SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Windows 8/8.1/10 32/64bit, Mac OS 10.x and higher – automatic installation of
drivers from the syste m.
A free Thunderbolt 3 port.

M.2 DISC HARDWARE INSTALLATION

Go on acc ording to the following instr uctions:

1.

Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the frame and remove the cover.

2.

Remove the mounting screw for the mainboard disc.

3.

Inser t the M.2 disc so that the cut-out in the disc cor responds to the cut- out
on the M.2 connector. Th en screw the M.2 drive from the other side to the base
plate.

Screw the bottom cover on using 4 screws

5.

Now the device is ready for use.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

Windows 8/8.1/10 32/6 4bit or Mac OS 10.x and higher

When connected to the computer, the device is detected and drivers are
automatically installed from the system. In the Windows system, the operating
system asks you if you want to enable the ThunderBolt 3 device. For proper
operation of the frame select the Always enable device option. If this does not
happen, you need to download the Thunderbolt 3 drivers from the Intel website.
After installing the mentioned drivers, the frame should work correctly.

Remark: The case surface can be warmed up during operation. It is a usual
operational feature and doesn’t mean a defect. This warming-up is caused by
cooling the electronics inside the case. We recommend not covering the case by
things.

Remark: To ensure correct function of the device, rstly it is necessary to format

the disc. Proceed according to the below mentioned instructions. As far as the
disc was e arlier use d, it may not b e a necessit y. By disc form atting, y ou will always
lose already saved data. We reco mmend that you save imp ortant or valuable data
in more than one discs or other data recording media.

Quick Start

FORMATTING A NEW HDD

1.

Click with the right button on „Desktop”.

2.

Select „Administrate“.

3.

Click on „Disc administration“.

4.

Select HDD with the marking „Unassigned“ or „U ninitialize d“ and with the

specied capacity of the inser ted disc (usually a number lower by same digit

places is displayed).

5.

Provided the disc is not initialized, click on the lef t eld by the right but ton

and select „Initialize disc“.

6.

Click with the right button on the area of the disc and select „New simple

bunch“, click on „Next“.

7.

Leave the maximum bunch size and click on „Next“.

8.

Select „Assign a letter of the unit“ and click on „Nex t“.

9.

Select „Format the bunch with the following set ting“ (leave the initial

settings). Click on „Next “ and „Finish“.

10.

HDD will be formatted. The duration of formatting depends on the HDD size;

after wards the HDD will be viewable in the system.

FAQ

Question: The operation system hasn’t detecte d the case.
Answer: Connect the device to other Thunderbolt 3 port.

Question: M.2 disc is not viewable in the system.
Answer: Please sure that M.2 has been formatted.

Question: The case cover is heated up during operation.
Answer: Heating up of the cove r, mainly during intensive recording, is a usual

feature and doesn’t mean a defect. The cover cools down the inside electronics
of the case and M.2 disc. We recommend ensuring an access for air into the case
and don’t cover it unnecessarily by other things.

Question: The M.2 drive cannot be inserted.
Answer: The frame is only for PCIe-based (NVMe) disc drives. You cannot use

SSD-based (NGFF) disc drives. These sockets and technologies are different.

HARDWAREINSTALLATION DER M.2 FESTPLATTE

Befolgen Sie die nachfolgenden Anweisungen:

1.

Lösen Sie die 4 Sc hrauben an der Unterseite des Gehäuses und entfernen Sie
die Abdeckung.

2.

Lösen Sie die Sc hraube, um die Festplatte von der Systemplatine zu
befestigen.

3.

Legen Sie die M.2-Festplatte so ein, dass d er Ausschnitt in der Festplatte dem
Ausschnitt am M.2-Anschluss entspricht. Dann die M.2-Scheibe auf de r anderen
Seite auf die Grundplatte schrauben.

4.

Schrauben Sie die untere Abdeckung mit 4 Schrauben fest

5.

Jetzt ist das Gerät betriebsbereit.

