Einführung
Die PCI-Express SATA Host-Controllerkarte erweitert Ihren PC um acht SATA-Schnittstellen. Sie
können an der Karte Geräte wie Festplattenlaufwerke, DVD-Laufwerke etc. anschließen.
Ausrichtung und Position der SATA-Schnittstellen sind derart, dass die Verkabelung gut in das PCGehäuse passt und zwei der Schnittstellen sich manuell für externen bzw. internen Gebrauch
konfigurieren lassen.

Vor der Installation
• Der Anwender muss Grundkenntnisse zur Installation einer Erweiterungskarte und ihrer Treiber in
einen Desktop-PC besitzen. Bei Fragen wenden Sie sich bitte umgehend an Ihren lokalen Händler
oder bitten eine Person mit Erfahrung in der PC-Hardwareinstallation um Unterstützung.
• Mainboard mit freiem PCI-Express 2.0-Steckplatz (x1/ x4/ x8/ x16) und installiertem
Betriebssystem, das dies unterstützt.
• Für den Betrieb aller 8 SATA Ports müssen die Marvell 88SE9215 Treiber bei Linux implementiert /
bei Windows installiert werden. Mit Standard AHCI Controller Treiber von Microsoft / Linux werden
nur 4 Sata Ports erkannt.
WARNUNG
Vor Einbau und Aktivierung der Controllerkarte vergewissern Sie sich bitte, dass Sie eine vollständige
Sicherungskopie aller Daten der Festplatten haben. Der Hersteller haftet nicht für Datenverlust
aufgrund von Missbrauch, Fehlnutzung oder Nachlässigkeit. Falls ein Installations-problem auftritt,
wenden Sie sich zur Unterstützung bitte an Ihren Händler.
Serielle-ATA (SATA)-
Hardwareinstallation
1. Schalten Sie Ihren Computer und alle daran angeschlossenen externen Geräte ab.
2. Trennen Sie den Computer von der Stromquelle.
3. Öffnen Sie das Computergehäuse. Einzelheiten finden Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung des
Computers.
4. Finden Sie einen freien PCI-Express 2.0-Steckplatz und entfernen Sie das Slotblech. Heben
Sie die Schraube für später auf.
5. Richten Sie die Karte horizontal am Steckplatz aus und setzen sie fest und gleichmäßig ein.
Achten Sie da-rauf, sie nicht mit Gewalt hineinzudrücken. Sobald der Controller korrekt im
Steckplatz sitzt, schrauben Sie ihn mit der Schraube am Gehäuse fest.
6. Bauen Sie die Festplatte (n) im Computergehäuse ein.
7. Schließen Sie das Stromkabel an die Festplatte (n) an.
8. Schließen Sie die SATA-Festplatte (n) über SATA-Kabel an die Controllerkarte an
9. Verbinden Sie das Festplatten-LED-Kabel an der Vorderblende des PC-Gehäuses mit Pin
JP19 (siehe Abbildung 1).

10. Schließen Sie ein Ende des LED-Kabels (optional) an Pin JP20 und das andere Ende am
HDD LED-An-schluss Ihres Mainboards an.
11. Schließen Sie das Computergehäuse und schalten den Computer an.
Schnittstellenkonfiguration (Optionale Funktionen)
Treiberinstallation
Installieren des Treibers für das unterstützte Betriebssystem:
Für Windows XP und Server 2003:
1. Starten Sie Windows und legen die Treiber-CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk ein; vorausgesetzt
wird Laufwerks-Buchstabe D.
2. Windows erkennt automatisch die SATA-Karte. Wählen Sie “Dieses Mal nicht” und klicken auf
Weiter.
3. Wählen Sie “Aus Liste oder bestimmten Pfad installieren (Erweitert)” und klicken auf
Weiter.
4. Gehen Sie auf das folgende Verzeichnis auf der Treiber-CD, je nach Ihrem Betriebssystem:
Windows XP 32-bit und Server 2003 32-bit:
DVD-Laufwerk:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\i386
Windows XP 64-bit und Server 2003 64-bit:
DVD-Laufwerk:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\amd64
5. Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um den Treiber zu installieren.
6. Nach erfolgreicher Installation wird der SATA-Controller im Gerätemanager als Marvell 92xx
SATA 6G Controller angezeigt (unter Speichercontroller).
Für die Betriebssysteme Windows Vista, Server 2008 und Windows 10/8.1/8/7:
1. Starten Sie Windows und legen die Treiber-CD in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk ein
2. Öffnen Sie das Fenster Gerätemanager, gehen in den Tab IDE ATA/ATAPI-Controller,
und klicken mit der rechten Maustaste auf Standard SATA AHCI-Controller
3. Wählen Sie Treibersoftware aktualisieren und klicken im neuen Fenster auf Mein
Computer nach Treibersoftware durchsuchen.
4. Klicken Sie auf Aus einer Liste von Gerätetreibern auf meinem Computer auswählen.
5. Klicken Sie auf Datenträger… und im Popupfenster auf Durchsuchen… . Suche Sie in
folgendem Verzeichnis auf der Treiber-CD, je nach Ihrem Betriebssystem:
Windows Vista, Server 2008 und Windows 10/8.1/8/7 32-bit:
DVD-Laufwerk:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\i386
Windows Vista, Server 2008 und Windows 10/8.1/8/7 64-bit:
DVD-Laufwerk:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\amd64
6. Wählen Sie das entsprechende Verzeichnis, kehren zum Fenster "von Datenträger
installieren” zurück und klicken auf „OK“.
7. Klicken Sie auf "Weiter", und das Installationsprogramm öffnet das Fenster "Windows
Sicherheitscenter". Klicken Sie ein Häkchen in "Immer Software von ‘Marvell
Semiconductor’ vertrauen" und dann auf "Installieren"
8. Zum Abschluss der Treiberinstallation klicken Sie auf "Schließen"
9. Nach erfolgreicher Installation wird der SATA-Controller im Gerätemanager (unter
Speichercontroller) als Marvell 92xx SATA 6G Controller angezeigt.

