Troubleshooting
Alert doesn’t sound when door or window is opened or closed
Check that the battery has been inserted correctly. The LED light should come on when the Transmitter moves closer to or away from the Magnetic piece. Transmitter may be positioned out of range of the Plug-in Alert. Move the Plug-in Alert closer to the Transmitter. A metallic object may be blocking the signal to the Plug-in Alert from the Transmitter position. Experiment with the location of the Plug-in Alert to see if you can move it to a more suitable place.
Battery in the Transmitter may need replacing.
The Transmitter LED will flash 5 times when the battery needs replacing. See instruction for Installing the Battery. Note: In cold conditions, poor location or environment, operating at maximum range it is advisable to replace the battery more frequently (i.e. every 12-18 months) to maintain optimum performance. Your Transmitter and Plug-in Alert haven’t been programmed. Reset the automatic programming of your Plug-in Alert by pressing and holding down button B (Figure 6) for 5 seconds. The alert will sound indicating the programming has been erased. Program the Transmitter following the installation instructions. For any other problem, call 1-800-296-1869 between 9am and 5pm EST.
