I. Introduction:

The CMP2000Z is comp a tibl e wit h b oth the C AT a nd iC AT m an agem ent s o ftwar e a nd t he

II. The CMP2000Z has a slightly different layout, compared to the MP -02A. N o l on ger i s ther e a 1 080i

output: Vi de o outp ut has chan ged t o 720p ( 128 0 x 72 0) Y PbPr or VGA out put.
No full screen playback: now changed to m ultiple zones. No jpeg transition
effects: Full screen changes only.

III. Screen Layout:

Multi ple zones include the followi ng: top ba nner, vid eo, image, ti me and bott om RSS zo ne
(see figure 1 and figure 2). All resolution sizes are fixed.

Top Zone (12 80x100): F or c ompany logo or any im age in j peg for mat

onto the next image.
Time Zone (720x80) Default is date and time, but also allows a still image to dis play if needed.
RSS Z Zone (1280x60): Display RSS news ticker or scrolling text or can display image.

IV. Softwar e Util ity “J PG2Y UV. exe”

All files except, ‘Video Z one’, must be conver ted to YUV format befor e loading the files onto
the play er . A s o ftw are util i ty“ j p g2y uv” is pr ovi d e d for s uc h a c o nvers i o n. Pl e as e r efe r to
figure 3 for an example.

Use any picture editing softwar e to create a banner or logo image file in JPG or BMP format, i.e.
Photoshop or paint brush. To maintain the best quality, try to remain within the guidelines provided.

Jpg2yuv.exe will scale to fit if the image is not the exact res olution. A 1:1 rati o is recommended for
minimal distortion.

YUV Viewer : point to any YU V file and i mage will be displ ayed on pr eview wi ndow.
If jpeg is not conver ted to YUV, then those jpeg files w ill go to the Video Zone when di splayed

Choose the prop er jpeg fil es to be us ed and save to t he design ated fold ers

File names will have a few letters added to deter mi ne which zones the files will go i nto.
Please refer to the example below.

Top Zone:

The files that were converted to YUV and added to the playlist will be played. YUV files
can be in any order as long as they are at the beginning of the playlist.

VI. Image Zone:

Browse for proper j peg files and click “save” to any designated folder .
<filename>.jpg => <filename >.yuv extension only
All image .yuv files can be a dde d t o the playlist. File order will be th e s am e as play back
order. Each image will last for 10 seconds then proceed onto the next image and loop.
There is no relation to video payback.

VII. Time Zone:

The default for this section will displ ay date and time. The date and time format can be
selected from the Setup/ Preference section.
Date format: mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or yyyy/mm/dd
Time form at is as follows: 12H or 24H
Date/Time zon e can be r eplaced wi th ano ther imag e by loadi ng an mz.y uv file. If the mz. yuv
file is r em o v ed fr om t h e playlist, then the d at e/ time will ap p ear again.

VIII. Video Zone:

Media file form at suppor ted are M PEG2 .mp g, .vob an d M PEG4 .avi, .xvi d, .div x
Video so urc e is 20 x480 SD res olu tion. Jpeg s ourc e wi ll be s cal ed to 72 0x 480.
Multiple Zones feature will consum e more CPU bandwidth to pr ocess multiple data. I f video
playback has a jerk, mosaic effect, or non sm ooth situation, then please use v ideo editor
tool to lower bitrate.
