700 Color Non-Incendive (NI) Mobile Computer
Important Operating Instructions
The Model 700CNI mobile computer has been quali­fied by Underwriters Laboratories Inc., to the require­ments of the USA and Canada for use in Class I, Division 2-Groups A, B, C, D, and Non-Hazardous locations only. The 700CNI has a T6 temperature code.
Warnings and Cautions
Explosion Hazard-Substitution of compo­nents may impair suitability for Class I, Division 2.
Note: This unit has no operator replaceable
parts other than the battery pack. Repair of the 700CNI unit must be performed by trained Intermec service personnel.
Explosion Hazard-Batteries msut only be changed or charged in an area known to be non-hazardous. Use ONLY Intermec bat­tery pack P/N: 318-013-003 or 318-013-
004.
Note: From time to time additional battery packs may be added to the qualifications of the 700CNI. Contact your local Intermec representative if 318-013-003 or 318-013­004 is no longer available as a replacement battery pack.
The battery pack used in this device may present a fire or chemical burn hazard if mistreated. Do not disassemble, heat above 100°C (+212°F) or incinerate. Dispose of used battery packs promptly. Keep away from children.

be observed for the safety of the operator and others in potentially hazardous locations:
• The 700CNI must only be used when the ambient temperature is between -20°C and +60°C (-4°F and +140°F).
• The 700CNI may be used alone or it may be used with Intermec Model 1553NI XLR Scanner. When the 1553NI XLR Scanner is used it is connected to the 700CNI throught the tethered scanner adapter (TSA), Intermec Model 700CNI-TSA p/n: 225­686-007 which in turn is used with Intermec cable 3-604032-06.
• The 700CNI may NOT be connected to any of its available accessories while in potentially hazardous locations. This includes anything that uses the com­munications docking connector, headset, or micro­phone jacks. All allowed connections must be made while outside of the potentially hazardous location.
• The use of CompactFlash, Secure Digital, and SIM Cards in the 700CNI while in potentially hazardous locations is permitted as long as these cards are not removed or changed while in the hazardous location.
