Speake r outputs
Some of the se amp lifi ers ar e mult i chan nel am plif ier de sign. Meaning it h as
more than o ne channel of spea ker outputs . I t is equippe d with a larg e bloc k
style t erminal for spe aker con nec tion . Ma ke this c onnecti on c aref ully and
neatly .
Strip yo ur wire bac k and tw ist t he exp osed lead s
and inse rt them int o the bl ock termi nal while
being ca reful tha t ther e is no l oose o r frayed
strand s of wire. Ti ghte n the Allen h ead screw
down on th e term ina l till t he wire is ti ghtly
secure d in place. I f the wi res e ver co me in
contac t with each o ther t he am plif ier will go
into pro tection m ode.
Know you r total ohm l oad befor e you make an y
connec tions.

Instal lation In structi ons
1. Before you s tart , dis connect the n egat ive c abl e fro m the car b atte ry.
Tape up th e end so it is is olat ed fr om the b attery.
2. Run an a ppropri ate gaug e wire fr om the ba ttery to the ampl ifier. P lan this
part of the ins tall ation ca ref ully . Th is c able wil l carry v ery high cur rent. If it
should s hort to the b ody an d it is not pro perly fus ed it could c atch f ire .
3. Connec t the powe r wire t o the ba ttery using a fuse c apable of the
total cu rre nt load of all amp lif iers conn ected. Do n't inst all t he fu se ye t.
Wait unt il the end. L ocat e the f use as c lose as pos sible to th e batt ery .
4. Find t he c losest clea r metal are a to the amp for a g roun d. S and , gr ind or
scrape all pain t a nd und erco ating from the body and screw the gro und
secure ly in place .
It is advisa ble t o test the groun d with an ohmmet er betwee n the g round
cable and the nega tiv e bat tery cable to ins ure a goo d low re sis tanc e
connec tion. Som e alloys us ed in m oder n car s do not offe r the best gr ound.

5. Run the spea ker wir e to the spea kers. It is advi sed that you leav e some
extra wi re at this po int. Y ou can “clea n it up”later .
6. If you hav en' t already d one so, mou nt the a mp no w.
7. Connec t the power a nd gro und to the am plifier .
You shou ld instal l the fu se at t he bat tery only a fter this s tep .
Amplif iers are ge nera lly m ount ed in the hat ch/trun k area o f a car o r SUV, a nd
under or b ehind the s eat of m ost pick up t rucks. Se lect a loca tion t hat w ill
provid e adequat e vent ila tion f or the ampl ifier. Av oid mo unt ing th e amplifi er
with the f ins facin g down . The fins sh ould be fac ing up, eit her ve rti call y or
horizo ntally. S ecur e the a mpli fier with t he screws p rovi ded .

Before s ecuring t he amp lif ier, i nspect th e mountin g loca tio n care fully to en sure
that you d o not drill i nto or d amage any e lectric al, hydra ulic , flu id, or f uel lines .

Input Se ction
Becaus e of t he w ide r ange of h ead unit outpu t co nfig ura tion s al l IM PACT
amplif iers have an adju stable inpu t g ain (sen s). The gain is not a volum e o r a
power lim iting cont rol like a thro ttle . I t make s t he amp more sen siti ve to inp ut
from the stere o. Wit h the ga in up the amp will rea ch ful l outp ut at a lower
volume s etting on the deck. A t hig her gain se ttings the amp also b ecomes mo re
sensit ive to noise fro m the ca r's elec tri cal sys tem . Try to ru n the ga in at the
lowest s etting po ssib le fo r your s ystem.
There is n o correct g ain se tti ng. As
speake rs requir e diff ere nt pow er
demand s to reach th e same o utp ut, th e
gains mo st often ne ed to be u sed t o
compen sate for th ese di ffe renc es. If
you try to s et all the ga ins at h alf w ay you
would pr obably fi nd the s yst em doe sn' t
sound ve ry good. Us ing go od judgme nt
and list ening car eful ly to e ach sp eaker is
still th e best way to t une a sy ste m.
Crosso ver contr ols
A crosso ver is a devi ce tha t rem oves u nwanted f requenc ies fr om a sp eake r or
amplif ier. A twee ter ca n eas ily be d estroye d by bass fre quen cie s if the y are
not filt ered out. L ikew ise a s ubwo ofer will n ot sound na tura l if it i s play ing
midran ge notes. A c ross ove r remo ves these s ounds fro m the sp eak er as yo u
might gu ess.
