Introduction
We congratulate you on the acquisition of your Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, and thank you for your con dence.
We invite you to consult the operating instructions and hope your JaegerLeCoultre timepiece brings you great enjoyment.
Accuracy
Mechanical manually-wound or automatic watches
The precision of watch models with mechanical movements is determined by the balance. The latter oscillates at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Despite all the care that the master-watchmakers of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre have lavished on building and assembling your watch, its accuracy is subject to the in uence of gravity, magnetic  elds, impacts, as well as ageing of the oils. The precision of a watch is measured by its regularity of rate in various positions.
Your individual temperament and your activities may result in slight irregularities. If you observe a discrepancy in the running of your watch, we advise you to entrust it to an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailer who will perform the necessary adjustments.
Water resistance
Your Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is water-resistant to 5 bar. The water resistance of your watch is identi able by a symbol engraved on the back. This means that your timepiece has been tested at an immersion pressure corresponding to 50 metres, according to the number of atmospheres appearing next to the abovementioned symbol (1 bar = approx. 10 metres).
You may use your watch during short swims and when jumping in from the edge of a swimming pool, but not from a diving board. Your watch must not be used for scuba diving, nor for sports involving signi cant risk of impact, such as windsur ng or waterskiing. Also note that leather straps are not suited to aquatic activities.
It is vital to have the water resistance of your watch checked by an authorised JaegerLeCoultre retailer before any period during which it is liable to undergo prolonged and/or regular immersions.

“1000 Hours Control” test
Jaeger-LeCoultre submits all its watches to the stringent “1000 Hours Control”, a unique battery of comprehensive and rigorous tests lasting a full 1000 hours.
The “1000 Hours Control” seal or legend placed or engraved on the back of your watch certi es that the latter has undergone this programme of observation in our laboratories and has successfully passed all the tests relating to regularity of rate, temperature, atmospheric pressure, resistance to shocks and magnetic  elds, as well as water-resistance trials. Your watch is thus capable of withstanding the daily stresses and strains that await it when worn on your wrist.
The criteria of the “1000 Hours Control” programme considerably exceed the standards of of cial timing tests, which deal only with part of the movement.
Jaeger-LeCoultre tests not only the movement prior to its being cased up in the watch, but also the watch as a whole.

Use
Starting the watch
Pull crown B out to position 1. A few clockwise turns of the crown are enough to set the watch running. It will then automatically wind up when you wear it. Please note that the crown
does not lock when winding, even when the watch is fully wound.
Setting the date
Pull crown A out to position 2. This timepiece features a date display window at 3 o’clock and a rapid correc-
tion system. If you have to move the date one day forward, turn crown A (in position 2) clockwise.
Repeat the operation until the desired date is displayed. For months with less than 31 days, repeat this process to reach the 1st of the following month. Once the operation is complete, push crown A back into position 1.
After setting the date, move the hands forward to the desired time – via 12 o’clock if it is after noon.

Setting the hours and minutes
Pull crown B out to position 2. The movement will be stopped. This will in turn stop the seconds hand. Move the
hands clockwise until the desired time is displayed. Once the operation is complete, push the crown back into position 1. The watch
will start running again.
Setting the alarm
Winding
Crown A in position 1. The alarm is wound by turning the crown clockwise. When winding is complete,
the crown is locked.
Setting the alarm time
Pull crown A out to position 2. This function enables you to adjust the alarm’s mobile disc by turning the crown
anti-clockwise to position the triangular mark situated in the centre of the dial opposite the desired alarm time.
Once the operation is complete, push crown A back into position 1.
Starting and stopping the alarm
The alarm is activated when crown A is in position 1. It is stopped when the crown is in position 2.
The alarm can be stopped at any time by pulling out crown A. However, note that it is essential to push the crown back into position 1 to ensure water-resistance.
MASTER MEMOVOX INTERNATIONAL
The Master Memovox International features a disc that displays the time in 24 cities around the world. The disc is divided into 12 segments, each containing 2 cities whose time zones are 12 hours apart. The cities situated on the outside of the disc are 12 hours ahead of those located on the inside. This system enables simultaneous day/night readings worldwide.
