Der i-soamp 4CoolBlue ist ein 4 Kanal Car-Audio Verstärker, der speziell für den Einsatz in Fahrzeugen mit fest eingebautem (OEM) Autoradio konzipiert wurde. Eine spezielle Adapterlinie ermöglicht den Anschluss an Radios, ohne aufwändige Verkabelungsarbeiten, in mehr als 2.500 Fahrzeugtypen. Darüber hinaus kann der i-soamp auch mit handelsüblichen Autoradios (Aftermarket) betrieben werden. Verschiedene Einstell- & Anpassungsmöglichkeiten machen den isoamp zu einem Allround-Plug & Play Verstärker-Genie im Auto. Bitte lesen Sie vor der Installation und Inbetriebnahme diese Anleitung sorgfältig durch, um Bedienungsfehler zu vermeiden. Im Zweifelsfall wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Fachhändler.

Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch:

Der i-soamp 4CoolBlue Verstärker ist ausschließlich für den Betrieb in Fahrzeugen am 12V Kfz-Bordnetz und am Original Lautsprecher Kabelbaum sowie mit Original i-sotec Adapterkabeln und i-sotec Subwoofern (optional) vorgesehen. Andere Adapterkabel und Subwoofer können das Gerät beschädigen. Der i-soamp nimmt die Audiosignale des OEM-Radios auf und führt sie den Fahrzeuglautsprechern verstärkt wieder zu.

The i-soamp 4CoolBlue is a 4-channel digital amplifier specifically designed for use in cars with integrated (OEM) car radios. A complete adaptor range permits connections without extensive cabling work to more than 2.500 vehicle models. The i-soamp can, of course, can be operated with any standard commercial car radio (aftermarket), too. Various adjustment and adaptation possibilities make the i-soamp an allround plug & play genius for your car. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and operation to avoid operating problems. In case of doubt, please consult your specialist dealer.

Intended use:

The i-soamp 4CoolBlue is exclusively intended for operation in a car with a 12V electrical system and the original loudspeaker cable harness. It takes the audio signals of the OEM radio and conducts them to the vehicle loudspeakers in amplified form.

A | Einbau-Anleitung

Achten Sie bei der Installation unbedingt auf eine gute Belüftung des i-soamp 4CoolBlue. Er darf nicht abgedeckt oder in der Nähe anderer Wärme abstrahlender Gegenstände montiert oder direkter Sonneneinstrahlung ausgesetzt werden! Der i-soamp kann sich selbst erwärmen (bis zu 80°C), daher ist auf ausreichenden Abstand zu anderen wärmeempfindlichen Fahrzeugteilen (insbesondere Kunststoffteile und elektronische Komponenten) zu achten! Aus Sicherheitsgründen muss das Gerät im Fahrzeug fixiert werden. Befestigen Sie das Gerät mit dem mitgelieferten Doppel-Klettband auf einem festen und geeigneten Untergrund. Achten Sie auf Kabelbäume und Benzinleitungen!

A.1 ANSCHLUSS

Der i-soamp 4CoolBlue wird mit dem Original i-sotec Anschlusskabel direkt an den Fahrzeug-Kabelbaum sowie an das Originalradio angeschlossen. Bei Fahrzeugtypen ohne ISO-Anschluss, wird hierfür ein Fahrzeugspezifischer Adapter benötigt.

A | Installation Guide

When installing the equipment, be sure that it is well ventilated. It may not be covered or mounted near heat emitting objects or be subjected to direct sunlight. The i-soamp can heat up significantly (up to 80°C); it is therefore important to ensure sufficient clearance from other heat sensitive vehicle components (particulary plastic parts and electronic components)! For safety reasons, the device must be securely mounted in the vehicle. Attach the device with the supplied mounting screws to a firm and suitable base. Do not drill holes in parts of the vehicle if you are not sure what is located behind it. Watch out for wiring harnesses and fuel lines!!!

A.1 Connection

The i-soamp 4CoolBlue is connected directly to the vehicle cable harness and to the original radio with an adapter. Vehicle models without an ISO connection require a special vehicle specific adapter for this purpose.

Please consult www.i-sotec.com whether you need an additional adapter to connect the i-soamp to your vehicle.

