Use the straps and clip tie downs to secure the cover when
not in use.
The suction fittings are sized to match the water flow created by
the pump. If they are replaced, make sure that the flow rate is the same. Never operate the spa if the suction fittings are broken or missing. Never replace a suction fitting with one rated less than the flow rate marked on the original suction fitting.
Keep hair, hair clips, and other objects, such as neck-
laces, far away from the suction nozzles, filters, and the

mer cover. Make certain that children do not play or swim near this equipment.
When the spa is in use, do not use any electrical appliance,
unless such appliances are built-in by the manufacturer.
The water in a spa should never exceed 40 °C. Lower water
temperatures are recommended for young children, pregnant women and when spa use exceeds 10 minutes.
Persons with heart conditions, diabetes, high or low blood
pressure or other health problems must not use the spa without first consulting their doctor.
The use of alcohol, narcotics or medicines may cause drowsi-
ness, and affect pulse rate, blood pressure and circulation. Avoid using these substances before getting into the spa.
Do not use a spa immediately following strenuous exercise.
Be very careful when getting in an out of the spa. All of the
surfaces are slippery when wet.

Parts incorporating electrical components,
except remote control devices, must be located or fixed so that they cannot fall into the spa. Live components and equipment must be out of reach of individuals in the spa.
For connection to the electrical mains, it is necessary to
install an omnipolar cut-off switch as per the values indicated in the chapter “Electrical characteristics., which is to be located in an area which is compliant with safety instructions and which cannot be reached by the users who are using the MaxiJacuzzi®.
It is mandatory to comply with this instruction. Any other procedure is prohibited.

Start-Up Instructions
Read each step in its entirety before proceeding with that step.
Remove any dirt from the spa. Although the spa shell has
been polished at the factory, you may want to treat it with a specially formulated spa cleaner and wax available from your dealer prior to filling the first time.
Filling the Spa
Remove the filter cover, then remove both filter cartridges as outlined in section “Cleaning The Filters”.
Place the end of your garden hose into empty skimming filter bucket (filter bucket on your left) as you stand next to the spa. Fill spa half way, then place the garden hose into the opposite filter bucket (filter bucket on your right) while adding the remaining fill water.
Fill spa until water level is above all jets and just touching the bottom of each headrest in its lowest position.
Do not overfill your mini-pool. N.B.: If your water is extremely hard, it is preferable to fill halfway
with hard water and the rest of the way with softened water. Or, you may fill entirely with hard water if you use a special water additive.
Always fill the spa from both filter connections, so as to expel air trapped in the pumps. Otherwise the air may remain trapped, preventing the pumps from circulating the water. After filling, make sure both filters are installed properly before applying power to the spa. (refer to sec. “Cleaning The Filters”).
Checks
Open the cabinet access panel and check all pump fittings to make sure they are tight. Loosening can occur during shipping and handling.
Turn on Power
Turn on power to spa from the main switch (refer to the chapter "Electrical safety". The heater and circulation pump will automatically activate. The flashing of the water temperature icon together with "COOL" or "ICE" on the display of the control panel may be normal as the water in the system is often cold; please refer to the "Problem resolving - Display messages" section.
Startup
Start up the pumps (refer to "Control panel" chapter).
Addition of chemcial additives at first start-up
Add the spa water chemicals as recommended by your dealer (refer to the chapter “Water Quality Maintenance” for general guidance).
WARNING!
Do not get in the spa until the quantity of disinfectant has not dropped below the level recommended by the manufacturer and/or by your retailer.
Water heating
The water can be heated once the parameters of the chemical additives have reached the correct value: use the circular keypad to either increase or decrease the temperature.
up
left
right
down
The heater will be turned off when the temperature has ex-
ceeded the temperature set by 1 degree and will be reactivated when the temperature descends 1 degree below that set.
Heater characteristics:
- The maximum temperature that may be set is 40 °C, the minimum is 27 °C.
- If the spa is supplied according to the minimum electric current absorption configuration (see pre-installation sheet) turn the pump off to activate the heater.
- Setting the temperature at maximum only results in a higher end temperature and will not accelerate the heating process itself.
N.B.: Always cover the spa (except during the mixing of the chemical additives!) with an isolating cover thus reducing the
heating times and minimising the running costs. The time necessary for the initial heating varies based on the start temperature of the water.
Always check water temperature carefully before entering spa.

