INSTALATION AND POWER CONNECTION
Only use INFACO brand batteries with a s upply volt a ge 48 volt s.
If it is raining, the battery vest must be worn underneath waterproof clothing so that
the battery unit and control box remain dry.
USING THE MACHINE

General safety advice concerni ng the tool
BEWARE! In order to reduce the risk of elect rical discharge, injury and fire during the u s e of electri cal tools,
please observe the following basic safety measures. Read and follow these instructions before using the tool, and
keep these safety ins tructions!

When not in operation, the POWERCOUP PW2 handle and its accessories must be disconnected and stored in
their case.
POWERCOUP PW2 handle must always be disconnected from all power sources for to the
following:
- Servicing.
- Charging the battery
- Maintenance.
- Transport.
- Storage.
Keep all warnings and instructions to hand for future reference.
The term” tool” used in warnings refers to your battery operated tool (with or without a power cord).
1) Work area safety
Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark area s are prone to accidents. Never use th e tool at night
or in poorly lit conditions without s etti ng up extra lighting.
Do not operat e electric tools in explosi ve atmospheres, in the p r es ence of inflammable liquids, gases or dust for
example. Electric tools produce sparks that can ignite dust or s m oke.
Keep children and other people at a distance when using the tool. Distractions can result in the loss of control
over the tool.
2) Electric safety
BEWARE! – The extension poles and rake are made out of carbon – a conductive material. Do not
use near electrical wires or other power sources.
The plugs on the electric tool must be adapted to the base. Never alter the plug in any way. Unaltered plugs and
suitab l e bases reduce the risks of el ectric shocks.
Do not expose tools to rain or damp conditions. Water penetrating inside a tool will increase the risk of electric
shocks.
Do not mistreat the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry, pull or disconnect the tool. Keep the power
cord away from heat sources, lubricants, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or tangled power cords increase
the risk of electric shocks.
Never carry the charger by the cord, and do not pull on the cord to disconnect it from the socket.
3) Safety of persons
When the equipment is in use, always keep your hands well away from the accessory head being used.
Remain vigilant, look at what you are doing and use common sense when operating the tool. Do not use a tool
when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Just one second of distraction when
using a tool can lea d to serious physical injuries.
Wear th e specific rec o mmended personal protection equipment for each accessory.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection.

Safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety footwear, hard hats or ear protection used in the correct
circumstances will reduce physical injuries.
Avoid any unintentional start-ups. Make sure the switch is in the off position before connecting the tool to the
battery block, picking it up or carrying it.
Carrying tools with the finger on the switch, or connecting tools with the switch in the on position is a cause of
accidents.
Do not hurry. Always maintain a suitable position and balance.
This makes it possible to keep the tool under control in unexpected situations.
Wear appropria te clothing. Do not wear loose c lothing or jewellery.
Keep hair, clot hing and gloves away from moving parts.
Loose clothing, jewellery or long hai r can become entangled in moving parts.
4) Use and care of the to o l
Do not force the tool. Use the tool adapted to your application. The tool wil l be more effective and safer when
used at the speed for which it was built.
Do not use the tool if the on-off switch is not in working order. Any tool that cannot be controlled using the
switch is dangero us a nd must be repai r ed.
Disconnect the plug from the tool’s battery block power supply source before making any adjustments, changing
access o r ies or before storing the tool. These p r eventive safety measur es reduce the risk of th e tool starting up
unexpectedly.
Keep tools not b eing used out of the reach of children and do not allow persons having no knowledge of th e tool
or these instructions from using it.
Tools are dangerous in the hands of novice users.
Comply with tool ma intenance. Check that there is no misalignment or ja mming of moving parts, no broken
parts and no other circumstances that might impact the tool’s opera tion. When d amaged, have the tool repaired
before using it. Many accidents are caused by incorrectly maintained tools.
Keep cutting tools sharpened. Correctly serviced cutting tools with sharp cuttin g components are less likely to
jam and are easier to control.
Use the tool, accessories and blades, etc. in compliance with these instructions, taking into account working
conditions an d the task to be carried out.
The use of the tool for operations other than those it was designed for can lead to hazard situations.
5) Maint enance and servicing
Have the tool serviced by an INFACO qualified repair shop and only use INFACO brand spare parts. This will
guarantee that tool safety is maintained.