A.2 Ist-Situation

2.1

Radio-Adapter AD-0123-UNI

Entfernen Sie das Originalradio gemäß Anleitung des Fahrzeugherstellers aus dem Radioschacht, damit Sie den rückseitigen Anschluss erreichen können. Entfernen Sie die Original Fahrzeugspezifische Steckverbindung. Den passenden Radio-Adapter für Ihr Fahrzeug (wenn erforderlich), können Sie über www.i-sotec.com ermitteln.

Beschreibung Fahrzeugspezifischer Adapter

Der Fahrzeugspezifische Radio-Adapter (z.B. AD-0123-UNI) ist das Bindeglied zwischen Radio-Unit, der Original Fahrzeugverkabelung und dem i-soamp Verstärker. Er ist so konfiguriert, dass alle Funktionen der Lenkrad-Fernbedienung vollständig erhalten bleiben.

Der Radio-Adapter ist darüber hinaus mit den für die i-soamp Verstärker erforderlichen Verbindungen 1. ISO-Lautsprecher Stecker / Buchse (braun) sowie 2. ISO-Strom (gelb | rot | schwarz) ausgestattet. Letzterer kann auf zwei Arten konfiguriert werden (Bilder 2.1. & 2.2):

Strom ohne ISO-Stromadapter (Bild 2.1)

Bei dieser Variante (Typ A) sind am RadioAdapter, z.B. bei einem AD-0123-UNI, drei separate Kabel-Verbindungen – rot (12V Dauerstrom) – gelb (12V Dauerstrom) & schwarz (Masse) – herausgeführt. Je nach Fahrzeugmodell wird entweder die rote (i.d.R. bei Ford-Modellen) oder die gelbe Verbindung (andere Fahrzeuge) benötigt, um die Spannungs-Versorgung zum i-soamp Verstärker herzustellen.

Wir empfehlen zur Überprüfung im Vorfeld eine Messung rot bzw. gelb gegen Masse.

A.2 Situation as it is:

Remove the original radio from the radio slot according to the vehicle manufacturer's instructions so you can reach the terminals on the back side of the radio. Unlock the connector by pressing together or pulling it and remove it. The suitable radio-adaptor for your vehicle can be detect via www.i-sotec.com.

Description vehicle specific adaptor

The particular radio adaptor (e.g. AD-0123-UNI) is the essential link between radio-unit, the original car harness cable and the i-soamp amplifier. It is configurated as all functions of the steering-wheel remote remains primary.

Furthermore the radio adaptor is equipped with the required connectors for the i-soamp amplifier, especially ISO speaker connector (brown) and ISO harness (black). The last one can be configurated in two different

ways (pics 2.1 & 2.2):

ISO power without ISO-Power adaptor (Pic. 2.1)

At this alternative the radio adaptor, especially the AD-0123-UNI, has three separate cableconncectors (red – 12V permanent | yellow – 12V permanent | black – ground). According to the car model the red cable (only Ford cars) or the yellow one (other car models) will be

required, to supply the i-soamp with power.

We recommend a check for preparation a DC-Test as follows: red or yellow against ground.

Radio-Adapter AD-0132

(nicht im Lieferumgang enthalten)

Typ B des Radio-Adapters (z.B. AD-0132) ist anders konfiguriert. Statt der drei zusätzlich herausgeführten Kabel-Verbindungen im AdapterGehäuse – rot (12V Dauerstrom) – gelb (12V Dauerstrom) – schwarz (Masse) – sind je ein ISO-Stecker / ISO-Buchse (schwarz) vorhanden.

ACHTUNG: Die ISO-Steckverbinder (schwarz)

nicht zusammenstecken. Um bei diesem oder ähnlichen Adaptern die

Spannungsversorgung herzustellen, wird der ISO-Stromadapter (3) zwischen diese schwarzen ISO-Stecker & -buchse gesteckt. Der ISO-Stromadapter ist mit den zusätzlichen drei Kabelverbindungen (rot | gelb | schwarz - s.a. Bild 2.1) ausgestattet.

Der ISO-Stromadapter wird bei jedem i-soamp Verstärker mitgeliefert. Alternativ kann er bei der OnlineBestellung separat angefordert werden.

ISO power with ISO-Power adapter (Pic. 2.2)

This adapter alternative (e.g. AD-0132) is different. Instead of the three separate cables red | yellow (12V) and black (ground) you´ll only find

ISO connector & female one (black).