Tube cleaning cycle
This function, which cannot be programmed and is active in both heating cycles, consists in activating each hydromassage pump for one minute once a day (activation time: 12:00).
If, however, the pump has only just stopped after the expiry of its standard operating time (20 minutes), the cleaning cycle will not be activated.
Filtering cycles
Two filtration cycles can be programmed:
The recirculation pump and the ozonizer remain off until the wa-
ter temperature descends to the set temperature (except when the recirculation pump operates for the obligatory 2 hour cycle).

Spa maintenance
Cleaning the filters
A programmable reminder "Filter change" (refer to the “Filter cartridge Promemoria” chapter) flashes on the control panel dis-
play after a number of days to remind you to clean the filter of the skimmer and check the cleaning sack filter.
This reminder must be reset at each filter cleaning interval.
Your new spa is equipped with an advanced 2-stage filtration system. Fine debris is filtered by the circulation pump drawing water through the skimmer and pleated filter cartridge every 12 hours (unless programmed otherwise). Large debris are filtered when either jets pump is running when the spa is in use or during a programmed filter cycle. These pumps draw water from footwell suction fitting and through a secondary water polishing bag filter. The exclusive footwell “sweeper” suction fitting enhances filtration in the footwell area by creating a “swirling” water motion to maximize particle agitation and pickup.
Note: attempts to wash the part (B) may make it unusable.
ALWAYS TURN POWER TO THE SPA OFF BEFORE CLEANING THE FILTER CARTRIDGES!
To accomplish this, refer to the following filter cleaning procedure:
1. Remove power to the hot tub before removing the skimmer (A) or filter bag cover (B).
2. Remove the polishing bag lid (B) by rotating it counterclockwise approximately 5 degrees until you feel it unlatch.
3. Remove the polishing bag by reaching into the filter bucket and gently pulling upward on the blue filter ring (empty filter bag weekly or install a new bag every three months.)
Note: the filter (C) is located under the bag: to remove it, turn it counterclockwise, and clean it following the instructions provided in point 6.
Replace bag, then install filter lid by rotating it clockwise until you feel it latch in place.
DO NOT FORCE LID! FINGER TIGHT ONLY!
4. Remove the skimmer assembly (A) by gently lifting upward
from the filter bucket.
5. Remove the filter cartridge by rotating it counterclockwise to unthread it, then remove the center cap and chemical dispenser from the filter cartridge as shown (right).
6. Clean the filter cartridge with a garden hose and high pressure nozzle. Rinse debris from the filter pleats beginning at the top and working your way downward. Continue, one section at a time until you have cleaned all debris from the filter pleats. When replacing the filter cartridge, make sure you remove the center cap and chemical dispenser for use with the new cartridge.
Replacement filter cartridges may be purchased from your authorized Jacuzzi dealer.

