iFIX Product Line Instructions for Use
Intended Use
The iFIX Product Line is a non-sterile product,
intended for patient stabilization over a short
period of time, during invasive and noninvasive procedures, by securing the position
of the patient’s anatomy with intact skin outside
the sterile field.
Description
iFIX is a patient stabilization system, indicated
for medical procedures during which the
patient is required to maintain a specific
position over a short period of time. The
stretchy fleece is intended for single patient
use and, as a single use component, lowers
the risk of cross-contamination. It contours to
the patient’s anatomy and secures them in the
desired position through its connection to the
reusable iFIX anchor products. Depending on
the table design, an iFIX Patch that adheres to
the table surface, an iFIX Slot Adapter that
slides into the channels, or an iFIX Patch
Adapter which connects to standard hook
fasteners can be chosen. The micro anchors of
the iFIX Patches and Adapters strongly secure
the iFIX Fleece to ensure optimal patient
stabilization and minimizing motion artifacts.
Warnings and Precautions
Warning: The system may only be used by
medical professionals.
Warning: iFIX Fleece and iFIX Head Mask
are products for single patient use only. Do
not reuse iFIX Fleece and iFIX Head Masks.
Selection of the anchor product
iFIX Slot Adapter
In case the table contains channels:
1. Select an appropriate iFIX Slot Adapter
size and shape.
2. Slide the iFIX Slot Adapters to the area of
the patient’s anatomy to be stabilized (See
A1, p. 4). While positioning, make sure
that no collisions with the existing
equipment take place during use.
3. Use additional iFIX Slot Adapters if
required.
iFIX Patch
In case there is a flat surface available
1. Remove the liner from the iFIX Patch.
2. Adhere the iFIX Patches to the lateral
sides of the patient support device, table
or another desired surface (See B1, p. 4).
3. Adhere additional iFIX Patches if required.
iFIX Patch Adapter
In case the table contains a standard hook
fastener:
1. Attach the loop side of the iFIX patch
adapter to the existing hook fastener on
both sides of the patient table.
2. Expose the anchor side of the iFIX Patch
Adapter by removing the white cover (See
C1, p. 4).
3. Add additional iFIX Patch Adapters and/or
cut iFIX Patch Adapters if required.

Patient stabilization
iFIX Fleece
1. Estimate the required length of iFIX
Fleece and cut.
2. Attach the iFIX Fleece using its textured
side to an anchor product on the opposite
side of the table (See D1, p. 4).
Warning: iFIX Fleece has a plain side
facing upwards when pulled out of the
fleece dispenser, and a textured one on
the opposite side. Only the latter can be
used for the connection to the anchor
products. Using the wrong surface of the
fleece may lead to patient injury.
3. Pull the iFIX Fleece tightly, up and over
the patient (See D2, p. 4).
Warning: Do not apply the iFIX Fleece
too tight, or it can restrict the blood
circulation and the patient’s breathing.
4. Adhere the iFIX Fleece to the anchor
product on the other side of the table. If
necessary, adjust the iFIX Fleece to
increase or decrease stabilization level.
(See D3, p. 4).
Warning: Confirm the stability of the
setup before conducting the procedure
and readjust if necessary. Forgetting it
may lead to patient injury.
5. If necessary, repeat this procedure with
additional iFIX Fleece layers to increase
stabilization.
iFIX Head Mask
1. Select an appropriate iFIX Head Mask
size for the patient.
Warning: Using the wrong Head Mask
size may lead to patient injury.
2. Place the mask over the patient’s face
ensuring eyes, nose, and mouth are
exposed (See E1, p. 4).
Warning: Do not apply the iFIX Head
Mask too tight, or it can restrict the blood
circulation and the patient’s breathing.
3. Attach the iFIX Head Mask flaps to an
anchor product.
Warning: Confirm the stability of the
setup before conducting the procedure
and readjust if necessary. Forgetting it
may lead to patient injury.
4. If necessary, adjust iFIX Head Mask to
increase or decrease stabilization (See
E2, p. 4).
Cleaning and disposal
1. After use, dispose of the iFIX Fleece or the
iFIX Head Mask.
Warning: Reusing an iFIX Fleece or an
iFIX Head Mask may lead to crossinfection.
2. Clean all reusable anchor products after
use. Residues of iFIX Fleece can be
removed using commercially available lint
roller.
3. Apply a disinfection agent to the reusable
products. Make sure there is complete
wetting of the anchor surfaces with
disinfection agent. Recommended
agents: alcoholic (e. g. Incidin Liquid or
Mikrozid AF Liquid) or quaternary
ammonium (e.g. Meliseptol) surface
disinfectants.

iFIX Product Line Gebrauchsanweisung
Verwendungszweck
iFIX ist eine Linie aus nicht sterilen Produkten
für die kurzfristige Patientenstabilisierung
während invasiver und nicht invasiver
Verfahren. Die Stabilisierung erfolgt durch die
Anwendung auf der intakten Haut des
Patienten außerhalb des sterilen Bereichs.
Beschreibung
iFIX ist ein System für die Patientenstabilisierung während medizinischer Eingriffe,
bei welchen die Patienten über kurze Zeit eine
bestimmte Position einnehmen müssen. Das
dehnbare Fleece ist ein Einwegartikel und
reduziert somit das Risiko für nosokomiale
Kontamination. Es passt sich der Patientenanatomie an und unterstützt die Einhaltung der
gewünschten Position dank der sicheren
Verbindung zu den wiederverwendbaren iFIX
Klettprodukten. Je nach Design der
verfügbaren Patientenunterlage, kann ein
geeignetes iFIX Klettprodukt gewählt werden:
das iFIX Patch, welches am Patiententisch
angebracht wird, der iFIX Slot Adapter,
welcher in den dafür vorgesehenen
Tischkanälen eingeführt werden kann, oder
der Patch Adapter, welcher an herkömmlichen
Klettoberflächen haftet. Die Mikroanker auf der
Oberfläche der iFIX Patches und Adapter
verbinden sicher die Fleecefaser, um eine
optimale Patientenstabilisation gewährzuleisten und Bewegungsartefakte zu
minimieren.

