1. Remove and repair any tool that malfunctions. All personnel must be instructed to remove any malfunctioning equipment.
2. Ensure that all employees who use this tool are trained in the proper use of this tool and are aware of the dangers that may arise if they do not follow the procedures outlined in this brochure.
3. Enclosed are four (4) copies of

to the maintenance foreman; and give one copy to the sub -contract cleanup / internal cleanup foreman.
Additional copies will be provided upon request.
4. The tool is designed and intended to be powerful. That fact should be obvious to your employees, but you must emphasize it to them.
5. Never make modifications or alterations to the tool. Replace any missing or illegible labels.
6. Always disconnect the tool from its power supply when it is not in use.
7. Follow our installation and maintenance instructions for proper installation and care of the tool.
8. Ensure that employees wear eye protection in accordance with OSHA’s eye and face protection re-
quirements (29 CFR 1910.133) when using the tool.
9. Hand/Wrist/Arm injury and other Cumulative Trauma Disorders may result from repetitive work, motion or vibration. You must make your employees aware of hazards, symptoms of injury and ap­propriate prevention. See OSHA’s“Ergonomics Program Management Guidelines for Meatpacking Plants.”

NOTICE TO OPERATORS, MAINTENANCE AND CLEANUP PERSONNEL
REMOVE ANY MALFUNCTIONING TOOL FROM SERVICE
REPORT ANY PROBLEMS TO YOUR SUPERVISOR
1. Always wear eye protection in accordance with OSHA’s eye and face protection requirements (29 CFR
1910.133), and when needed, a dust mask.
2. Disconnect the power supply in accordance with OSHA’s lockout/tagout procedures (29 CFR
1910.147) before changing the blade.
3. Disconnect the power supply in accordance with OSHA’s lockout/tagout procedures (29 CFR
1910.147) before performing any repair or maintenance.
4. Disconnect the power supply -- or have the power supply disconnected - in accordance with OSHA’s lockout/tagout procedures (29 CFR 1910.147) before performing any cleanup.
5. Disconnect the power supply when the tool is not in use.
6. Never put fingers, hands or other parts of the body on the cutting edge of the blade or in the cutting path.
7. Test the tool prior to use or daily. Depress the trigger and the t ool should

8. Never depress the trigger unless you are going to use or test the tool.
9. Never make any alterations to the tool. Report or replace any missing or illegible labels.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY IN ACCOR-
DANCE WITH OSHA’S LOCKOUT/TAGOUT PROCEDURES
(29 CFR 1910.147) BEFORE PERFORMING ANY REPAIRS OR
MAINTENANCE.
ALL WIRING MUST BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL ELECTRICAL CODES.
1 Install the saw above the work station from a balanc-
er if desired. Jarvis part number 4042040 is avail­able.
2 Position power cord (item 31) for either top exit or
rear exit, as desired.
2.1 Unplug the tool.
2.2 Remove four (4) pan head screws (item 36), electrical box cover (item 35) and gasket (item
38).
2.3 Disconnect power cord from switch (item 41).
2.4 Remove two (2) locking nuts (item 34), strain relief connector (item 30) and plug (item 37).
2.5 Swap positions of strain relief and plug. Re-­tighten nuts.
2.6 Reconnect power cord to switch.
2.7 Reinstall gasket, cover and four (4) screws.
3 Plug the 115 V, 50/60 Hz model into a standard 115
V wall outlet. Plug the 230 V, 50/60 Hz model into a standard 230 V wall outlet.

1 MONTHLY:
1.1 Remove six (6) flat head screws (item 81), six (6) serrated washers (item 80), bottom cover (item 79) and gasket (item 78).
1.2 Ensure that gear case is 3/4 full of USDA ap­proved grease. Jarvis part number 1062003 is available. Add grease if necessary.
1.3 Replace gasket, bottom cover, washers and screws.
2 BLADE DISASSEMBLY:
Always wear cut protective gloves when handling blades.
2.1 Remove two (2) locking nuts (item 70) and two (2) socket head cap screws (item 77).
2.2 Slide blade (item 91, 93 or 95) off blade support (item 90, 92 or 94).
2.2.1 Push drive ram (item 69) into housing if more space is required for blade removal.
3 BLADE ASSEMBLY (item 91, 93 or 95):
3.1 END CUTTING BLADE (item 91)
3.1.1 Slide blade (item 91) onto blade support (item 90) until crimp in end of blade is touching end of support.
3.1.2 Use soft mallet to tap end of blade toward body of saw until the crimp in the blade slides into the slot in the blade support.