Attention: Don´t plug togehter the black

connectors. To supply the i-soamp amplifier with power by using

this or a similar type of adapter, a specific ISO power adapter is required. This ISO power adaptor is equipped with the necessary three cable connectors (red | yellow & black – see pic 2.1).

The ISO power adapter is automatically a component of delivery scope of each i-soamp amplifier. Alternatively you can request it seperately within your online order.

Die Darstellung (3.1) zeigt die einzelnen Schritte, wie der i-soamp 4CoolBlue grundsätzlich mit der Radio-Unit im Fahrzeug, verbunden wird: 1 Radio-Unit ausbauen. Je nach Fahrzeugtyp ist die Unit als Black-Box

ausgelagert, z.B. oberhalb des Handschuhfachs (Renault Kadjar u.a.) oder im Kofferraumseitenteil (z.B. Touareg 2). Ihre Fachwerkstatt kann Ihnen hierzu nützliche Hinweise geben.

4 Stromversorgung des 4CoolBlue (12V

Dauerplus – gelb – und Masse – schwarz –) zum Radio-Adapter herstellen. Je nach Adapter- Typ (A / B - s.u. A.2), ist der mitgelieferten ISO-Strom-Adapter erforderlich (Details zum Stromanschluss siehe A.5 und A.6)

Alternativer Anschluss mit Remote:

5. In wenigen Fällen (insbesondere bei Radiomodellen von vor 1999) ist ein zusätzliches Remote-Kabel erforderlich, um den Verstärker einzuschalten. Verbinden Sie dazu einen geschalteten 12V Ausgang, z.B. (Remote-Out, Zündung, elektrische Antenne o.ä.) mit dem Remote-Eingang des i-soamp.

TIPP: Lesen Sie unbedingt die folgenden Kapitel, bevor Sie mit dem

Anschließen beginnen, um die Details der einzelnen Anschlussvarianten zu erfahren.

A.3 Overview: The i-soamp connection principle

This depiction 3.1 is designed to give you an overview of how the isoamp is connected to your vehicle's components in principle. The following steps are required to connect the 4CoolBlue to your existing car radio unit:

1 1 Restore the radio. Dependent on the car type this unit is transferred,

e.g. in the glove box or the trunk (e.g. VW Touareg 2). Your car dealer

will give you helpful information.

2 2 Remove the vehicle harness cable from the

radio unit. Connect then the vehicles specific radio adapter (e.g. AD-0123-UNI) between radio and car harness cable. Connect now the ISOloudspeaker coupling (brown) of the i-soamp cable harness with the ISO speaker plugs of the radio adapter (brown). 3 Connect the i-soamp cable harness to the compact plug at the i-soamp 4CoolBlue. 4 Build the power supply between 4CoolBlue and the radio adapter. According to the configuration of the vehicles specific adapter (see A2) the supplied ISO power adapter is necessary in any case. (For details on the power connection see chapter A.5 and A.6)

Connect remote as alternative:

5. In some cases (mostly old car radios) it is necessary to use an extra remote-wire to switch on the amplifier. Simply connect a switched battery signal (ignition, electric antenna, remote out or similar) to the remoteinput of the i-soamp.

HINT: In any case, be sure to read the following chapter before you start

connecting the i-soamp to find out about the details of the individual connection options.

Der i-soamp 4CoolBlue verstärkt Front- & Rear-Lautsprecher (Wahlschalter 6 steht auf „4 channel“). Die Front-Speaker können dafür

frequenzmäßig zwischen 40 bis 250 Hz über den „front freq. Regler 2“ und die hinteren über den „rear freq. Regler 1“ beeinflusst werden. Die max. Lautstärke wird

dabei über die Regler 3 & 4 eingestellt

Nach dem Ausbau des Radios:

1. Verbinden Sie den Kompakt-Stecker des System-Anschluss-Kabels mit dem i-soamp 4 CoolBlue. (Foto 4.1)

2.HINWEIS: Verwenden Sie ausschließlich

i-sotec Subwoofer! Andere Woofer können aufgrund falscher Impedanz den i-soamp beschädigen!

3. Lösen Sie den Original Fahrzeug-Kabelbaum vom Radio und verbinden diesen mit dem Radio-Adapter (z.B. AD-0123-UNI)

4. Nehmen Sie das freie Ende des i-soamp System-Anschluss-Kabels und verbinden die Lautsprecher Stecker & /-Buchse (braun) mit dem Radio-Adapter.