Draining and Refilling
About every 3 to 6 months, you will want to replace the water in the spa. Frequency of water replacement depends on frequency of use, care taken in maintaining water quality, etc. You will know it is time for a change when you cannot control sudsing and/or you can no longer see the normal sparkle to the water, even though the key water balance measurements are all within the proper parameters.
WARNING! Turn off power to spa before draining it. Do not turn the power back on until your spa has been refilled.
If it is extremely cold, and the spa is outdoors, freezing could occur in the lines or the equipment (see the section on “Winterizing”). If instead it is very warm, do not leave the spa exposed to direct sunlight.
To drain your spa, perform the following steps:
1. Turn off power to spa.
2.2.
4. Rotate the rear valve body 1/3 turn counterclockwise to unlock the drain valve.
5. Pull the larger (rear) body outward to open drain.
6. After the spa drains, perform steps 2-5 in reverse order to
close the drain prior to refilling the spa.
7. After refilling, turn on power to the spa and follow the steps listed under "Start-up instructions"
N.B.: Always fill your spa through both filter fittings.
Keep your spa clean
To preserve the sheen of your spa’s surface, it is crucial that you avoid using abrasive cleaners or cleaners which have adverse effects on the surface. Regardless of the cleanser used, use extreme care to assure that no soap residue is left on the surface. This could cause severe sudsing when the spa is refilled.
Headrest Care
- Clean the headrests in your spa as needed by wiping them with a clean cloth or soft brush saturated with detergent soap. It is not necessary to remove the headrests for cleaning.
3.3.
4.4.
5.5.
2.Locate the drain valve on the front/lower panel. Hold the larger (rear) body to prevent it from turning, then loosen and remove the cap.
3. Attach the hose.
- In order to remove the headrest should the spa remain unused for a period of time or to replace the headrest, take hold of the ends of each headrest and carefully pull towards yourself.
- To reinstall, over mounting strip and press down until headrest mounting bracket emits a “click” sound. Then adjust headrest height by simply moving up or down as desired.
Maintaining the Cover
Install the isolating cover each time the spa remains unused so that the water heating and spa maintenance times are reduced. To increase the duration of the cover, treat with care and clean regularly with neutral soap and water; a periodic application of specific products available through authorised resellers ensures protection against UV rays.
N.B.: Never allow anyone to stand or sit on the cover.
57
Panel maintenance
The panels do not require any special maintenance. To clean them, just wipe them with a clean cloth soaked in a soultion of water and a neutral detergent.
ATTENTION: do not direct jets of water against against the, since electro-mechanical parts of the spa are located behind them.
Winterizing
Your Jacuzzi
tect itself against freezing when operating properly.
During periods of severe freezing temperatures, you should
check periodically to be certain that the electrical supply to the spa has not been interrupted.
Under very cold conditions check that the filtration cycle is pro-
grammed for 24 hours (“Primary filtration cycle" chapter) and that the automatic heating mode is active (“Water recycling" - "Automatic cycle" chapters).
During the periods of non-use and/or prolonged interruption
of electric power during periods with very low temperatures it is important that all of the water is removed from the spa and protect against damages that freezing may cause.
For expert winterization of your spa, contact your authorized dealer.
In emergency situations, damage can be minimized by taking the following steps:
- Disconnect the spa from the electric mains.
- Position the massage switch in position A (combo).
B C
®
Premium spa is designed to automatically pro-
- Replace the drain plugs and screw them on.
- Loosen the clamp on the bottom of the heater and remove the hose. After draining the water, re-insert it on the connection and tighten the clamp again.
- Re-install cabinet panels and cover spa with the insulating cover.
Restarting your spa in cold weather
If you want to start up your spa after it has sat empty for a time in freezing temperatures, check whether the water remaining in certain sections of the piping is still frozen: this situation may block water flow preventing the spa from operating properly and possibly damaging the equipment.
Under these circumstances we recommend contacting your reseller prior to attempting to restart the spa.
Water quality maintenance
Maintaining the quality of the water within specified limits will serve to enhance your enjoyment and prolong the life of the system. It is a fairly simple task, but it requires regular attention because the water chemistry involved is a balance of several factors. A careless attitude in regard to water maintenance will result in poor and potentially unhealthful conditions for soaking and may even damage your spa.
For specific guidance on maintaining water quality, consult your dealer who can recommend appropriate chemical products for sanitizing and maintaining your spa.
CAUTION: Never store spa chemicals in the compartments for chemcials which are located under the spa.
pH Control
pH is a measure of relative acidity or alkalinity of water and is measured on a scale of 0 to 14. The midpoint of 7 is said to be neutral. Above this value the water is alkaline and below it, it is acidic.
A
- Open the valve of the cascade with the correct knob.
- Follow the directions for draining the spa.
- Get the water out of the recessed seating areas and bottom.
- Remove the side cover panels and locate the pump drain plugs. Remove the plugs to allow water to drain out.
Use a vacuum or other means to keep the water from flooding the equipment compartment.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN A SLIGHTLY ALKALINE CONDITION OF 7.4 to 7.6.
A low pH will be corrosive to metals in the spa equipment. A high pH will cause minerals to deposit on the interior surface (scaling); in addition, the ability of the sanitation agents to keep the spa clean is severely affected as the pH moves beyond the ideal range.
Sanitizing
To destroy bacteria and organic compounds in the water, use a sanitation product regularly, available from your dealer.
CAUTION: Do not use chlorine tablets (Trichlor) in your spa: this chemical can have an extremely corrosive effect on certain materials in the spa. Damage caused by use of this chemical, or improper use of any chemicals, is not covered under the spa’s warranty.
58
Ozonator (optional)
If you have elected to have your spa equipped with the ozone system, you will find that your water stays fresh and clear with significantly less chemical sanitizer usage.
Note: always close the cascade when the spa is not being used so that the water flow is increased and the ozone is thereby enriched. The ozonizer operates with the recirculation and switches off when the hydromassage pump is activated; 5 minutes after this is switched off the recirculation pump and ozonizer are reactivated.
N.B.: This error commonly occurs when the spa is first filled because tap water is often very cold.
