2. Quick Start Instructions
1. Download the iDevices Connected App from the App Store℠ and launch it from your iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch®.
2. Turn on Bluetooth® on your device under Settings.
3. Separate the iGrill
mini
from its base by holding the base with one hand and
gently pulling the iGrill
mini
upwards with the other hand.
4. On the underside of the iGrill
mini
, remove the battery door by twisting it counter-clockwise. Remove the battery pull tab. Ensure the battery is in place and replace the battery door.
5. Place the iGrill
mini
back into its base.
6. Plug the meat probe into the probe port.
7. Press the iGrill
mini
power button located at the center of the faceplate.
8. Open the iDevices Connected App to connect to your iGrill
mini
.
9. You are ready to use your iGrill
mini

3. Getting Started
3.1 iDevices Connected App
The iDevices Connected App provides all of the functionality and options you’ll need to use your iGrill
mini
. The iDevices Connected App is compatible with the
following devices:
iPad (mini, 3rd & 4th gen)
iPhone (4s, 5, 5c, & 5s)
iPod touch (5th gen)
Please visit the App Store to download the free iDevices Connected App. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’ll have access to links for instructional videos, step-by-step instructions and FAQ’s for troubleshooting
3.2 Battery
To prepare your iGrill
mini
for its first use, follow these steps:
Separate the iGrill
mini
from its base by holding the base with one hand
and gently pulling the iGrill
mini
upwards with the other hand.
On the underside of the iGrill
mini
, remove the battery door by twisting it
counter-clockwise.
Remove the Battery pull tab. Ensure the battery is in place and replace
the battery door.
To replace the iGrill
mini
battery, follow these steps:
Separate the iGrill
mini
from its base by holding the base with one hand
and pulling the iGrill
mini
upwards with the other hand.
On the underside of the iGrill
mini
, rotate the battery door counter­clockwise to remove it. Replace the battery with a coin cell CR2032 battery and refasten the battery door.

3.3 Powering On & Off
To turn on the iGrill
mini
, follow these steps:
Turn the iGrill
mini
on by pressing the button in the center of the faceplate.
The Smart LED will illuminate white and then blink blue while waiting for pairing.
To turn off the iGrill
mini
, follow these steps:
Turn the iGrill
mini
off by holding down the button in the center of the
faceplate for 3 seconds.
The Smart LED will illuminate solid white and will then turn off.
3.4 Connecting
To connect the initial iGrill
mini
, device to your iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch® by
turning on the Bluetooth on your device by following these steps below:
Open Settings
Tap General
Tap Bluetooth
Set Bluetooth to On
While turned on, place your iGrill
mini
next to your Apple device and open the iDevices Connected App. Your device will automatically recognize any available iGrill
mini
devices and display them in the device list. Select your
iGrill
mini
from the list. Your device will automatically pair with the iGrill
mini
and
you are ready to configure your settings and start cooking!
To connect additional iGrill
mini
, devices to your iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch®:
While turned on, place your iGrill
mini
next to your Apple device and open the iDevices Connected App. Select your additional iGrill
mini
from the device
menu. Your Apple device will automatically pair with the additional iGrill
mini
and
you are ready to configure your settings and start cooking!

3.5 Mounting
The iGrill
mini
’s base is magnetic for convenient attachment to a nearby
metal surface.
The iGrill
mini
can be taken out of its base, rotated 180° and placed back
into its base for two different viewing angles.
The iGrill
mini
comes with a magnetic disc that can adhere to any surface
to allow the iGrill
mini
to be mounted. To mount your magnetic disc,
please follow the below steps:
Clean the surface thoroughly where the magnetic disc will be adhered to ensure proper bonding.
Remove the protective film from the adhesive on the magnetic disc.
Adhere the magnetic disc to your desired surface.
Let magnetic disc adhere for at least 6-12 hours before mounting
iGrill

.
Place your iGrill
mini
on the magnetic disc.
3.6 Probe Use
The iGrill
mini
probe should always be inserted into the center of the item
being cooked for an accurate temperature reading.
The iGrill
mini
probe sleeve is for visual identification and cosmetic
purposes only and is not designed for heat safety.
The iGrill
mini
probe wrap allows convenient storage for your probe and is
magnetic so that it can be attached to your iGrill
mini
when not in use.
The iGrill
mini
probe should be cleaned by hand with standard
dishwashing soap and warm water. The iGrill
mini
probe is not dishwasher
safe.
Please be sure to avoid water exposure to the probe’s wiring as well as the area where the probe wiring meets the probe since the iGrill
mini
is not waterproof and damage may result from water exposure. Probes should never be submersed in water.
NOTE: Be sure to route the probe wire where it will not be exposed to flames or temperatures exceeding 500°.

4. Using the iGrill
4.1 Smart LED
The Smart LED allows the iGrill
mini
to display the connected probe temperature reading through the use of color. Below is a list of all of the light combinations you will see on the Smart LED and their associated meanings:
Connection
Solid White: Powering On/Off or reset complete
Solid Blue: Confirms pairing of new device
Blinking Blue: Awaiting pairing or no alarm set
Peak Preset
Solid Green: Initial Temperature
Solid Yellow: Target Temperature – 15° F
Solid Orange: Target Temperature – 5° F
Blinking Red: Target temperature reached
Solid Red: Target temperature reached and alarm acknowledged
Range Preset
Solid Green: Temperature inside range
Blinking Red: Temperature outside range
4.2 Proximity Sensor
The use of Bluetooth Smart allows the iGrill
mini
to sense when a paired device
moves in or out of range. The iGrill
mini
will automatically wake and sleep at the
below distances to conserve power:
Sleep – 30 feet away
Wake – 5 feet away
4.3 Custom & Preset Alarms
Manage Apple device alarms:
Open Settings on your device
Tap “Notification Center”
Choose the iDevices Connected App and make sure to enable
notifications, including “Sounds” and “Alerts”.