A.4 Connection description 4 channel:

The i-soamp 4CoolBlue poweres the front & rear speakers (selector switch 6 is in position “4 channel”). The front speaker will be influenced

by the “front freq controller 2” and the rear ones by „rear freq. controller

1“. Max. volume will be adjusted via the

controller “3” & “4”

Steps after removing the radio-unit:

1. Connect the i-soamp cable harness with its compact plug with the i-soamp 4CoolBlue (see pic. 4.1)

2. ADVISE: Exclusively use only i-sotec subwoofer. Other woofer can

damage the i-soamp due to wrong impedance.

3. Remove the original vehicle cable from the factory radio-unit und connect it with the specific radio-adapter (e.g. AD-0123-UNI)

4. Use the free end of the i-soamp cable harness and connect speaker cabel & receptable (brown) with the radio-adapter.

5. The power connection is performed in accordance with chapter A.5 and/or A.6.

6. Hints concerning the “level” controller 3 & 4 see chapter 8 (adjustments)

7. Function & adjustment regarding i-phase controller 6 see chapter 9

Bei dieser Variante werden die vorderen Lautsprecher und der optionale Subwoofer mit dem 4CoolBlue angetrieben. Die hinteren Lautsprecher

Subwoofer wird über den Regler „level rear 3“ geregelt. Nachdem ISO-Anschluss-Kabel mit dem Kompaktstecker am i-soamp

verbunden ist, werden Lautsprecher & Subwoofer wie folgt angeschlossen:

1. Lösen Sie den Original Fahrzeug-Kabelbaum vom Radio und

verbinden diesen mit dem Radio-Adapter (z.B. AD-0123-UNI)

2. Nehmen Sie nun das freie Ende des i-soamp System-

Anschluss-Kabels und verbinden Lautsprecher Stecker & /Buchse (braun) mit den entsprechenden Steckverbindungen des Radio-Adapters.

3. Lösen SIE nun die 4-poligen Stecker und verbinden diese

dann, wie auf der Abbildung 5.1 zu sehen ist (grün auf grün).

4. Schließen Sie den Subwoofer mit dem zugehörigen

Anschlusskabel (AD-0126) am rot markierten 4-poligen Stecker des i-soamp-Kabelbaums an (auch Abb 5.1).

5. Stromanschluss siehe Kapitel A.5 bzw. A.6.

HINWEIS: Verwenden Sie ausschließlich i-sotec

Subwoofer! Andere Lautsprecher können den

i-soamp beschädigen! Der Wahlschalter (6) wird bei dieser Anschlussvariante auf die Position „front + sub“ gestellt. In dieser

Schalterposition werden die Filter für den Basslautsprecher & die vorderen Lautsprecher automatisch aktiviert. Die Pegeleinstellung für die vorderen Lautsprecher erfolgt über den Regler „level front 4“. Der

With this connection, the front speakers and the optional subwoofer are driven by the i-soamp. The back speakers can be driven furthermore directly through the radio by switching the 4-pinned plugs (see picture right hand | description below).

HINT: Do only use original i-sotec subwoofers! Other speakers may

damage the i-soamp.

The selector switch (6) is turned to “front + sub” position. This means that the active filters required for subwoofer operation are automatically activated.

The volume basic setting for the front speakers is done with the front level control “4”. The

subwoofer level is adjusted via the rear level control “3”.

After the i-soamp cable harness has been connected to the compact plug on the i-soamp, the loudspeakers & the subwoofer are connected as follows:

1. Remove the original vehicle cable from the factory radio-unit und connect it with the specific radio-adapter (e.g. AD-0123-UNI)

2. Use the free end of the i-soamp cable harness and connect speaker cabel & receptable (brown) with the radio-adapter.

3. Disconnect the 4-pin plugs and connect them as seen at the picture (green one to green – see pic. 5.1).

4. Connect the i-sotec subwoofer with its delivered cable (AD-

0126) to the fitting plug (red – pic 5.1.) on the i-soamp’s cable harness.

