This manual is specifically for Infrared Heating Panels developed to
target difficult to dry dense materials such as concrete flooring,
Gypcrete flooring, ceramic tile floors with mortar base, backerboards
and the like. When used for this purpose, they should be set up with
the hot black side of the panels facing down. Always use the accompanying legs for proper spacing. The panels can also be used to heat
and dry dense walls including plaster, multiple layers of drywall and
insulation board. When used in this fashion, the legs should be used
to space the panels vertically on their side.
SAFETY WARNINGS
Safety is always the number one concern when using electrical
equipment. All electrical equipment can be dangerous if misused,
abused or damaged. If the user fails to observe the warnings, injury
might result to person, or property. By following the warnings below,
the user can reduce the risk of shock, personal injury or fire.
DO NOT operate near combustible materials such
as paper, cardboard, furniture, drapes etc. Treat
with caution as you would any space or portable
heater.
DO NOT use unless you have read the operating
instructions.
DO NOT use outside, in water, in rain or standing
water.
DO NOT remove the cover/housing as serious
shock might occur.
DO NOT remove or alter grounding plug.
DO NOT connect to an ungrounded outlet.
DO NOT service the unit while connected to any
power source.
DO NOT alter or operate IRP with a damaged
cord or plug. Discard or return to an authorized
service facility for examination and/or repair.
DO NOT run cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.
DO NOT route cord under furniture.
DO NOT place on unstable or wet surface or in an enclosed space where there are no air exchanges.
DO NOT operate any device with a damaged cord or
plug.
Not intended for use on sensitive materials such as
hardwood flooring, wood trim or wood cabinetry as the
wood can dry too rapidly causing permanent damage.
DO NOT operate in areas where children or pets have
access.
DO NOT operate in environments where the ambient
temperature might be over 90 ֯F as the unit might
become too hot to touch.
To move IRP-400, unplug and let it cool down prior to
moving. Grasp each panel end frame where it will be
cooler to the touch.
TRAINING VIDEOS & WEBINAR TRAINING

watching all the videos you may schedule a training webinar (call for
information).
UNPACKING YOUR PRODUCT
Great care has gone into the protection of your unit. We recommend
keeping the packaging in case a return is required.
In the upper left corner of each box is a packaging label which specifies the model number for the kit designation and the contents and
qty for each.

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
Attach 4 feet to the metal frame to stabilize it. There is no on/off switch, place over or in front of the materials to be dried. Simply plug into any 120v
circuit and the panel will automatically heat up.
The feet will also act as spacers so that the panel is the appropriate distance from the material being dried (aprox 6”). If the panel is placed more than
aprox 6” from the material it may not reach the desired temperature. Never operate the panel without the feet.
The panel can be placed face down to direct heat toward a floor. It can also be erected to face a wall horizontally.
It is best to turn the panel off and let it cool for five minutes before handling as the panels will be warm.
Always monitor the temperature and moisture content of materials closely.
Not intended for use in an environment exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Please note that air movement will dissipate the heat produced by the Infrared panel.
If a material is hoer than the desired temperature, place an air mover in the room directed
away from the IR panel. The indirect air circulaon will reduce the temperature of the material
being dried.
Wrap materials you do not want directly heated in aluminum foil to deflect infrared heat. Materials will
sll get warm.

FAQ’s
What materials can be dried with the IR panels? Drywall (single or multi-layer), lathe and plaster, concrete floors and walls, Gypcrete®/
lightweight concrete, stone and masonry, ceramic/porcelain/natural stone tile, structural framing, wood su bflooring, exterior sheathing, soundboard. NOT RECOMMENDED for drying finished wood, carpet & pad, sheet vinyl, paper, cardboard or other combusble materials.
Should the IR panels be used to dry hardwood flooring? NO. The IR Panels are not intended for use with heat sensitive materials. Heat can
cause finished wood to dry too rapidly which may result in permanent damage to hardwood flooring and other heat sensitive materials such
as solid wood cabinets and wood trim.
How do you dry floors with the IR Panel? When used for this purpose, they should be set up with the hot black side of the panels facing down.
Always use the accompanying legs for proper spacing.
How do you dry walls with the IR Panel? When used for this purpose, they should be set up with the hot black side of the panel facing vertical to
the wall. Always use the accompanying legs for proper spacing.
Can the IR panels dry VCT (vinyl composite le) on plywood or concrete? YES. The direct heat will often be all that is needed to drive moisture out
of the substrate. There will be some cases where the mastic will have failed so keep that in mind when setting expectations with customers.
How long will it take for the IR panels to dry materials? The dry time will vary depending on the thickness of the materials, how many wet layers
of materials there are. To speed up drying push or pull air through cavities with Injectidry’s HP injection system, the Direct-It or Direct-It -In air
mover adapters or the Adaptidry vents on an AFD.
How hot will the IR panel make materials? The panels can raise the temperature of the materials they are directed at as high as 30-50 °F de-
pending on the ambient temperature in the room. The panels should be placed aprox 6 ” from the materials to be dried. If the panel is more
than aprox 6” away, the material may not reach the desired temperature. High air exchanges or air circula t ing in the room may prevent the
materials from reaching the desired temperature.
Can the IR panels be used to heat rooms such as bathrooms in a structure? YES. Three panels are the equivalent of most space heaters. One
advantage of using the IR panels as a space heater is the lack of moving air.
Can the IR panels be used in a crawlspace? Yes. Always use the feet/legs to keep the panel off of the ground and to keep it the proper distance
from the materials being dried. To protect plumbing/pipes or plastic parts wrap them with aluminum foil. The reflective aluminum foil will deflect infrared waves and keep the panel from directly heating materials. Materials will still get warm.
How large an area can each IR panel dry?
Drying will primarily happen where the panel is directed but the “angle of inc ide nce” occurs out at
least 8-10 inches, affecting the surrounding areas. Each panel is 16”x 46” which means the panels affect 32” x 62”.
How many amps does each IR panel draw? Aprox 3.5 amps. Everything in the design of the panel allows highest efficiency resulting in 95% radi-
ant output of the power consumed with all of the energy focused on the wet materials, not the air.
Should air movers be used to blow beneath the IR panels? NO. Moving air will dissipate the heat from the surface bei ng heated for dryng purposes. If the infrared panel is heating a material hotter than the desired temperature place an air mover in the room directed away from the IR
panel. The indirect air circulation will reduce the temperature of the material being dried.
What makes the IR panels Infrared? The wavelength related to the temperature. Infrared wavelengths that we use are 7-10 microns and in the
“medium wavelength” part of the spectrum. “Short wavelength” energy is much too hot to use.
What material is the IR panel? The frame, face and back are aluminum. The panel is rust free and 100% recyclable.
What material is the IR panel? The frame an d t he brus hed sil ver side are al um inum. The panel is rust free and 100% recyclable.