Nach dem Anschließen des Geräts an den Computer, werden die Treiber
automatisch vom System installiert.. Unter Windows werden Sie vom
Betriebssystem gefragt, ob Sie ThunderBolt 3-Geräte aktivieren möchten. Wählen
Sie: Gerät immer aktivieren - für einen ordnungsgemäßen Gehäusebetrieb. Wenn
dies nicht der Fall ist, müssen Sie die Thunderbolt 3-Treiber von der Intel-Website
herunterladen. Nach der Installation der genannten Treiber sollte das Gehäuse
problemlos funktionieren.

Bem.: Im Betrieb kann die Oberäc he des Gehäuses warm werden. Es ist eine

übliche Betriebseigenschaft. Sie stellt keinen Fehlzustand dar. Auf diese Weise
wird die Elektronik im Gehäuse gekühlt. Wir empfehlen, das Gehäuse nicht mit
Gegenständen abzudecken.

Bem.: Damit das Gerät richtig funktioniert, ist es nötig, die Festplatte zu
formatieren. Befolgen Sie die nachfolgenden Anweisungen. Falls die Festplat te
vorher schon benutzt wurde, muss es nicht nötig sein. Durch Formatieren
gehen die schon gespeicherten Daten verloren. Es ist empfehlenswert, wichtige
oder wertvolle Daten auf mehrere Festplatten oder andere Speichermedien zu
speichern.

Quick Start

FORMATIEREN DER NEUEN FESTPLATTE

1.

Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf „Mein Compute r“.

2.

Wählen Sie „Bearbeiten“.

3.

Klicken Sie auf „Festplat tenverwaltung“.

4.

Wählen Sie die Festplatte, bei der „ nicht zugeordnet“ beziehungsweise „nicht

initialisiert“ und die Kapazität der einge legten Festplatte e ntspricht (es wird um

ein paar Reihen weniger angezeigt).

5.

Wenn die Festplatte nicht initialisier t ist, klicken Sie mit der rechter

Maustaste im linken Feld und wählen Sie „Festplatte initialisieren“.

6.

Klicken Sie mit der rechter Maustaste auf den Bereich der Festplatte und

wählen Sie „Neuer einfach er Bund“, klicken Sie auf „Weiter“.

7.

Die Grö ße des Bundes lassen Sie auf Maximum und klicken auf „Weiter “.

8.

Wählen Sie „Buchstaben der Einheit zuordne n“ und klicken Sie auf „Weiter“.

9.

Wählen Sie „Bund mit folgender Einstellung formatieren“ ( belassen sie die

Werkse instellung). Klicken Sie auf „Weiter“ und „ Beenden“.

10.

HDD wird formatiert. Die Fo rmatierungszeit hängt von der Größe de r

Festplatte ab. Danach ist die Festplatte im S ystem sichtbar.

FAQ

Frage: Das Gehäuse wird im Betriebssystem nicht angezeig t.
Antwort: Sc hließen Sie das Gerät an einen anderen Thunderbolt 3 an.

Frage: M.2 Festplatte ist im System nicht sichtbar.
Antwort: Überprüfen Sie, ob sie formatiert ist.

Frage: Deckel des Gehäuses wird im Betrieb warm.
Antwort: Erwärme n des Deckels vor allem bei einem intensiven Datenschreiben

ist eine übliche Eigenschaft und stellt keinen Fehlzustand dar. Über den Deckel
werden die innere Elektronik des Gehäuses und die M.2 Festplatte gekühlt.
Wir empfehlen dem Gehäuse Luftzugang zu sichern und es nicht unnötiger weise
mit anderen Gegenständen zuzudecken.

Frage: M.2-Festplat te kann nicht eingelegt werden.
Antwort: Das Gehäuse ist nur für PCIe-basierte (NVMe) Festplatten geeignet.

Sie können keine SSD -basierten (NGFF) Festplatten verwenden. Dies sind
verschiedene Sockets und Technologien.