5. The power connection is performed in accordance with chapter A.5 and/or A.6.

A.5 Anschluss der Spannungsversorgung

Radio-Adapter AD-0132

Der i-soamp 4CoolBlue wird mit einem ISO-Stromadapter (3) ausgeliefert, welcher in zwei Fällen (A5.1 / A5.2) benötigt wird, um die Spannungsversorgung herzustellen:

A5.1 Werks-Radio mit ISO-Anschluss (Bild 5.1)

1. ISO-Stromstecker vom Autoradio trennen und an die ISOStromkupplung des ISO Stromadapters anschließen.

2. Die beiden 1-poligen Stecker (gelb & schwarz) am Kabelbaum des i-soamp mit den zwei 1-poligen Kupplungen (gelb & schwarz) am Stromadapter verbinden.

3. ISO-Stromstecker des i-sotec Stromadapters mit der ISO-Stromkupplung des Autoradios verbinden.

HINWEIS: Sollte der 4CoolBlue bei ausgeschalteter

Zündung nicht einschalten, muss die gelbe mit der roten Steckverbindung des ISO-Stromsteckers getauscht werden.

Die korrekte Zuordnung ist im Zweifelsfall mit einem Voltmeter zu testen. Diejenige 1-polige Kupplung (rot oder gelb), an der auch bei ausgeschalteter Zündung +12V Spannung gegen Masse gemessen wird, ist mit dem zugehörigen 1-poligen Stecker des i-soamp Kabels zu verbinden.

A5.2 Fahrzeugspezifischer Adapter Typ B (z.B. AD-0132 - Bild 5.2)

1. Fahrzeug-Kabelbaum vom Werks-Radio lösen und den Fahrzeug spezifischen Adapter (Typ B) mit Kabelbaum und Radio verbinden

2. ISO-Stromadapter 3 (Stecker / Buchse - schwarz) mit dem StromStecker / Buchse des Radio-Adapters verbinden.

3. Die 1-poligen Stecker (gelb & schwarz) am i-soamp Kabelbaum mit den 1-poligen Kupplungen (gelb und schwarz) am Stromadapter verbinden.

HINWEIS: Sollte der 4CoolBlue bei ausgeschalteter

Zündung nicht einschalten, muss die gelbe mit der roten Steckverbindung des ISO-Stromsteckers getauscht werden.

Die korrekte Zuordnung ist im Zweifelsfall mit einem Voltmeter zu testen. Die 1-polige Kupplung (rot oder gelb) an der bei ausgeschalteter Zündung +12V Spannung gegen Masse gemessen wird, ist mit dem gleichfarbigen 1poligen Stecker des i-soamp Kabels zu verbinden.

A.5 Connection to the power supply

The i-soamp is supplied with an ISO power adapter as standard equipment. It is only required in two means (A5.1 / A5.2) to maintain the power supply for the 4CoolBlue.

A7.1. Radio unit with ISO connectors (pic 5.1)

1. Remove the vehicle cable harness ISO power plug from the car radio and connect it to the ISO power receptacle of the

i-sotec power adapter.

2. Connect the two 1-pole plugs (yellow & black) at the cable harness of the i-soamp to the two 1-pole receptacle at the power adapter (yellow & black).

3. Connect the ISO power plug of the i-sotec power adapter to the ISO power receptacle of the car radio.

HINT: Maybe you must change the yellow with the

red cable of the ISO power plug, if the i-soamp 4CoolBlue does not switch on.

In case of doubt, the correct assignment can be checked with a voltmeter. The 1-pin coupling (yellow or red) at which one measures against ground even with switched off ignition +12V voltage, is to be connected to the corresponding 1-pin plug.

A5.2 Specific radio adaptor type B (z.B. AD-0132 - pic 5.2)

1. Separate the car harness cable from the radio and connect the adaptor type B with the cable harness and the radio

2. Connect ISO power adapter with connector at receptacle of the specific radio adapter (type B).

3. Conjoin the 1-pin coupling (yellow or red) of the i-soamp harness cable with 1pin coupling of the ISO power plug

HINT: Maybe you must change the yellow with the

red cable of the ISO power plug, if the i-soamp 4CoolBlue does not switch on.

In case of doubt, the correct assignment can be checked with a voltmeter. The 1-pin coupling (yellow

or red) at which one measures against ground even with switched off ignition +12V voltage, is to be connected to the corresponding 1-pin plug

1. Fahrzeug-Kabelbaum vom Radio lösen und Adapter (Typ A) mit Kabelbaum und Radio verbinden.

2. Steckverbindungen gelb & schwarz des i-soamp Kabelbaums mit den separat herausgeführten Anschlüssen gelb (rot) und schwarz des RadioAdapters direkt verbinden.