Do not approach the cutting chain with any part of the body when the tool is r unning. Before starting up the tool,
make sure the cutting chain is not touching anything. One moment of distraction when using the tool can lead to
your clothin g or a body part being hooked to th e cut ting chain.
Always hold the rear tool handle with the right hand and the front handle with left hand. Holding the tool with
this position reversed increases the risk of physical inju r y and should be avoided.
Wear safety eyewear and hearing protection. Additional protective equipment for the head, hands, legs a n d feet
is recommended. Suitable protective clothing will reduce physical injury caused by flying debris or accidental
contact with the cutting chain. N ev er use the t o o l in a tree. Starting up th e to o l in a tree may c ause an accident
leading to physical injury. Always mai ntain a firm footing and on ly us e the tool when standing on a fixed, safe
and level surface. Slippery or unstable sur faces can cause a loss of balance or loss of control of the tool.
When cutting a branch that is under strain, be careful of the risk of a backlash. When the tension in the wood
fibres is released, the branch can spring back and strike the operator and/or push the tool out of control. Be
extremely careful when cuttin g b rush and young shrubs. Fine materials can grip the cutting chain and send them
in your direction in a whiplash movement, or they can make you lose your balance under the effects of tugging.
Hold the tool using the front handle with the tool powered off and kept away from body parts.
When transporting or storing the tool, always fit the chain cover on it. Suitable handling of the tool will reduce
the probability of accidental contact with the moving cutting chain.
Follow the in st ructions for lubrication accessories and chain t ensioning and replacement. A chain that has
incorrec t tension an d lubrication can either snap or increase the risk of rebounds.
Keep the h andles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles are slippery and can cause loss of
control.
Only cut wood. Do not use the tool for purposes for which it was not intended.
For example: do n ot use the tool to cut plastic s, masonry or construction materials other th an wood. The use of
the tool for operations other than those i t was designed for can lead to hazard situations.
WARRANTY CONDITIONS
The POWERCOUP PW2 handle has a warranty for a period of two years against all manufacturing faults and
defects.
This warranty corresponds to normal use of the tool and excludes:
- Damage due to poor maintenance or a lack of maintenance,
- Damage due to inapp r opriate usage,
- Damage due to normal wear and tear,
- Tools which have been dismantled by unauthorized repairers,
- External forces (fire, flooding, lightning, etc.),
- Damage from tool being dropped or from other impact,
- Tools with warranty cards not returned at the time of purchase,
- Tools used with a battery or charger other than those manufactured by INFACO.
INFACO shall not remit payment for any monetary loss incurred for the time the tool is unavailable during
repairs.

All repairs made by a person other than an approved INFACO authorized service provider (ASP) will invalidate
the equipment warranty.

Please note our after-s ales service shipping policy:
- For equipment submitted to us within the scope of the warranty, you pay to send it to us and we pay the return
postage.
- For equipment which is not within its warranty period, you pay to send it to us and the return will be made at
your cost, cash on de livery. We will send you an estimate if the cost of the repair is more than 80 € ex-VAT.
RECOMMANDATIONS

Untidiness in the work area increases the ri sk of accidents.
Take the work area environment into account.
Don’t expose electrical t oo l s to the rain. Don’t use elec trical t o o ls in a humid o r wet environment. Make sure the
work area is well lit. Don’t u se electrical t oo ls if there are flamm able liquids or gases in the vicinity.

Avoid bodily contact with grounded surfaces, such as, for example: battery charger, multiway electrical sockets,
etc.

Don’t allow other people to touch either th e tool or the power cord. Keep ot hers well away from your work a rea.
Store your tools in a safe place.
Tools not in use should be stored in a dry, enclosed place, in their original packaging and out of the reach of
children.
Wear suitable working gear.
Do not wear flowing clothes or jewelry. These could get caught up b y movi ng parts. When working outdoors, it
is recommended that you wear rubber gloves and shoes with non-slip soles. Use a hair net if you have long hair.
Wear protectiv e g ogg les .
Use a mask as well if the work you are doing produces dust or debris.
Take care of the power cord.
Never carry the charger by its power cord and so not pull on the power cord to unplug it. Keep the power cord
away from heat sources, oil or sharp edges.
Take good care of you r too ls.
Regularly check the condition of the power cord and plug, and have them changed by an Authorized Service
Provider (ASP) if they show any signs of damage. Keep the POWERCOUP PW2 material dry and free of oil and
grease.
