system upgrade is the same as below, if an error occurs when you proceed step 1,2 or 3, please consult with your system dealer or the existing hardware manufacturers support.