3. Wichtig: Der mitgelieferte ISO-Stromadapter hat hierbei keine Funktion und wird nicht verwendet.

HINWEIS: Sollte der 4CoolBlue bei ausgeschalteter Zündung nicht

einschalten, muss die gelbe mit der roten Steckverbindung des ISOStromsteckers getauscht werden.

A.6 Direkter Anschluss an die Auto-Batterie

i-soamp Verstärker müssen u.U. direkt an die Fahrzeug-Batterie angeschlossen werden. Insbesondere dann, wenn die Spannungsversorgung über den mitgelieferten ISO-Stromadapter bzw. optionalen Fahrzeug spezifischen Radio-Adapter nicht ausreicht. i-sotec empfiehlt hierbei die Verwendung des optional erhältlichen 12V Stromanschlusskabels AD-0125.

Wichtig: Vor dem Anschluss des i-soamp Gerätes an

das 12V Bordnetz Ihres Fahrzeuges, muss die Fahrzeugbatterie abgeklemmt werden! Danach:

1. Das Stromanschlusskabel (AD-0125) im Fahrzeug so verlegen, dass das Kabelende mit den Adaptersteckern (rot & schwarz) am Ende des i-soamp Kabelbaums und das andere Ende in der Nähe der Autobatterie liegt. Das Kabel sollte möglichst knickfrei verlegt werden. Kontakt mit scharfkantigen Blechteilen ist zu vermeiden, die Verwendung von Gummi-Durchführungen wird empfohlen.

A5.3 specific radio adapter type A (e.g. AD-023-UNI – pic. 5.3)

1. Separate the car harness cable from the radio and connect the adaptor type A with the cable harness and the radio

2. connect the 1-pin couples (yellow & black) of the i-soamp cable harness with the separate plugs red/ yellow and black of the radio adapter directly

3. Important: The equipped ISO power adapter is without function and remains unused

HINT: Maybe you must change the yellow with the

red cable of the ISO power plug, if the i-soamp 4CoolBlue does not switch on.

A.6 Direct connection to the car battery

Under certain circumstances, the i-soamp amplifiers must be connected directly to your car battery. This is due to the cases if there is any trouble

with covering the power requirement of the i-soamp amplifier with the supplied ISO power adapter or respectively the specific radio adapter. In these cases i-sotec recommends using an optional available i-sotec power-connector-cable AD-0125.

Important: Before connecting the device to your car

12 V electrical system, be sure to disconnect the battery! Thereafter:

1. The power connector cable (AD-0125) must be run within the vehicle so that the end of the cable with the adapter plug is located at the end of the i-soamp cable harness and the other cable end near the car battery. It is important to ensure that the cable is run without kinks. Avoid contact with sharp edged metal parts; rubber grommets are recommended.

Anmerkung: Das schwarze Kabel des Stromanschlusskabels dient

zum Herstellen des Massekontaktes, das rote Kabel wird für den Anschluss an +12V Dauerplus verwendet.

2. Zum Anschluss des schwarzen Kabels ist ein geeigneter Massepunkt erforderlich. Dieser muss einwandfreien Kontakt zum Fahrzeug-Chassis haben. Stellen Sie sicher, dass dies der Fall ist, und Sie nicht ein Blech wählen, das evtl. nur ans Fahrzeugchassis geklebt wurde. Das schwarze Kabel wird am Massepunkt angeschlossen, wobei auf guten elektrischen Kontakt zu achten ist. Keinesfalls darf das schwarze Kabel am Minuspol der Fahrzeugbatterie angeschlossen werden.

3. Das rote Kabel wird mit dem Pluspol der Batterie verbunden.

Achtung: Der Betrieb von Car-Audio-Verstärkern erfordert im Plus-

Kabel eine Sicherung in maximal 30cm Entfernung vom Pluspol der Fahrzeug-Batterie (Vorschrift der Versicherungen!). Diese löst bei mechanischer Beschädigung des Kabels und / oder Chassiskontakt des Leiters aus, um Kabelbrand oder ähnliches zu verhindern! Der Wert der Sicherung muss an die gesamte Stromaufnahme der Anlage angepasst sein. Die Sicherung im Kabelbaum des Gerätes schützt nur das Gerät selbst, nicht aber die Batterie und das Fahrzeug!

4. Das i-sotec AD-0125 Strom-Anschluss-Kabel ist mit einem Sicherungshalter und einer entsprechend dimensionierten Sicherung ausgestattet.

