Intergraph DigiDesktop User Manual

Customer Information Letter
Date: October 2, 1998 To: Matrox DigiDesktop customers From: Intergraph Computer Systems Subject: Using the DigiDesktop video/graphics card and Digi/Utils software
Thank you for purchasing an Intergraph Computer Systems workstation equipped with a Matrox DigiDesktop video/graphics card. The DigiDesktop card and its associated driver software are already installed on your workstation.
Note the following before using the DigiDesktop card:
u
The DigiDesktop card is capable of driving two computer monitors and four windows displaying video signals.
u
For more information on the video or monitor settings to use with the DigiDesktop card, see the Matrox Digisuite Installation Manual.
u
If the DigiDesktop card is installed in an Intergraph TDZ 2000 GT1 system, the card must be installed and remain in PCI slot 1. Since the DigiDesktop card contains a PCI to PCI bridge, moving the card from slot 1 changes the bus number for the Low Voltage Differential SCSI (LVDS) controller and the BIOS configuration data does not match the bus number. If you must remove or move the DigiDesktop card from PCI slot 1, you must change the SYMBIOS adapter boot order to avoid this problem. See the Intergraph Computer Systems documentation delivered with the TDZ 2000 GT1 system for more information.
u
In an Intergraph TDZ 2000 GL2 system, Intergraph Computer Systems installs the DigiDesktop card and the fans required for proper cooling of the card. If you purchase a DigiDesktop directly from Matrox and install the card into a TDZ 2000 GL2 system, the card will not have adequate cooling.
u
To use the DigiDesktop card’s video-in-a-window features, you must first install the Digi/Utils software from the Matrox CD-ROM delivered with your system.
u
Because of the design of the DigiDesktop card and driver software, you must reinstall the Digi/Utils software from the Matrox CD-ROM if you do the following:
Move any installed PCI expansion cards to different expansion slots.
Add any new PCI expansion cards to the workstation.
