CAUTION !
Carefully read the contents of this manual before starting the equipment.
Although this equipment is designed and constructed respecting the most up-to-date safety
standards, the X-ray source always constitutes a danger when the operator is not qualified or
informed. Excessive exposure to X-rays causes bodily damage.
Therefore all precautions must be taken to avoid unauthorized and unqualified persons using
this apparatus so constituting a danger to themselves and others.
Before carrying out any operation, the persons qualified and authorized to use this equipment must be informed about the protection measures established by the International
Commission on Radiological Protection and the relevant national standards.
The X-ray emission control point must be in a zone screened from radiation.
If it is necessary to move into the immediate equipment area during an exposure, put on
X-ray protection garments.
The company refuses all liability for consequences following interventions made by unauthorized personnel.
The equipment must not be used for any purposes other than those intended.
The company refuses all liability if authorized personnel do not adhere to the requirements
contained in this manual during the performance of their tasks.
If abnormalities or malfunctions occur that cannot be resolved as indicated in this manual the
authorized person is to consult the equipment manufacturer for the necessary relevant instructions:

2 DESCRIPTION
The BS 45 is a compact vertical Bucky complete with mobile grid and long vertical travel, designed for radiographic examinations of patients in the upright position and on patient trolleys.

IDENTIFICATION
An identification data plate is positioned above left Fig. 1 indicating equipment code, series,
number and other necessary information.
When requesting maintenance or replacement parts it is always necessary to give this information.

- Grid to customer's specifications.
- “Potentiometer” kit for automatic Bucky tracking.

Disposal must conform with the local laws in force.
4 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
→ Release the Bucky's vertical movement by operating the
release button, positioned on the top of the handle Pos.
→ Position the patient and the Bucky, keeping the release
button pressed.
→ Halt the Bucky by releasing the button Pos. c.
→ Centre the X-ray tube
→ Pull out the cassette holder Pos.
→ Position the securing spring in the special seating for the
radiographic cassette format used.

→ Close the clamps.
→ Lock the clamps with the securing device e Fig. 2
→ Insert the cassette holder c Fig. 2 into the Bucky.
→ Ensure that the BS45 accessory has been correctly inserted on the X-Ray generator
→ Open the clamps. d Fig. 2
→ Insert the radiographic cassette

→ Perform the X-ray exposure
→ Pull out the cassette holder
→ Turn the locking lever Pos.
→ Remove the radiographic cassette.
→ Push the cassette holderc Fig. 2 into the Bucky.

5 CLEANING, ROUTINE AND NON-ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
• Only clean the painted surfaces using a slightly dampened cloth and neutral detergent, dry
with a dry cloth, do not use solvents (benzine, alcohol, acetone, etc.), corrosive and abrasive agents. Do not use acids to clean the floor.
• The routine and non-routine maintenance must be carried out only by the manufacturer's
personnel or personnel authorized by them, and following the maintenance manual. Routine maintenance is to be made annually.
• The company refuses all liability following interventions by persons other than those described above.