Masks sind Einwegartikel; nicht wiederverwenden.
Auswahl eines Klettproduktes
iFIX Slot Adapter
Falls die Patientenunterlage über geeigneten
Führungskanäle verfügt:
1. Wählen Sie iFIX Slot Adapter mit
passender Größe und Geometrie.
2. Führen Sie die iFIX Slot Adapter in die
Kanäle ein und schieben Sie diese in die
Höhe der Körperregion, welche eine
Stabilisierung benötigt (A1, p. 4). Achten
Sie dabei, dass keine Kollision mit dem
bestehenden Equipment während der
Nutzung eintritt.
3. Falls erforderlich, verwenden Sie
zusätzliche iFIX Slot Adapter.
iFIX Patch
Falls freie flache Oberfläche auf der
Patientenunterlage vorhanden ist:
1. Entfernen Sie die Abdeckfolie vom iFIX
Patch.
2. Befestigen Sie die iFIX Patches auf den
Seiten der Patientenunterlage in der
gewünschten Höhe (B1, p. 4).
3. Falls erforderlich, befestigen Sie weitere
iFIX Patches.
iFIX Patch Adapter
Falls die Patientenunterlage über eine
herkömmlichen Klettoberfläche verfügt:
1. Befestigen Sie die Flauschseite des iFIX
Patch Adapters zur vorhandenen
Klettoberfläche auf beiden Seiten der
Patientenunterlage.
2. Legen Sie die iFIX Patch Adapter
Oberfläche mit den Mikroankern frei, in
dem Sie die weiße Abdeckung entfernen
(C1, p. 4).
3. Falls erforderlich, bringen Sie weitere iFIX
Patch Adapter an und/oder kürzen Sie
diese.

Patientenstabilisierung
iFIX Fleece
1. Schätzen Sie die benötigte iFIX Fleece-
länge ein und schneiden Sie diese ab.
2. Befestigen Sie das iFIX Fleece auf dem
Klettprodukt der gegenüberliegenden Seite
der Patientenunterlage. Achten Sie darauf
die flauschige Fleeceseite für die
Befestigung zu nutzen (D1, p. 4).
Warnung: Das Fleece hat eine glatte
Oberfläche, welche beim Rausziehen
aus der Verpackung nach oben schaut,
und eine flauschigere auf der anderen
Seite. Nur die flauschige Seite kann für
die Verbindung zu den Klettprodukten
verwendet werden. Benutzung der
falschen Seite kann zu einer
Patientenverletzung führen.
3. Spannen Sie das iFIX Fleece mit leichtem
Zug über den Patienten (D2, p. 4).
Warnung: Achten Sie darauf, dass eine
zu feste Patientenstabilisierung die
Atmung sowie die Blutzirkulation des
Patienten beeinträchtigen kann.
4. Befestigen Sie das iFIX Fleece auf dem
Klettprodukt auf der anderen Seite des
Patienten. Falls notwendig, passen Sie die
Stabilisierung an und erhöhen oder
verringern Sie die Kraft auf den Patienten.
(D3, p. 4).
Warnung: Überprüfen Sie die Stabilität
der Patientenpositionierung bevor Sie
mit dem Eingriff fortfahren und passen
Sie diese ggf. an. Überspringen dieses
Schrittes kann zu einer Patientenverletzung führen.
5. Falls erforderlich, wiederholen Sie den
Vorgang mit einem weiteren iFIX Fleece
um die Stabilisation zu erhöhen.
iFIX Head Mask
1. Wählen Sie eine passende iFIX Head Mask
aus.
Warnung: Die Benutzung einer nicht
passenden Head Mask Größe kann zu
einer Patientenverletzung führen.
2. Ziehen Sie die iFIX Head Mask über das
Gesicht des Patienten. Stellen Sie sicher,
dass Augen, Nase und Mund des Patienten
freiliegen (E1, p. 4).
Warnung: Achten Sie darauf, dass eine
zu feste Stabilisierung die Atmung sowie
die Blutzirkulation des Patienten
beeinträchtigen kann.
3. Befestigen Sie die iFIX Head Mask-
Laschen an den Klettprodukten.
Warning: Überprüfen Sie die Stabilität
der Patientenpositionierung bevor Sie
mit der Anwendung fortfahren.
Überspringen dieses Schrittes kann zu
einer Patientenverletzung führen.
4. Falls notwendig, justieren Sie die iFIX Head
Mask nach, um die Stabilisierung zu
erhöhen oder zu verringern (E2, p. 4).
Reinigung und Entsorgung
1. Entsorgen Sie das iFIX Fleece oder die iFIX
Head Mask nach dem Gebrauch.
Warnung: Die Wiederverwendung von
dem iFIX Fleece oder der iFIX Head
Mask kann zu einer Krossinfektion
führen.
2. Reinigen Sie alle wiederverwendbaren
Klettprodukte nach dem Gebrauch.
Fleecerückständen können mit einem
herkömmlichen Fusselroller entfernt
werden.
3. Benetzen Sie die wiederverwendbaren
Produkte vollständig mit einem
Desinfektionsmittel. Empfohlen sind
Desinfektionsmittel auf der Basis von
Alkohol (z.B. Incidin Liquid oder Mikrozid
AF Liquid) oder von quaternären
Ammonium-Verbindungen (Meliseptol).
