with a careful reading of the operating instructions.
1. USE THE CORRECT TOOL AND THE RIGHT STRAPPING - in case of doubt, ask your
ITW Signode representative how to use the tool correctly.
2. KEEP WORK AREAS UNCLUTTERED AND WELL-LIT.
3. WEAR ADEQUATE EYE AND FACE PROTECTION.
4. TREAT THE TOOL WITH RESPECT. Keep it clean, lubricated, and properly adjusted. Inspect
it daily. Replace worn parts.
5. TUCK THE STRAP END BACK INTO THE DISPENSER WHEN YOU’RE THROUGH.
HIGH TENSION APPLICATIONS
6. STAND TO ONE SIDE OF THE STRAP BEING TENSIONED AND KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAR
OF IT.
7. MAINTAIN PROPER FOOTING AND BALANCE when operating the tool. Use short handle
strokes. Don’t overreach; don’t force the tool. Too much tension can break the strap.
CUTTING STRAPS
When cutting a tensioned strap, stand to one side of the strap being
cut, and hold the strap against the package above the cutter, as in
