Transition Series Multi-technology Card Readers

Overview

GE Transition™ Series multi-technology card readers feature a
revolutionary compatibility with multi-vendor 125kHz Proximity, Mifare
(ISO 14443A), and Vicinity (ISO 15693) credential technologies—all in
one reader. With this remarkable combination of technology, security
administrators can now deploy the Transition readers into existing or
new facilities—continue to serve existing card-carrying
communities—while implementing a strategy that leverages the
latest in security and smart card technology advancements.

No matter what credential technology you currently employ, Transition
readers allow continual use and features, but more importantly the
ability to transition to new and more secure smart card technology.
These readers offer security system administrators an economical
solution to migrate to new smart card technologies on their own
timelines and budgets to better secure their business.

Intelligent Supervision

GE Transition Series readers provide superior value when performance
matched with select GE access control platforms. Only GE offers
intelligent supervision that continuously monitors communication
between the access control panel and reader at the door. Door contact
and request-to-exit device connections are four-state supervised for
cut line, short-circuit, closed circuit and open-circuit conditions.
There's also an internal tamper-alarm mechanism. That means your
security staff is immediately notified if a reader is tampered with, a
door is breeched or circuit is cut or shorted. Tri-state LEDs and audible
alerts indicate status, alarm and perimeter-tampering conditions.

Versatile Security System Compatibility

GE multi-technology Wiegand-output models
(T-500W/T-520W/T-525W) work with most types of access control
systems that use Wiegand-based data communications up to 64-bits.
They are also compatible with access cards using multi-vendor
Proximity, Mifare (ISO 14443A) and Vicinity (ISO 15693) technologies.

Transition readers are made of durable UV-resistant material that
inhibits discoloration in all types of indoor and outdoor conditions
