DSL-105 Proximity Head Control
End User Instructions
To keep yourself and others safe while using your DSL-105 Proximity Head Control,
please observe the following cautions:
The Proximity Head Control cannot be used as a headrest or head
support while the control is selected to drive the chair, because the chair
OFF
will start to drive if the head comes close to the pads.
• To use the head control as a headrest, turn off the chair first.
The sensors of the head control are sensitive to water. This means that if
enough water is present close to the sensors, they may activate and the
chair may start to drive.
• Do not operate the head control with wet hair, with wet headwear or
neckwear, in wet weather, or in any circumstance where water may
come close to the sensors.
The sensor pads are made of water resistant vinyl. This material helps any
water or sweat to run quickly off the pads before the sensors can activate.
• Do not cover the sensor pads with any material (for example, cloth for
increased comfort). If the pads are covered with material that can
absorb water, the water will stay on the pads, the chair will start to
drive and it will not stop driving until the water has dried out.
• Regularly check the vinyl pad covering of the head control for cracks,
damage or any form of wear and tear. If the vinyl covering is
damaged, do not use the head control and have the coverings
replaced immediately. Holes in the vinyl may allow water entry into
the pads, which may activate the sensors and cause the chair to start
driving.
The distance sensors are sensitive to electric waves, such as those that are
transmitted by portable communication devices and electronic security
gates.
• Do not use the DSL-105 near any device that transmits strong electric
waves, otherwise the chair may start to drive unexpectedly.
If the chair drives unexpectedly, stop the chair by pressing
• The on/off button, or
• The 'Mode' button (only in 3Q mode).