5. Nach dem ordnungsgemäßen Anschluss des Stromkabels, kann die Batterie wieder angeklemmt werden.

6. Die Stromanschlussstecker (siehe Foto 6.1 s.o.) am i-soamp Kabelbaum werden mit dem Stromanschlusskabel AD-0125 (B) verbunden.

A.7 Warnhinweise

Die Sicherung am Gerät darf nur mit dem gleichen Wert (20A) ersetzt werden, um eine Beschädigung des Gerätes zu verhindern. Höhere Werte können zu gefährlichen Folgeschäden führen! Der i-soamp kann höhere Leistungen an die vorhandenen Lautsprecher abgeben als an das Original-Radio. Die meisten Lautsprecher können diese problemlos verarbeiten. Bitte gehen Sie dennoch vorsichtig mit den Lautstärke- & Frequenzreglern um. Vermeiden Sie u.a. lang anhaltende, überhöhte Lautstärken, die sich durch einen unangenehmen verzerrten Klang bemerkbar machen, um eine Beschädigung der Lautsprecher zu verhindern. Es wird empfohlen, die Klangregler (Bässe /Höhen) des Autoradios auf

„Neutral“, also in Mittelstellung bzw. „0“ einzustellen. So stellt sich

erfahrungsgemäß der beste und natürlichste Klangeindruck ein; eine Überlastung der Lautsprecher wird in der Regel vermieden.

A.6 Direct connection to the car battery – cont.

Note: The black cable inside the power connector cable is used to

connect to the ground contact; the red cable is used to connect to +12V.

2. A suitable ground connection point on the chassis must be found to connect the black cable. The ground connection point must have perfect contact with the chassis and the battery's negative terminal. Make sure that you have not selected a piece of metal that was only glued to the vehicle chassis. The black cable is connected to the grounding point; make sure there is a good electrical contact.

3. The red cable is connected to the positive terminal of the battery via a suitable fuse.

CAUTION: A main fuse MUST be inserted into the positive cable a

maximum of 12" (= 30cm) distance from the positive battery post (insurance company requirement!). This fuse will blow in the event of mechanical damage to the cable and conductor contact with the chassis to prevent a cable fire or worse! The rating must be appropriate for the total current input of the system. The fuse in the device wiring harness only protects the device itself, but not the battery and the vehicle! Suitable fuse elements can be found in accessories stores.

4. The AD-0125 power cable is just equipped with the required fuse & fuse holder.

5. After the power cable is properly connected, the battery can be reconnected.

6. The power connector cables at the i-soamp cable harness (see photo

6.1 above) are connected to power connector cable AD-0125 (B).

A.7 Caution notice

The fuse for the device may only be replaced with a fuse of the same rating (20A) to avoid damage to the device. Higher value fuses can result in dangerous consequences! The i-soamp can deliver higher output to the existing loudspeakers than the original radio. Most loudspeakers can handle it with no problem. Nevertheless, please be very careful with the volume control. To prevent damage to the loudspeakers, avoid leaving the volume up too high for long periods, which is noticeable by an unpleasant, distorted sound. It is highly recommended to set the car radio's tone controls (bass/treble) to "neutral", i.e. to the center point and/or "0". Experience has shown that this is the best setting for the best and most natural sound and avoids overloading the speakers.

A.8 Level / Frequenz Einstell-Hinweise

Level-Regler „rear | front“ im 4-Kanal Betrieb:

Über die Level-Regler „rear 3“ & „front 4“ wird das Lautstärke-Verhältnis zwischen den vorderen und hinteren Lautsprechern eingepegelt. Gleichzeitig wird die Soll-Lautstärke (bestmögliche Verstärkung) einmal justiert, indem die Regler sehr vorsichtig nach rechts (lauter) und/ oder links (leiser) bewegt werden, bis die höchstmögliche Lautstärke ohne Verzerrung erzeugt werden kann.

Im 3-Kanal Modus „front + sub“ werden die vorderen Lautsprecher über den Regler „4“ und ein Subwoofer über den Regler „3“ eingestellt. Achten SIE bei der Justierung auf eine ausgewogene LautstärkeBalance zwischen den front Lautsprecher & dem Subwoofer.

