he Invacare®CareGuard™8000 is a full-depth (8") powered alternating pressure air mattress replacement system which reduces interface pressure for the treatment of Stage I to Stage
IV pressure ulcers. The CareGuard 8000 reduces interface pressures below capillary closure through the design of 20 individual 8-inch air cell bladders that alternate every four minutes. The power unit control combines simplified operations with effective results.

Alternating Mode
In alternating mode, the Invacare APM’s 20 adjacent air cells alternately inflate and deflate at 8-minutes interval, which redistributes the pressure against the skin to promote capillary circulation.
