The electronic lock, together with its keypad, is to be installed in accordance with the following instructions. It should be noted that these installation instructions are a part of the VdS security certification; failure to follow these instructions will invalidate that certification. The electronic lock is in all cases to be protected from tampering from the outside.

Assembly sequence
Mount the attachment ring for the CombiControl 7238 keypad as shown in the sketch. Four M4 threaded holes and one hole, max. 11.4, min. 10.5 mm in diameter, will have to be tapped in the door of the safe. Then use four M4 x 10 machine screws to mount the attachment ring, ensuring that there is no damage in the area where the ring is secured.

1. Thread the keypad connector cable with its plug through the connector shaft and the
electronic lock’s center shaft.
2. Insert connector shaft to keypad and adjust it to electronic lock.
3. Slip-on locked electronic lock on connector shaft.
4. Use three steel machine screws (M6 x 35 or the corresponding inch threads) to affix the
electronic lock so that it is permanently and securely attached. Prevent spontaneous loosening of these screws. It is advisable to place lock washers under the screw heads. In order to avoid malfunctions, the mounting screws may be tightened down only to a maximum torque of 10 Nm.

Installation options: The electronic lock must always be located at right angles to the keypad
(four installation positions, each offset 90° from the other).

Sample installation
The bolt may not be subjected to tension or pressure after installation. Do not use lubricants
or any other substances on or in the electronic lock. It is recommended that a security and functional test be made by personnel trained by cawi after about 10,000 closing cycles.