INTRODUCTION
The PCI-Express SATA host controller card expands your PC by eight SATA ports. You can connect
devices like e.g. hard drives, DVD-drives etc. to the card.
The orientation and position of SATA ports are well designed so that the cable wiring fits easily in
computer chassis and four of those ports can be configured manually for either external or internal
use.

BEFORE INSTALLATION
● The user must have basic knowledge of installing an add-on card and its driver to a desktop PC. If
you have any queries, please call your local dealer, or find somebody who is experienced in
computer hardware installation.
● Motherboard with a free PCI-Express 2.0 slot (x1/ x4/ x8/ x16) and a supported operating system
installed.
● For the operation of all 8 SATA ports, the Marvell 88SE9215 drivers must be implemented for Linux
/ installed for Windows. With standard AHCI controller drivers from Microsoft / Linux only 4 Sata
ports are recognized.
WARNING
Before installing and activating this controller card, please make sure you have a complete backup of
your existing data from your hard drives. Manufacturer is not responsible for data loss due to abuse,
misuse or neglect. Should you have any installation problem, please con-tact your dealer for
assistance.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
1. Turn off your computer and all external devices connected to it.
2. Disconnect your computer from the power sources.
3. Open the computer case. Refer to your computer user manual for more details.
4. Find an available PCI-Express 2.0 slot and remove the slot bracket. Save the bracket screw for
later use.
5. Align the controller card horizontally with respect to the slot and insert it into the slot firmly and
evenly. Take care not to force it into the slot. Once you have properly positioned the controller
card into the slot, fasten it to the computer case with the screw you have just saved.
6. Mount the hard disk(s) on the computer case.
7. Connect the power cable to the hard disk(s).
8. Connect the SATA hard disk(s) to the controller card with the SATA cable(s).
9. Connect the computer case’s front panel Hard Disk LED cable to pin header JP19 (see
Abbildung 1).
10. Connect the one end of the LED cable (optional) to pin header JP20, and the other end to your
motherboard’s HDD LED connector.
11. Secure the computer case and switch on your computer.

DRIVER INSTALLATION
Installing Driver for supported operating system:
Windows XP and Server 2003:
1. Start Windows and insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM drive, assume drive D.
2. Windows will automatically detect the SATA card. Select “No, not this time” and click the
Next button to continue.
3. Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” and click on the Next button.
4. Browse to the following folder on the driver CD according to your operating system:
Windows XP 32-bit and Server 2003 32-bit:
D:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\i386
Windows XP 64-bit and Server 2003 64-bit:
D:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\amd64
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver.
6. After successful installation, the SATA controller is listed in the Device Manager as Marvell
92xx SATA 6G Controller (under Storage controllers).
For Windows Vista, Server 2008, and Windows 10/8.1/8/7 operating system:
1. Start Windows and insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM drive, assume drive D
2. Open Device Manager window, inside IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers item, select and right
click mouse Standard SATA AHCI Controller
3. Select Update Driver Software, and click Browse my computer for driver software
inside the new window.
4. Click mouse let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
5. Click Have Disk…,and in the pop-up window click the Browse…(B), Browse to the
following folder on the driver CD according to your operating system:
Windows Vista, Server 2008, and Windows 10/8.1/8/7 32-bit:
D:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\i386
Windows Vista, Server 2008, and Windows 10/8.1/8/7 64-bit:
D:\Marvell\88SE9215\Windows\amd64
6. Choose the directory, returned to the "Install From Disk” window, click the OK button.
7. Click the "next" button and the installation process will pop up "Windows security"
window, check the "Always trust software from ‘Marvell Semiconductor’ ", then click
"Install"
8. Finally complete the driver installation, click the "close"
9. After successful installation, the SATA controller is listed in the Device Manager as Marvell
92xx SATA 6G Controller (under Storage controllers).
