malfunctioning equipment.
2. Ensure that all employees who use this tool are trained in the proper use of this tool and are aware of
the dangers that may arise if they do not follow the procedures outlined in this brochure.
3. Enclosed are four (4) copies of

food grade grease (NLGI- 2). Jarvis part num-

1.3 Replace gasket, bottom cover, washers and
screws.
1.4 If more frequent lubrication is desired, grease
can be added through plug (item 30) or grease
fitting (item 18).
1.5 Drive pins (items 10 and 40) can also be lubricated without removing the crankcase cover
(item 26). Remove plug (item 30). With drive
ram (item 39) fully extended, the counterweight
piston drive pin (item 10) can be reached. With
drive ram fully retracted, the drive ram drive pin
(item 40) can be reached.
Always wear cut protective gloves when handling blades.
2.1 Remove two (2) hex lock nuts (item 42) and two
(2) socket head cap screws (item 38).
2.1.1 Push drive ram (item 39) into housing if
more space is required for blade removal.
2.2 END CUTTING BLADE:
2.3 Lower blade (item 56 or 64) away from blade
support (item 55 or 63) until crimp in end of
blade slides out of slot in blade support.
2.4 END GUIDED BLADE:
2.5 Lower blade (item 58) away from blade support
(item 57) and rotate blade until slot in blade
drops out of tabs on blade support end guides.
3.1 END CUTTING BLADE:
3.1.1 Slide blade (item 56 or 64) onto blade support (item 55 or 63) until crimp in end of
blade is touching end of support.

9.11.1 Do not pry between the rear motor cover and
motor housing (item 81). Just pull gently.
9.12 Remove (4) screws (item 92) and pull armature
(item 96), fan guard (item 94) and fan housing
(item 93) out of motor housing as an assembly.
9.13 Lift off air ring disk (item 85).
9.14 Grasp armature (item 96) and insert 6mm hex
key into pinion gear (item 88). Unscrew gear to
separate it from from armature and to free fan
guard and fan housing.
9.15 Remove retaining ring (item 90) to release front
motor bearing (item 91).
9.16 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
10 MOTOR AND SWITCH ASSE MBLY:
10.1 Reverse steps and procedures outlined in step 9.

10.1.1 Feed wires from stator (item 83) through
hole in motor housing (item 81) and into
rear handle (items 65 and 71).
11 CRANKCASE ASSEMBLY:
11.1 Reverse steps and procedures outlined in step 6.

11.1.1 After assembling motor ensure that armature rotates freely by hand. Do not apply
power to a binding armature.
11.1.2 Pack teeth of gears (items 9 and 88) with
grease.
11.1.3 After installing lower mechanism in housing ensure that armature rotates and linkage
slides freely by hand. Do not apply power to
a binding mechanism.
11.1.4 Reinstall brushes in the same brush holder
and in the same position from which they
were removed.
11.1.5 Reattach capacitor (item 66) to stator side of
switch (item 68).
