Power b utton
After t he power cable is c onnected to the d evice, the p owe r button
LED wil l immediately g low RED indi cat ing that it is i n STANDBY
mode. To power o n IQ Bo x™, press th e power button on ce. The
power L ED will change fr om RED to WHITE, in a ddition, t he cr oss
featu re on the top of the de vice will also gl ow WHITE. To power off
the IQ Bo x™, press the pow er button once an d the device w ill r eturn
to stan dby mode, long pr ess the button an d the device w ill p ower off.

Recov er button
Recov er button is posi tioned ins ide t he AV por t. Press and hold t his
butto n AND power up IQ Box™ a t the same time. Re lease this b utt on
and the d evice will powe r up in RECOVE RY mode.

Conne ct IQ Box™ to the HDM I port of a high-de finition TV or PC
monit or using an HDMI ca ble.
Optic al audio port (S/ PDIF Out)
Conne ct to the optical a udio input o f an ex ternal amp lifi er that
suppo rts S/PDIF
USB 2.0 p orts
Conne ct any external U SB device to IQ Box ™ to access it s con tents
e.g. a fla sh drive. The USB can co nnect with addi tional periph erals
such as a w ireless keybo ard or wirel ess m ouse.
Ether net jack
The por t requires an eth ernet cable con nected fro m the I Q Box™ to
a route r or a configured da ta port. The IQ Box™ can o perate as a
route r to support Wi-F i hotspot servi ces. Config ura tion of the
featu re is accessibl e in the settings m enu. Pleas e vis it:

CVBS Po rt
If the TV or mon ito r to be used doe s not have an HDMI po rt then it is
possi ble to connect th e device to the cor rectly col our c oded
compo site ports. These ar e typically col our coded red, wh ite and
yello w and are usually l ocated on th e rea r side of the TV unit.On
some mo dels they can be si tuated on the fro nt of the TV.

What do I need?
To start us ing the IQ Box™, yo u need the follow ing:
High- definition TV or M onitor
A high-d efinition TV or PC moni tor that can disp lay 720p or 10 80p
video w ith at least one HD MI input.
HDMI Ca ble or AV Cable
An HDMI c able to connect t he IQ Box™ to your TV from t he HDMI
port OR a n AV ca ble with red , whi te and yello w con nections t o
conne ct the IQ Box™ to you r TV fr om th e CVBS port.
Inter net Connectio n
The IQ Bo x™ can connect to t he internet via a w ireless 80 2.11 b/g/ n
netwo rk. Make sure you k now you wireles s network na me an d
passw ord. The I Q Box™ can con nect to the inter net via an Ethern et
netwo rk cable. The cable sh ould be connect ed directl y to a ro uter
or data a ccess point.

Setting up the IQ Box™
The IQ Bo x™ connects to yo ur TV o r mon itor via an HD MI port to
deliv er high quality a udio and vid eo. The IQ B ox™ can also be
conne cted via the CVBS p ort if HDMI is not su pported. I t is
impor tant to check the a vailable p ort s on the front , sid e and rear of
your ch ose TV or monit or to i dentify wh at po rts are supp orted:
Step 1: C onnecting the c able
·HDMI: C onnect IQ Box™ fr om the HDMI port to a n HD TV o r home
theat er receiver tha t supports HDMI
OR
·CVBS: C onnect IQ Box™ fr om the CVBS port to a ny TV t hat
suppo rts composite p orts. Video is trans mitted via the Yell ow port
and Au dio is trans mit ted via the Re d and White ports .
Step 2: C onnecting the p ower
Conne ct the power adap ter suppli ed in t he package t o thi s port. As
soon as t he power is conne cted the pow er bu tton will gl ow re d.
Power o n the IQ Box™ by pres sing the power bu tton on the to p sid e
of the de vice once.

Step 3: S elect the input
Tur n on your TV or Monitor an d either select t he correct H DMI p ort
if HDMI i s in use, or cycle th rough AV settings to loc ate the correct
compo site channel.
Step 4: C onnecting to th e internet
If the de vice is connect ed to the interne t via an Ether net c able, then
no confi guration is req uired. To conne ct th e device to a wi reless
conne ction please vi sit WIFI settin gs in the sett ing s menu. Furt her

Launc her setup
After p owering on the IQ B ox™ for the first ti me, and once t he de vice
has com pleted the star tup sequence, t he user will b e giv en the
optio n to select their L auncher prefe rence. The launche r is the user
inter face used for acc essing instal led applic ati ons (inclu din g
setti ngs), and opera ting system fea tures. The device is e quipped
with tw o launchers, La uncher3 an d IQL auncher.

Launc her3 is the class ic Android op era ting syste m. The dir ectional
pad is us ed for navigati ng applica tio ns in the inte rfa ce and the
colou r buttons are lin ked with ope rat ing system s hor tcuts. The blue
orang e and pink button s are direct ly li nked to fami lia r operatin g
syste m shortcuts. Pl ease consult th e Tak e Control se cti on of the
user ma nual for descri ptions of the imp lemented s hor tcuts.

IQ Laun cher
IQLau ncher is an optim ised launc her. The di rectiona l pad i s used
for nav igating the ico ns on the desktop a nd the colou r but tons are
linke d with operatin g system shortc uts. Pleas e con sult the Take
Contr ol section of the u ser manual for de scriptio ns of t he
imple mented shortc uts. The launcher se ttings panel ca n be
acces sed by first press ing the home butt on and visit ing :

Langu age setup
You ma y choose the d esi red system l ang uage by first p ressing the
home bu tton and visiti ng:

Note: The HD MI CE C function c an alter the defa ult language if

the fol lowing steps:

Wi-Fi setu p
Conne ct to your wirele ss network by the f ollowing s tep s:
Apps> S ettings > Netwo rk > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi de vice > On
Wi-Fi w ill turn on and aut omatically sc an the wirel ess n etworks
avail able. Select th e wireless n etw ork that you w ant t o connect to
and con firm.Enter the p assword of the Wi -Fi networ k by us ing the
virtu al keyboard wit h the standard re mote and sel ect “ Connect” .

Googl e Play setup
Launc h the Google Play S tore by the follo wing steps :
Apps -> G oogle Play Stor e > highligh t and c onfirm
To use Goog le Play Store you n eed a Google Ac cou nt. If you hav e a
Googl e Account, selec t “Sign in” an d log in with your G oog le
Accou nt details. If yo u don't have a Goog le Account or w ish t o
config ure an account sp ecificall y for t he IQ Box™ sel ect “ Get a
Googl e Account” and com plete the re gis tration pr oce ss.
Upon su ccessful comp letion of the sig n-in proce ss th e Google Pla y
Store w ill launch. The appl ication provi ded by Googl e all ows
Andro id users to downl oad and inst all t he applica tio ns compati ble
with th e device.
Not all a pplications a re availab le vi a the Google P lay S tore due to
geo res triction, lan guage cons tra ints and oth er re asons. Som e
