Third-generation DAB technology from Imagination
Technologies provides features and functions not seen in
previous generations of DAB products.

EASE OF USE

Perfectly integrated DAB and analogue radio, with station
selection by name on FM as well as DAB. DAB and FM fast
autotuning and manual tuning. Alphabetical DAB and FM
station ordering, as well as ordering by multiplex or
favourite on DAB. 99 presets per band make it even easier
to select your favourite station.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE DAB DESIGN

The PURE DRX-702ES has a high-sensitivity RF tuner
module, ultra high performance 24-bit/192 kHz delta
sigma digital to analogue converters and built-in 4X up­sampling with data interpolation which provides a smoother,
more natural sound. The three levels of Dynamic Range
Control (DRC) enable you to fine-tune dynamic range,
making broadcasts more audible in a noisy environment.

USB CONNECTOR

Now your tuner is future-proofed with USB connectivity,
making the DRX-702ES capable of flash upgrades via your
PC’s USB port, giving you access to future product
enhancements to expand your user interface or receive
additional DAB data services when they become available.

Analogue DAB output boasts optimised PAC-II technology
(Psycho-Acoustic Compensation-II). Developed by PURE
Digital, PAC-II produces a significantly more natural sound
than other digital radio tuners.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

General: DAB/FM/AM radio tuner with full Band III and

L-Band DAB reception capability, for reception of all DAB
broadcasts. Fully compliant with ETS 300 401. Features
PAC II

technology, FM and DAB autotune, analogue stereo
output, optical and coaxial 48 kHz S/PDIF digital output and
RDI digital output. USB port for software upgrades.

Frequency range: DAB Band III (174 - 240 MHz) and
L-Band (1452 - 1490 MHz), FM 87.5 -108 MHz, AM 531 ­1602 kHz.

Integrated DAC: 24-bit 192 kHz stereo DAC (DAB only).

Input connectors: RF F-connector 75 Ohm for DAB aerial,

FM aerial, spring clips for AM loop (aerials supplied). Dual
phono for auxiliary line level audio input (from CD player or
similar) with auto pass-through to output at standby or
power off.

Output connectors: Dual phono for stereo analogue audio
output. Optical Toslink connector for DAB digital S/PDIF
output (IEC958 @ 48 kHz), Coaxial connector for DAB
digital S/PDIF output (IEC958 @ 48 kHz), Optical connector
for DAB digital RDI output. USB connector for future
software upgrades. ¼" headphone socket on front panel.

Controls: Power on/off, autotune, brightness, display,
setup and band buttons. Rotary selection switch.

LED indicators: Front panel indicators for power-on,
DAB/FM/AM mode, standby mode, remote control,
stereo service and secondary service.

DAB performance: Frequency response (limited by
broadcast - DAC capable of higher responses) of 20 Hz to
20 kHz for 48 kHz decode; 20 Hz to 12 kHz for 24 kHz low
sample frequency (LSF) decode. Less than 0.002% THD at
1 kHz. S/N ratio of 103 dB.

FM performance: Sensitivity @ 30 dB SNR: mono 2.5 µV,
stereo 13 µV. THD+N: mono 0.2%, stereo 0.3%. SNR:
mono 74 dB, stereo 68 dB (all measured at 1 kHz).

Remote control: Infrared remote control functions include:
power on/standby, station select, volume (analogue output
only), mute, store and recall of 99 presets, autotune, LCD
display mode, setup, band selection and 8 levels of LCD
display brightness (including off).

Power supply: High-performance, low noise internal
toroidal transformer power supply. 230V AC 50 Hz.

Optional balanced outputs: Neutrik metal-bodied
XLR connectors with hard gold-plated pins. Burr-Brown
balanced output devices. Available pre-fitted or as
a return-to-base upgrade.

Approvals: CE marked. Compliant with the EMC and Low
Voltage Directives (89/336/EEC and 73/23/EEC).

Cables supplied: Stereo phono to stereo phono cable.
