Installation

Note: Installation should be performed only by a qualified electrician or a
homeowner who is familiar and comfortable with electrical circuitry. If you
have any questions regarding installation, consult an electrician or call the
INSTEON Support Line at 800-762-7845.

1) Be sure to write down the INSTEON I.D. and location of the fixture
you'll be controlling (e.g., 01.F7.G5, Upstairs Bathroom Fan)

2) Turn off circuit breaker supplying power to the fixture

3) Disconnect the wires from the fixture you will be controlling and
ensure that you have ½” of bare wire on the ends

4) See Figure 1 to identify and connect the line, load, neutral and ground
wires on In-LineLinc. Be sure you have correctly identified the wires in
the junction box before connecting them.

5) After you have connected all the wires, ensure that the wire
connectors are firmly attached and that there is no exposed copper
except for the ground wire

6) Prior to reinstalling the fixture, turn on circuit breaker supplying power
to the fixture

7) Use the on/off buttons to test that the module is working and
controlling the load

8) Add In-LineLinc to a scene as a responder:

9) Gently place In-LineLinc into the junction box, making sure that

10) Reinstall the fixture

Use the On and Off button on In-LineLinc to set the load to the
state you wish to activate from the controller (turn it on if you wish
it to be on when the controller activates the scene, etc.). Press
and hold the scene controller button until it beeps.

Controller LED will blink

Press and hold In-LineLinc's Set button until it double-beeps

In-LineLinc status LED will flash once and then turn on
steady. Controller will double-beep** and its LED will stop
blinking

Confirm that scene addition was successful by tapping On then
Off on the controller's scene button

The load connected to the In-LineLinc will respond
appropriately
