Adding a FA5230–Meter Pair to the System
Making the Hardware Connection
Each water meter in the TapWatch syst em is paired with an
FA5230 Pulse Meter Transmitter.

Programming the FA5230—M eter Pair
1. Confirm t hat th e bat tery is installed in th e FA5230.
2. Go to the ‘Registered Meters’ tab of the Site Information editor.
3. Click ‘Add’ on the ‘Registered Meters’ page making sure that the desired building is selected
in the drop-down box.
4. Complete the ‘Add New Meter To...’ form when it appears.
5. Clic k the ‘Register’ bu tton.
6. When prom pt ed, pres s th e r es et b utton on t he F A5230 b eing registered and wait for
con firmation th at the F A5230–Meter pair has been logg ed t o th e system.
7. Repeat steps 1- 6 to ad d add ition al FA5230–Meter pairs to the system.
Clicking the ‘Add’ button on the Registered Meters page initiates the software for adding a
FA5230–Meter p air to the b uild ing that is s elected in t he drop-d own box.

When all text boxes are filled properly, click ‘Register’ to enter the registration mode. A registration
box then appears, prompting you to press the reset button on the transmitter.
Once the t r ansm itter ’s r es et mess age is r ec eived by t he F A403 receiver, it is passed t o th e P C. The
FA5230–Meter p air is logged into th e syst em and reg istration is complete.
