SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Danger! When working with heat guns it is vital to follow the following preventive
safety guidelines to avoid the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock and bodily injuries.
Read these instructions attentively before you use the tool.
Keep these instructions in a safe place.
Warning
• Danger! Unplug the tool before opening it, as live components and connections
are exposed.
• The appliance must not be used in damp or wet surroundings.
• Avoid contact with earthed items, e.g. pipes, radiators, cookers or refrigerators.
• Do not use in bathroom or over water.
• Danger of fire and explosion through improper use of heat guns. Beware of
poisonous gases, risk of explosion and ignition. When plastics, lacquers and
similar materials are being processed, toxic, explosive and poisonous gases can
be generated.
• The working space must always be well ventilated.
Caution
• The voltage rating stated on the tool should correspond to the main power voltage.
• Avoid unexpected start-up. Temperature-limit-switch heating off in case of
improper use. Attention! Heating is automatically switched on again after cooling.
• Ensure that the switch is OFF when connecting to the main power supply.
• For personal protection, we strongly recommend the tool be connected to an RCCB
(Residual Current Circuit Breaker) before using.
• The tool must not be operated without supervision.
• Do not use the tool if inflammable gases may be present. Areas behind shuttering,
ceilings and floors and in hollow walls may contain flammable material. These materials
must be checked before using heat gun . Heat may reach materials which are not t
visible. Do not aim the stream of hot air at the same spot for extended periods.
• Cause burns! Do not touch the heat nozzle and adapter when hot as they can cause
burns. Never use the tool as a hair dryer. It gets much hotter than a hairdryer!
• Do not point the hot air flow in the direction of people or animals.
• Keep children at a distance. Do not allow other people to touch the tool or cord, keep
them away from the work area.
• Consider work area environment. Protect tool from damp and wet.
Work area
• Keep your work area clean. Cluttered areas and benches invite injuries.
• Do not wear loose or flammable clothing.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance of all times.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Use only accessories which are indicated in the instructions for use or are recommended by the manufacturer. The use of accessories other than those indicated in the
instruction for use can mean risk of injury.
Operating requirements
• The tool must not be used lying flat nor permanently directed
downwards.
• Ensure that the air inlet openings and the adapter outlet are not
obstructed, as this can lead to excessive heat build-up and thus to
damage to the tool.
• After use put the tool on its stand and allow it to cool down com-
pletely before packing it away.
Application
• The tool must be used only for the applications indicated in the
instructions for use.
Paint stripping
• When removing paint care should be exercised, particularly if the paint contains lead
pigments. Buildings dating from before 1978 may well have been painted with leadcontaining paint which has subsequently been painted over. Before starting work, it is
important to determine whether the paint which you wish to remove contains lead.
This can be determined using a lead test kits or by a professional paint contractor.
• Lead and dust containing lead particles are extremely dangerous. Small
children and pregnant women are particularly endangered and should be kept away
from renovation work in which lead-based paints are being removed.
• When removing lead-containing paints you should ensure that the work space is shut
off from its surroundings. We recommend that a dust-mask should be worn. You
should not smoke, eat or drink in work spaces which may be contaminated by lead.
Do not burn off the paint. The hot air temperature should remain below 840ºF.
Do not misuse the cord
• Do not carry the tool by the cord, and do not use the cord to pull the plug out of the
socket.
• Protect the cord from heat, oil and sharp edges.
• Do not wind the cord around the tool.
• Use only permitted and correspondingly marked extension cords.
• Take care of your tool. Follow the maintenance rules and the instructions for adapter
change.
• Check the plug and cord regularly; if they are damaged have them replaced by a r ecognized service center.
• Check the extension cords regularly and have damaged ones replaced by a electric
specialist.
Inspection after damage
• Before further use of the tool, slightly damaged parts should be carefully checked to
ensure that can fulfil their function correctly and in accordance with requirements.
Damaged tools must be repaired by an authorized service center. Never use a tool if
its switch will not switch on and off.
• Adapters must be fitted firmly and safely to the tool. Check: no hot air must flow into
the tool itself - the tool would be damaged.
• Keep the handles free of oil and grease.
Storage of heat guns
• Heat guns which are not in use should be stored in a dry enclosed place out of the
reach of children.

