Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Impact Quikbox™. This
revolutionary pop-up softbox was designed to be portable and simple to set
up, giving photographers a quality flash diffuser at an affordable price.

Note: The Impact Quikbox is for use with flashes only. It should not be used
with hot lights. Please read these instructions carefully on how to assemble
and break down your new softbox.

Quikbox Assembly Instructions

The Impact Quikbox consists of two main parts: a pre-built, internal rod
softbox that allows for rapid assembly, and a speed ring bracket that allows
for the installation of both flash heads and radio receivers in a variety of
versatile configurations

1. Remove softbox shell from
carry bag and begin unfolding
by pulling panels outward like
a book

2. Rotate softbox so that
larger opening faces toward
you; then spread apart the
opposing panels until softbox
shell pops open into a square­shaped box

3. Hold both speed ring bracket
parts and loosen thumbscrew
C on bracket handle; then
slide circular speed ring into
the bracket handle and tighten
thumbscrew

4. Gently wedge circular speed
ring under the elastic rims
located in back of softbox

5. Rotate the speed ring to
accurately square it up on
softbox shell and ensure
softbox is securely held in
place

6. Mount speed ring bracket
onto light stand or other
supporting device; tighten
thumbscrew A and secure
in place

7. Install inner diffuser by
fastening metal clips found
on smaller diffuser cloth to
elastic loops found on each
corner of softbox interior

8. Install outer diffuser by
attaching white fastener strip
found on bigger diffuser cloth
to black fastener strip found
on softbox interior

Speed Ring Bracket Instructions

Installing Flash Head On Bracket

1. Mount flash shoe directly on
cold shoe adapter found atop
bracket handle and tighten
miniature thumbscrew to
secure

2. Ensure that the flash bulb
extends approximately ½
inch into rectangular center
of speed ring opening;
the desired position can
be achieved by adjusting
thumbscrews B and C

3. Depending on height of flash
head, it may be beneficial to
remove the two disc-shaped
washers found under cold
shoe adapter assembly

4. Do so by unscrewing cold
shoe adapter, removing
washers and screwing cold
shoe adapter back in place

Installing Radio Receiver On Bracket (Optional)

The Impact Quikbox has a unique system that allows for most radio
receivers to be mounted on the speed ring bracket (regardless of whether it
has a male shoe) by incorporating the universal 1/4” 20 screw mount

1. Remove cold shoe adapter
assembly and ensure
universal 1/4” 20 screw is
exposed; mount radio receiver
on top of exposed 1/4” 20
screw

2. Fasten flash head directly
onto cold shoe assembly
found on radio receiver

3. Depending on height of radio
receiver and/or flash head, it
may be beneficial to remove
the two disc-shaped washers
found under cold shoe adapter
assembly for optimal fit

4. When using oversized radio
receivers, a better fit can be
achieved by mounting radio
receiver and flash sideways;
then rotating flash head
forward to ensure a proper
fit inside speed ring bracket
opening

Breaking Down The Quikbox

1. Remove flash head and/or
radio receiver from bracket;
be sure to re-attach any
washers or pieces that may
have been removed

2. Loosen thumbscrew A; then
remove bracket and softbox
assembly from light stand

3. Carefully lift speed ring
bracket away from elastic
rims located in back of
softbox

4. If desired, softbox shell may
be stored with both diffusers
still in place; otherwise,
remove diffuser fabrics
entirely and place inside
carrying case

5. Snap opposing corners of
softbox panels together; then
fold remaining two panels
together as if closing a book
and stow collapsed softbox
shell inside carrying case

6. Hold speed ring bracket and
loosen thumbscrew C to
slide circular ring off bracket
handle; place both parts in the
side pouch of carrying case
and store until next use

One-Year Limited Warranty

This IMPACT product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in
materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from
the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The
warranty provider’s responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely
to repair or replacement, at the provider’s discretion, of any product that fails during normal
use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of
the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has been
discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent
quality and function.

This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident,
alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN,
THE WARRANTY PROVIDER MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES NOR ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This warranty provides you
with specic legal rights, and you may also have additional rights that vary from state to state.

To obtain warranty coverage, contact the Impact Customer Service Department to obtain
a return merchandise authorization (“RMA”) number, and return the defective product to
Impact along with the RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the defective product
is at the purchaser’s own risk and expense.
