The detectors serve for the detection of the opening of windows, doors or gates. Install the sensor part with its connecting cable on or inside a frame and install the part with a permanent m agnet on the part of the window, door or gate that moves.
Doors, windows and movable parts need to be mounted so that when they are closed, their position is f ixed. It is impossible to protect doors and windows which can change their position with a blowing wind or a draft, as in this case the contact could be disconnected.
The intensity and range of the magnetic field are des igned for ideal conditions with no other magnetic fields, and no other ferromagnetic materials. Any ferromagnetic m aterial weakening the magnetic field in the surrounding space will make the range of the magnetic field shorter.
The magnetic field of the permanent magnet could be shorter by about 50% than is written on the datasheet when it is mounted in a
SA-220 rolling metal contact
metallic door-frame. Very preci se installation is necessary to get good results.
The contact is sealed in a glas s tube. Avoid breaking the contact
and letting it fall as it could be damaged.
The maximum operational distance is just before the contact is no longer reliably switched on. In practice there is also hysteresis: disconnecting the contact happens at a greater distance than its connection (see the charts).
