BCLO:
This is “Busy Channel Lock Out” It prevents the radio from transmitting if there is another trans­mission taking place. Useful when there are a number of users all on the same channel to prevent “Cross-talk” from obliterating communications. Options are “ON” and “OFF” Off is default. As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.

MENU ITEMS
The Menu is accessed by pressing the “Menu” button Use the knob to scroll through the Menu items which are shown on the top half of the screen. Use the U/V button to toggle the curser on the left, so that it is in the lower half of the screen. Use the Knob to adjust the menu item.
RX Code:
This is also known as the CTCSS code. To adjust this item, Use the U/V button to toggle the curser on the Left of the screen down to the lower half of the screen and turn the knob to change the code number. Set the number 1 below the number you want to set, when you exit, the Rx code will jump forward 1 digit. Use the U/V button again to place the curser at the top half of the screen Press the “Vol” button to SET your selected setting.
SQL:
This is the squelch level adjustment. Squelch cuts out the background “static” noise, opening the radio channel when a strong signal is being received. Lower squelch levels will pick up faint signals, high levels will cut out all but the strongest of signals. As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.
LIGHT:
This is the screen back-light adjustment. The options are ON / OFF / KEY ON is permanently On. OFF is permanently Off. Key means the back-light will only come on when you have pressed a key. As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.
BEEP:
This selects an audible “Beep” when you press a button. As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.
VOX:
This is for Voice Activated Transmission (Transmit by just talking without pressing the PTT button) “0” is Off. “1” is low sensitivity (Hard to activate). “9” is high sensitivity (Easy to activate) As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.
SAVE:
This is a battery save mode. Options are “ON” and “OFF” As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.
TOT:
This is “Time-Out-Timer” and it is used to prevent accidental permanent transmission. It stops the radio transmitting until the PTT (or VOX) is re-activated. Especially useful when using VOX. “0” is OFF. You can select from 30 seconds to 180 seconds. As above, use the U/V button to select, then adjust with the knob. Toggle UP again with the U/V button and SET with the “Vol” button.
SCANM:
This is Scan Mode. It allows you to scan for signals. To activate, momentary press the “F/A” button followed by the “Menu” button, the radio will scan the channels and stop when it picks up a signal. Press the PTT button to exit this mode.
Battery Installation:
Slide the retaining clip on the bottom of the radio, release the cover and insert the battery pack with the writing and serial number uppermost. Re-fit the battery cover and slide the retaining clip back into position.
Charging:
The battery pack comes partially charged. For best performance and long life, fully charge the battery for at least 6 hours for it’s first charge. Subsequent charges take approximately 2 hours for a full charge from flat. To charge the battery inside the radio, just plug in the supplied USB lead to the lower charging socket on the side of the radio and the supplied Mains / USB adapter. When turned OFF, there is no charging indicated on the screen. When turned ON, there is a small battery icon on the top Right side of the display that indicated the battery charge level and charging status. The supplied charging base can charge a single battery. There is a socket to connect the USB lead in the bottom.
KNOBS & BUTTONS:
The top R/H knob unlocks by pulling it UP, to lock - press it DOWN. It is used to change menu settings.
On the side of the Radio:
Transmit:
The PTT (Press To Transmit) button is the top button, on the L/H side of the radio. Press and hold whilst transmitting, release to receive.
F/A:
The middle button on the L/H side of the radio is an emergency alarm button. Press and hold for 1 second will activate an audible alarm siren which will also be transmitted in the channel you are using. To stop the alarm, press the PTT button momentarily, then press the “VOL/MON” button on the front of the radio.
L/R:
The RED “L/R” button has two functions:
LED TORCH LIGHT = Press the button momentarily for ON/ OFF
FM RADIO = Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to activate the radio receiver. Turn the Knob to search for a station. Press and hold the button to turn it off again. The Transceiver (2-way radio) has priority over FM radio.
On the front of the Radio:

Press and hold the Red “On/Off” button to power the radio On & Off
U/V - Mode:
The U/V button is used to toggle between the upper and lower menu items on the display screen.
Menu - Lock:
The Menu button is used to start and finish Menu options and is used in conjunction with the Knob to select different menu items. (See “Menu” section) Press and hold to Lock & unlock the radio keys.
Vol - Mon:
For Volume adjustment, momentary press the “Vol” button and adjust the level using the Knob. Press and hold the button to monitor weak transmissions.