NOTE: Make sure the volume settings for your phone are properly set. If your sounds are off or set at a low setting, you may not hear the alarm properly.
Manage iDevices Connected App alarms:
Within the app, tap “Set Temperature Alarm” next to the probe you want to set an alarm for.
Preset Alarms:
The iDevices Connected App offers preset alarms for many types of meats and cooking temperatures. Tapping a preset alarm will set it.
Custom Preset Alarms: Custom preset alarms can be made in two styles, peak and range. Tapping “Peak” or “Range” at the bottom screen will switch between the range types.
Peak: Alarm will sound when probe temperature reaches set peak temperature. Range: Alarm will sound when probe temperature is above the high temperature or below the low temperature.
Creating a custom preset alarm:
Tap the plus icon [+] in the top right corner of the alarm screen
Name your preset
Set temperature(s)
Tap “Done”
NOTE: Your custom preset will be saved in the My Presents section of the alarm screen.
The iDevices Connected App alarms will alert you with a notification when your target temperature has been reached.
4.4 Renaming Probes
A probe can be renamed using the “Rename” icon to the right of the probe name.

4.5 Timer Tool
The timer tool allows users to set up to six timers. An alert will appear when the timer runs out.
Create a new timer:
Under tools tap the “Timer” icon
Tap the plus “[+]” icon to create a new timer
If desired, add a timer title
Set desired time length using scroll wheels
Tap “Start Timer” to start the timer immediately or tap “Done” to save the
timer for future use
4.6 Globe Tool
The globe tool will show other users of the iDevices Connected App. Tapping on a pin will display a user-posted message and picture.
4.7 Graph Tool
The iDevices Connected App’s Graph illustrates the temperature progression over time for your probe as you cook.
Tapping the export icon in the top right will export the graph via email as a PDF or CSV Spreadsheet.
5. Troubleshooting
The following information covers some of the most common troubleshooting issues with the iGrill
mini

5.1 My iGrill
mini
won’t turn on.
If your iGrill
mini
is brand new, please be sure to remove the plastic tab located in the battery compartment so that the battery can come into contact with the power terminals. If this does not resolve the issue or if your iGrill
mini
is not brand
new, please try replacing the battery with a single brand new CR2032 coin cell battery (available at local drugstores in the specialty battery section).

If you are still unable to turn on your iGrill

support team for further assistance.
5.2 I’m having difficulty pairing my iGrill
mini
with my
Apple device.
If you see the iGrill
mini
device in your Bluetooth settings with a "Not Connected"
status, follow these steps:
Tap the blue arrow to the right of the iGrill
mini
device name
Select the option "Forget this Device"
Turn Bluetooth OFF on your device
Completely shut down your device
Remove the iGrill
mini
battery cover and press the reset button down with
a pin until the light ring illuminates white
Power up your device and turn Bluetooth back on
Open the iDevices Connected App and select your iGrill
mini
from the
menu to connect to it
If you do not see the iGrill
mini
device in your Bluetooth settings, please make
sure that the pull-tab has been removed from the iGrill
mini
‘s battery compartment. If this has been done, please contact our customer support for further assistance.
5.3 I’m experiencing a problem with the iDevices Connected App
If you are experiencing a problem with the iDevices Connected App, please try following the steps below to resolve any potential problems on the device-side.
Make sure the iGrill
mini
is paired with the Apple device via Bluetooth and
a temperature probe is plugged into the unit.
Tap the Home button on the device (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch).
From the Home screen, double tap the Home button again. This will
zoom out of the home screen and display any/all previously running apps on the Apple device.
Swipe to locate the “iDevices Connected” App.
Touch the “iDevices Connected” App image and swipe it upward to
close the existing session.
Tap the Home button on the Apple device to close the Multitasking Bar.

Re-open the iDevices Connected App by tapping the app icon on the Home screen.
If you are still experiencing a bug after completing these steps, please contact our customer support team for further assistance.
6. Frequently Asked Questions:
6.1 I don’t have a device with which to pair my iGrill
mini
.
Can I still use it?
The iGrill
mini
does not have a screen to display its temperature readings and requires the use of the iDevices Connected App and a compatible Bluetooth Smart device.
6.2 What should I do if I’m having trouble connecting?
If the first pairing seems to be taking a long time or fails, return to your device’s Bluetooth settings and select the “Not Paired” option next to your iGrill
mini
.
Doing so will display the following screen:
Select “Forget this Device”
Close Settings
Close out of the iDevices Connected App
Reopen the iDevices Connected App
Once your device is connected to your iGrill
mini
, you are ready to start cooking!
6.3 I’m frozen on my home screen when I attempt to enter the iDevices Connected App.
Go to your iPhone/iPad home screen and double-click your home button. Close your open apps by swiping each app towards the top of the device. Make sure to close the iDevices Connected App. This will allow you to re-launch the App correctly.