3.1.3 Align holes in blade and drive ram (item
69).
3.1.4 Install two (2) socket head cap screws (item
77) and two (2) lock nuts (item 70) to fasten blade. Be sure to firmly tighten screws and
lock nuts.
3.2 HEAVY DUTY / CENTER GUIDED BLADE (item 93 or 95):
3.2.1 Slide slotted end of blade (item 93 or 95) into the guide in the end of blade support (item 92 or 94).
3.2.2 Push blade onto tongue on blade support (item 92).
3.2.3 Align holes in blade and drive ram (item
69).
3.2.4 Install two (2) socket head cap screws (item
77) and two (2) lock nuts (item 70) to fasten blade. Be sure to firmly tighten screws and
lock nuts.
4 BLADE SUPPORT DISASSEMBLY:
4.1 Remove two (2) acorn nuts (item 47), lock washers (item 59), flange head screw (item 56) and blade support bushings (item 57).
4.2 Remove blade support (item 90, 92 or 94).
4.3 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
5 BLADE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY:
5.1 Reverse the steps and procedures outlined in step 4. See notes below.
5.1.1 Ensure that holes in gear housing (item 58) and blade support (item 90, 92 or 94) are aligned.
5.1.2 Blade support bushings (item 57) are a close fit to gear housing (item 58) and light tap­ping with a mallet may be required to install.
6 SER 200/400 DISASSEMBLY:
6.1 Remove two (2) each brush covers (item 9), brush holders (item 11) and brushes (item 12).
6.1.1 Mark brushes so they can be returned to the same holder and same position to maximize life.
6.2 Remove two (2) oval head screws (item 49) and hanger bracket (item 50).
6.3 Turn saw upside down and rest on motor cover (item 6).
6.3.1 Assembly fixture, Jarvis part number 8039075, is available to hold saw upside down.
6.4 Remove six (6) flat head screws (item 81), six (6) serrated lock washers (item 80), bottom cov­er (item 79) and gasket (item 78).
6.5 Scoop out grease and discard.
6.6 Remove two (2) upper hex head screws (item
76) and lock washers (item 75) from front of saw.
6.7 Remove six (6) cheese head screws (item 66), six (6) lock washers (item 65) and two (2) bear­ing clamps (item 64).
6.8 Grasp bushing (item 71) and gear (item 87) and lift entire lower mechanism (items 60--77 and 83--88) out of gear housing (item 58) as a unit.
6.9 Turn saw right side up.
6.10 Remove four (4) pan head screws (item 5).
6.11 Lift off motor cover (item 6).
6.12 Remove rear motor cover (item 7) by pulling straight up.
6.12.1 Do not pry between the rear motor cover and motor housing (item 13).
6.13 Remove two (2) oval head screws (item 27).
6.14 Lift off rear handle (item 26) and motor housing (item 13) together as one unit.
6.15 Lift off air ring disk (item 18).
6.16 Pull armature (item 17) out of gear housing (item 58).
6.17 Drive gear (item 20) may be unscrewed from ar­mature shaft.
6.18 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
7 SER 200/400 ASSEMBLY:
7.1 Reverse steps and procedures outlined in step 6. See notes below.
7.1.1 After assembling motor ensure that arma­ture rotates freely by hand. Do not apply
power to a binding armature.
7.1.2 Pack teeth of gears (items 20 and 87) with grease.
7.1.3 After installing lower mechanism in hous­ing ensure that armature rotates and linkage slides freely by hand. Do not apply power to
a binding mechanism.
7.1.4 Reinstall brushes in the same brush holder and in the same position from which they were removed.

8 CONNECTING LINK DISASSEMBLY:
8.1 Before assembling with other parts, individ­ually coat with grease the sliding surfaces of items 61, 68, 69, 71, 84 and 87.
8.2 Slide bushing (item 71) straight off drive ram (item 69).
8.3 Remove and discard two (2) retaining rings (item 67).
8.4 Remove four (4) shims (item 84) and two (2) connecting links (item 68) from connecting pins (item 83 and 88).
8.5 Remove and discard retaining ring (item 63) from connecting pin (item 60) in counterweight piston (item 61).
8.6 Press out connecting pin (item 60) in counter­weight piston (item 61).
8.7 Remove and discard retaining ring (item 63) from connecting pin (item 60) in drive ram (item
69).
8.8 Press out connecting p in (item 60) in drive ram (item 69). Be careful not to bend “fork” on drive
ram.
8.8.1 Assembly tool, Jarvis part number 8039082, is available to aid in disassembly.
8.9 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
9 CONNECTING LINK ASSEMBLY:
9.1 Reverse steps and procedures outlined in step 8. See notes below.
9.1.1 Head of connecting pins (item 60) must seat in counterbores of counterweight piston (item 61) and drive ram (item 69).
9.1.2 When pressing connecting pin (item 60) into drive ram (item 69) be careful not to bend “fork” on drive ram.
9.1.2.1 Assembly tool, Jarvis part number 8039082, is available.
9.1.3 Retaining rings (items 63 and 67) must be discarded once they have been removed. Do
not reuse them.
9.1.4 Pack bearings and bushings (items 62, 85 and 86) and gear teeth (items 20 and 87) with grease.
10 MOTOR AND SWITCH DISASSEMBLY:
10.1 Remove four (4) pan head screws (item 36), electrical box cover (item 35) and gasket (item
38).
10.2 Loosen locking nut (item 34).
10.3 Loosen four (4) screws attaching wires from sta­tor (item 14), capacitor (item 39) and power cord (item 31) to switch (item 41).
10.4 Remove strain relief connector (item 30) and power cord (item 31).
10.5 Remove three (3) cheese head screws (item 40), clamp (item 33) and switch (item 41).
10.6 Squeeze trigger (item 25) and remove plunger (item 32).
10.7 Remove two (2) pan head screws (item 16) and stator (item 14) from motor housing (item 13).
10.8 Inspect parts for wear and replace if necessary.
11 MOTOR AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY:
11.1 Reverse steps and procedures outlined in step
10. See notes below.
11.1.1 Lubricate plunger (item 32) before assem­bling.
11.1.2 Feed wires from stator (item 14) through hole in motor housing (item 13) and into handle (item 26).
11.1.3 Reattach capacitor (item 39) to stator side of switch.
