FRONT AND REAR SONAR, WITHOUT
AROUND VIEW® MONITOR (parking
sensor) (rear center sonar if so
equipped)
The sonar (parking sensor) sounds a tone to inform the driver of obstacles near the bumper.
WARNING
● The sonar (parking sensor) is a convenience
feature. It is not a substitute for proper
parking.
● The driver is always responsible for safety
during parking and other maneuvers.
● Always look around and check that it is safe
to move before parking.
● Read and understand the limitations of the
sonar (parking sensor) as contained in this
section.
● The colors of the sonar indicators and the
distance guide lines in the front, front-wide,
rear and rear-wide views indicate different
distances to the object.
● Inclement weather or Ultrasonic sources
such as an automatic car wash, a truck’s
compressed-air brakes or a pneumatic drill
may affect the function of the system; this
may include reduced performance or a false
activation.
● This function is designed as an aid to the
driver indetecting largestationary objects to
help avoid damaging the vehicle.
● The system is not designed to prevent contact with small or moving objects.
● The system will not detect small objects below the bumper, and may not detect objects
close to the bumper or on the ground.
● The systemmaynotdetectthefollowing
objects:
– Fluffy objects such as snow, cloth, cotton,
glass or wool.
– Thin objects such as rope, wire or chain.
– Wedge-shaped objects.
● If your vehicle sustains damage to the bumper fascia, leaving it misaligned or bent, the
sensing zone may be altered causing inaccurate measurement of objects or false alarms.
CAUTION
● Excessive noise (such as audio system volume or an open vehicle window) willinterfere
with the tone and it may not be heard.
● Keep the surface of the sonar sensors (located on the front and rear bumper fascia)
free from accumulations of snow, ice and
dirt. Do not scratch the surface of the sonar
sensors when cleaning. If the sensors are
covered, the accuracy of the sonar function
will be diminished.
The system gives the tone for front objects when
the shift lever is in the D (Drive) position and both
front and rear objects when the shift lever is in the
R (Reverse) position.
The system is deactivated at speeds above 6 mph
(10 km/h). It is reactivated at lower speeds.
When the objects are detected, the tone sounds
InformationProvidedby:
intermittently. When the vehicle moves closer to
the object, the rate of the tone increases. When
the vehicle is very close to the object, the tone
sounds continuously.
The intermittent tone will stop after three seconds when an object is detected by only the corner sonar and the distance does not change.
The tone will stop when the object gets away from
the vehicle.
LHA3082
The rear sonar system can be disabled by pushing the OFF switch. When the system is disabled,
the indicator light on the switch will illuminate.
The system will automatically reset the next time
the ignition switch is placed in the ON position.

Your INFINITI represents a new way of thinking
about vehicle design. It integrates advanced engineering and superior craftsmanship with a
simple, refined aesthetic sensitivity associated
with traditional Japanese culture.
The result is a different notion of luxury and
beauty. The car itself is important, but so is the
sense of harmony that the vehicle evokes in its
driver, and the sense of satisfaction you feel with
the INFINITI — from the way it looks and drives to
the high level of retailer service.
To ensure that you enjoy your INFINITI to the
fullest, we encourage you to read this Owner’s
Manual immediately. It explains all of the features,

A separate Warranty Information Booklet
is included in your Owner’s literature portfolio. The INFINITI Service and Maintenance Guide explains details about maintaining and servicing your vehicle. Always
carry it with you when you take your vehicle
to an INFINITI retailer. The Warranty Information Booklet contents provide complete
information about all warranties covering
this vehicle, the requirements to keep the
warranties in effect as well as the INFINITI
Roadside Assistance program.
Additionally, a separate Customer Care
and Lemon Law Information Booklet will
explain how to resolve any concerns you
may have with your vehicle, as well as
clarify your rights under your state’s lemon
law.
In addition to factory installed options, your vehicle may also be equipped with additional accessories installed by INFINITI or by your INFINITI
retailer prior to delivery. It is important that you
familiarize yourself with all disclosures, warnings,
cautions and instructions concerning proper use
of such accessories prior to operating the vehicle
and/or accessory. See an INFINITI retailer for
details concerning the particular accessories
with which your vehicle is equipped.
Before driving your vehicle, please read this

WARNING
● Do not ride in a moving vehicle when
the seatback is reclined. This can be
dangerous. The shoulder belt will not
be against your body. In an accident,
you could be thrown into it and receive
neck or other serious injuries. You
could also slide under the lap belt and
receive serious internal injuries.
● The seatback should not be reclined
any more than needed for comfort. Seat
belts are most effective when the passenger sits well back and straight up in
the seat. If the seatback is reclined, the
risk of sliding under the lap belt and
being injured is increased.
CAUTION
When adjusting the seat positions, be
sure not to contact any moving parts to
avoid possible injuries and/or damage.
ARS1152
● For the most effective protection when
the vehicle is in motion, the seat should
be upright. Always sit well back in the
seat with both feet on the floor and
adjust the seat properly. See “Precautions on seat belt usage” later in this
section.
● After adjustment, gently rock in the seat
to make sure it is securely locked.

Operating tips
● The power seat motor has an auto-reset
overload protection circuit. If the motor
stops during operation, wait 30 seconds,
then reactivate the switch.
● Do not operate the power seat switch for a
long period of time when the engine is off.
This will discharge the battery.
See “Automatic drive positioner” in “Pre-driving
checks and adjustments” for automatic drive positioner operation.
The reclining feature allows adjustment of the
seatback for occupants of different sizes for
added comfort and to help obtain proper seat
belt fit. See “Precautions on seat belt usage”later
in this section. Also, the seatback can be reclined
to allow occupants to rest when the vehicle is
stopped and the shift lever is in P (Park) .