Frequenz-Regler „freq front 2 & freq rear 3“ | 4-Kanal-Mode

Stellen SIE den Regler “2“ für die Lautsprecher in den vorderen Türen (13, 16 oder 20cm Durchmesser) mit einer Trennfrequenz von 80 bis 150 Hz ein. Den Regler „3“ entsprechend für die Lautsprecher in den hinteren Türen.

Neu - Bass-Boost-Funktion front:

Zwischen 40 und 80 Hz wird die Bass-Boost-Funktion (+2db – 0db) für die vorderen Lautsprecher aktiviert (gut für Kickbässe). Die rear Speaker haben einen festen hi-pass Filter von 80 Hz.

Frequenz-Regler „feq rear 3“ | 3-Kanal Mode (front + sub)

Stellen SIE den Regler „3“ für den Woofer (20 bis 25 cm Durchmesser) zwischen 50 und 80 Hz ein.

A9. i-Phase Funktion / Einstellung

Mit dem i-Phase Regler „5“ stellen SIE - abhängig von dessen Position eine ausgeglichene Lautstärke zwischen den vorderen linken & rechten Lautsprechern her.

Beispiel:

Sie hören die Musik normalerweise aus dem linken Lautsprecher etwas lauter als aus dem rechten, weil das rechte Ohr weiter von der Schallquelle (Lautsprecher) entfernt als das linke.

Mit dem i-Phaser können SIE diesen Lautstärke-Unterschied verändern, damit rechts & links ungefähr gleich laut werden (normales HörEmpfinden).

Praxistipp:

Drehen SIE den i-Phase 6 Regler langsam von links nach rechts, bis sich ein räumlich ausgewogener Klang- & Lautstärkeeindruck einstellt.

A.8 level / frequency adjustment

Level „ rear | front“ in 4-channel mode:

Via controller “rear” 3 & “front” 4 the volume ratio between front & rear speaker will be adjusted. Besides you can adjust the target volume (best amplification). In this mode move the controller carefully to the right (louder) and to the left (quieter), until you reach the highest possible volume without any distortion.

In 3-channel mode “front + sub” you´ll adjust the volume of the front speaker with “4” and the subwoofer with “3”. See for an well concertet volume balance between front speaker & woofer.

Controller “freq. front 2 & freq rear 3 | 4-channel mode”

Practically adjust the frequency level with controller “2”: use 80 – 120 hz for the front speakers (13, 16 or 20cm diameter). Controller “3” has to be used for the rear doors.

NEW – bass boost function

Between the frequency from 40 -80 hz the bass boost function (+2db – 0db) for the front speakers will be activated (use for kick bass). The frequency for the rear speaker is fix to 80 hz (hi-pass).

Frequenz controller „freq rear 3“ | 3-channel (front + sub)

Adjust the frequency (controller 3) for woofer with 20-25cm diameter between 50 – 80 hz.

A9. i-phase function

Herewith you can adjust the balanced volume – depending on the controller position – between the front left & right speakers.

Example:

Normally the music comes a little bit louder from the left speaker than from the right one, because the left ear is nearer by.

With the i-phase shifter you change this unbalanceness, thereby right & left gets nearly the same volume.

Advice:

Turn the i-phase controller slowly from left to right, until have find a balanced sound & volume impression.

B | Bedienungsanleitung i-soamp 4CoolBlue

Schalten Sie das Radio mit geringer Lautstärke ein.

Nach der Funktionskontrolle der einzelnen Lautsprecher stellen Sie eine etwas höhere Lautstärke am Radio ein. Justieren Sie jetzt gegebenenfalls mittels der Level-Regler der Endstufe die Grundlautstärke der Lautsprecher ein. Das Lautstärkeverhältnis von Front- und Rear-Lautsprechern, bzw. Frontspeaker & Subwoofer lassen sich nun mit den entsprechenden Levelreglern (3 & 4) einstellen. Die Trennfrequenzen werden wenn aktiviert - entsprechend über die Frequenzregler (1 & 2) eingestellt.

Turn on the radio with the volume set at low.

After checking the operation of the individual loudspeakers, set the volume of the radio a little higher. If appropriate, use the level adjuster of the power amplifier to adjust basic volume of the loudspeakers. The volume ratio of the front and rear loudspeakers as well as the front speaker & subwoofer can now be adjusted with the corresponding level adjusters (3 & 4). The cut-off frequencies of the speakers can be adjusted with the corresponding frequency adjusters (1 & 2).
