the DRX-601ES,both of which provide high-performance,
affordable access to digital audio broadcast (DAB)
transmissions.A revolution in broadcast audio quality, DAB
digital radio provides superb quality sound,eliminating the
hiss,crackle and fade associated with analogue radio broadcasts.
DAB provides high-detail, digital-quality sound; suppor ts over
60 national, local and digital-only channels; and enables
broadcasters to provide additional text information such as the
station name and track information or a scrolling ticker showing
sports results, news headlines or financial information.
Designed to complement your hi-fi separates system,either
as an additional input source to a hi-fi amplifier or as a
companion to an existing AM/FM radio tuner, the DRX-601E
has a high-sensitivity RF tuner module, high-perfor mance DSP
processor,24-bit 96 kHz stereo DAC, low-noise toroidal power
supply, LCD text display and infrared remote control.The
DRX-601ES shares these features and adds psycho-acoustic
compensation (PAC™) technology, a silver anodised aluminium

Cr ystal-clear DAB sound
The digital audio broadcast (DAB) transmission standard
provides high-quality, interference-free digital audio
without the hiss, crackle and fade that occurs with
traditional analogue FM/AM broadcasts. DAB receivers
are easy to tune, automatically selecting the strongest
regional transmitter,and are virtually immune to the
multipath distortion that affects traditional FM receivers.
Wide range of stations
Up to twice as many stations are available in many areas
as via FM. UK national radio ser vices broadcast digitally
include BBC Radios 1-4, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 5
Live Sports Xtra, BBC World Ser vice, BBC Radio 4
Longwave Service, Classic FM, talkSPORT and Virgin
Radio. In some areas over 40 digital radio stations are
available including local stations such as Heart 106.2,
Jazz FM, Capital Radio and unique-to-digital stations
such as Oneword,Bloomberg and Ministry of Sound.
Unique PACtechnology
The DRX-601ES takes DAB audio quality to even greater
heights with the addition of PAC (psycho-acoustic
compensation) technology. Developed by PURE Digital
after in-depth analysis of the DAB transmission process,
PAC provides an outstandingly natural sound.PAC
technology is not available in other DAB tuners.

Latest DAB features
LCD display shows additional data supplied by the
broadcaster such as the station name and programme
