6.3.2 Automatic acquisition of RTC time (SNTP)
The CV-S3500E can acquire RTC time through the network. Set IP address of the SNTP time
distribution server.
6.3.3 User acc ess
Access via HTTP can be controlled by registered ID and Password. In the default setting,
they are not registered. Three user levels can be set: administrator, operator and viewer.
6.3.4 Setup menu
Checking network addresses, setting DHCP, and other task s can be done through function keys located on the rear of the camera. Please refer to section 7.3 for the setup menu tree.
6.3.5 Image format through Ethernet interface
In the CV-S3500E, the CCD is scanned in two modes, one for 1280 x 960 and the other for 960 x 720. Data can be digitized in two scan modes. This is done by selecting the scan mode.
Image types available through the Ethernet interface are shown in the following table.

Note:
1. The performance of motion video through the network depe nds on the traffic conditions of the
network or graphic performance in the PC.
2. RTP movie transfer uses wideband network bandwidth. Accordingly, there may be limitations
in the network.
3. Using HTTP motion video (1280x960), if the quality is set at “super”, the analog output may be
interrupted.
4. If using RTP JPEG and JPEG still image at the same time, the still image is not activated (no
memory error). If using the JPEG still image, RTP should be set at MPEG4 or H.264.

2. Click “N etwork” tab in the SetUp menu and check “DHCP” as “ON” .
3. Then, using NetCamSearch, check the IP address.
4. Then, set the IP address using the procedure described in the section 9.1.1.
5. Start Internet Explorer and log in as Administrator.
9.2. TOP menu
Then, the following camera control tool will come up on the screen. This is the TOP menu. Select View Camera or SetUp Menu tab.
“View Camera” This is for selecting the image transfer format.
“SetUp Menu” This is for setting up the network and camera functions.

9.3. View Camera top menu
The following is the TOP menu for view camera
Se l ect the item in the sub menu.
Movie-view (RTP) Movie-view (HTTP-JPEG) Still capture(JPEG) Still capture(BMP)
Note: On Movie-view (RTP) mode, It will take time until the QuickTime player p lug in is initiated. Click the PLAY button, RTP transfer will begin.
Note: When you select both JPEG in RTP and JPEG in General File under Still image, a JPEG still image cannot be captured. In RTP, MPEG4 or H.264 should be selected.
In this case, the following indication appears on the screen if JPEG/Still is selected In the case of an HTTP movie, the movie and still image can be captured at the same time.
Note: Still-capture(YUV422) (YUV422 RAW data) or Still-capture(DNG-YUV422)(YUV422-DNG data) can also be transferred. The ordinal browsers do not support these formats, t hey cannot be displayed but data will be transferred for storing. When DNG or YUV is selected, an additional window will open to ask the user to search for the appropriate software to watch these files.

9.4.3 SetUp-capture
This window is used to set up the size and quality of the captured image in order to use the Network effectively. RTP: The compression formats for RTP(Real Time Transport Protocol) are JPEG, MPEG4 and
H.264.
In this case, the imag e size is VGA which is 640 x 480. Accordingly, the bandwidth (data volume) depends on picture quality (compression rate). The picture quality can be selected, normal, high or super. The picture quality becomes better from normal to super, but the data volume will also increase.
9.4.4 SetUp-Network
This is for setting DHCP, IP address and Subnet mask.
The settings do not become effective until “Reload” is pressed.
When DHCP is used, the IP server address of DHCP, the camera’s IP address and Subnet mask
are automatically set and the settings are indicated.
For setting up the camera’s IP address, follow the procedure described in section 9.1.2.

1. Precautions
Personnel not trained in dealing with similar electronic devices should not service this camera. The camera contains components sensitive to electrostatic discharge. The handling of these devices should follow the requirements of electrostatic sensitive compo nent s . Do not attempt to disassemble this camera. Do not expose this camera to rain or moisture. Do not face this camera towards the sun, extreme bright light or light reflecting objects. When this camera is not in use, put the supplied lens cap on the lens mount. Handle this camera with the maximum care. Operate this camera only from the type of power source indicated on the camera. Power off the camera during any modification, such as changes of jumper and switch settings.
2. Typical Sensor Characteristics
The following effects may be observed on the video monitor screen. They do not indicate any fault of the camera, but are associated with typical sensor characteristics.
V. Aliasing
When the CCD camera captures stripes, straight lines or similar sharp patterns, a jagged image may appear on the monitor.
Blemishes
All cameras are shipped without visible image sensor blemishes. Over time some pixel defects can occur. This does not have a practical effect on the operation of the camera. These will show up as white spots (blemishes). Exposure to cosmic rays can cause blemish es to appear on the image sensor. Please take care to avoid exposure to cosmic rays during transportation and storage. It is recommended using sea shipment instead of air flight in order to limit the influence of cosmic rays on the camera. Pixel defects/blemishes also may emerge due to prolonged operation at elevated ambient temperature, due to high gain setting, or during long time exposure. It is therefore recommended to operate the camera within its specifications.
Patterned Noise
When the sensor captures a dark object at high temperature or is used for long time integration, fixed pattern noise may appear on the video monitor screen.
3. Caution when mounting a lens on the camera
When mounting a lens on the camera dust particles in the air may settle on the surface of the lens or the image sensor of the camera. It is therefore important to keep the protective caps on the lens and on the camera until the lens is mounted. Point the lens mount of the camera downward to prevent dust particles from landing on the optical surfaces of the camera. This work should be done in a dust free environment. Do not touch any of the optical surfaces of the camera or the lens.
4. Exportation
When exporting this product, please follow the export regulation of your own country.