Shrinking
• Shrinking of shrink tubes for a variety of wiring insulation, sealing, strain relief and
mechanical protection
• In one step, shrinking and soldering of solder sleeves
• Shrinking on packing and postal packets
• Shrink-rapping of electrical components such as condensers, batteries and connectors
Forming
• Forming Acrylic, PVC and polystyrene articles
• Forming of pipes, sheets and profiles
• Forming wet wood (putting into shape and then drying with hot air)
Welding
• Of thermoplastic parts in HD-PE, PP, PPEPDM, ABS, PC, PVC-U. With welding rods it
is possible to repair vehicle parts, ski surfaces, surfboards, plastic boats
• PVC and linolium floor can be repaired with welding rod
• Overlap welding of foils for biotops and swimming-pools
Soldering
• Soldering with tin solder (60% Sn, 40% Pb) and special silver solder
• Desolder of SMD components
• Soldering of cable shoes
• Unsoldering of soldered joints
Paint stripping
• Stripping of all oil and lacquer, even in thick layers, from furniture and panelling, guttering, banisters and windows. Heat the layer of paint until blisters form, then remove
cleanly with a paint knife, paint scraper or wire brush. For windows use glass-protecting adapter
• Remove plastic-plaster with hot air and spatula
Drying
• Drying of color samples, applied fillers, adhesives and polyester putties
• Drying of formed parts
• Drying of building joints before spraying insulation or sealant
Adhesives
• Gluing large surfaces with contact adhesive by warming and lengthening setting time
• Activation of adhesives
• Acceleration of gluing processes by shortening the setting time of 2-component
adhesives.
• Loosing screwed connections which are adhesive-fastened, PVC stickers, e.g. on
commercial and private vehicles
• Fastening or removing of edge-bandings
Thawing
• Thawing iced-up steps, car locks, boot-lids and doors, and water-pipes
• De-frosting refrigerators and deep-freezes (do not heat the plastic walls, as this could
lead to deformation or damage)
Disinfecting
• With hot air at 1112 ºF rabbit hutches, dovecotes etc. are rapidly freed of bacteria and
insect pests
• Destruction of woodworm. Do not overheat the surface of the wood (fire danger!)

Memory Function
Each individual adjustment can be confirmed with and is memorized. Without this
confirmation, the adjustment will be memorized automatically after 10 seconds of
operation.
Increase of the life expectancy
At the end of every use and before switching off, the hot air tool should be cooled down
to approx. 100°C/210°F (COOL DOWN DEVICE).

• Only genuine IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. adapters may be fitted onto the Heat Elite Plus LCD.
• When fitting a adapter, it is strongly recommended to switch off the Heat Elite Plus LCD.
• Attention: Do not touch the adapters, they are hot! Always use pliers!
• Any hot item must be placed on a fire proved surface (example: a metallic sheet) to
avoid danger of fire.
STAND-BY mode / COOL DOWN DEVICE mode
The STAND-BY mode is used to minimize the energy consumption and reduce the noise
level. It is recommended to cool down the Heat Elite Plus LCDat the end of each working
session.

SERVICE AND REPAIR
• Clean the Heat Elite Plus LCD outside and particularly the openings for air intake regularly
•
Repairs may only be performed by persons who have been trained by
IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC.
• A bimetal switch disconnects the main power when overheated. Set the main switch to off
and put the tool on its stand to let it cool down. After approx. 30 minutes, the Heat Elite
Plus LCD will work again
WARRANTY AND SERVICES POLICY
Each unit is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal
use and service for a period of 12 months after the date of purchase. The obligations
of IDEAL under this warranty shall be limited to repairing at the Sycamore, Illinois
manufacturing facility any unit which shall, within the 12 month period, be returned to us
with the transportation charges prepaid, and with our examination shall disclose to our
satisfaction to have been defective. This warranty shall not apply to any model which has
been altered or repaired outside the factory in any way so as to affect its operation nor
which has been subject to misuse, negligence, accident or installed or operated in any
other way than in accordance with our instructions, nor shall this warranty extend to
repairs or replacement made necessary by the use of accessories not recommended by
IDEAL.

Warnung
• Lebensgefahr beim Öffnen des Gerätes, da spannungsführende Komponenten
und Anschlüsse freigelegt werden. Vor dem Öffnen des Gerätes, Netzstecker
aus der Steckdose ziehen.
• Gerät darf nicht in feuchter oder nasser Umgebung benutzt werden.
• Nicht im Bad oder über Wasser einsetzen.

Beim Bearbeiten von Kunststoffen, Lacken und ähnlichen Materialien können
toxische, explosive und giftige Gase auftreten.
• Der Arbeitsraum muss immer gut belüftet werden.
Vorsicht
• Nennspannung, die auf dem Gerät angegeben ist, muss mit der Netzspannung übereinstimmen.
• Vermeiden Sie unbeabsichtigten Anlauf. Schutztemperaturbegrenzer schaltet bei
unsachgemässem Gebrauch Heizung aus. Achtung: schaltet nach deren Abkühlung
selbstständig wieder ein.
• Ver gewissern Sie sich, dass der Schalter beim Anschluss an das Stromnetz ausgeschaltet ist.
• FI-Schalter (Fehlerstromschalter) ist für den Personenschutz beim Einsatz des
Gerätes erforderlich.
• Gerät darf nicht unbeaufsichtigt betrieben werden.
• Benützen Sie das Gerät nicht, wo entzündbare Gase oder Materialien vorhanden
sein könnten. Bereiche hinter Verschalungen, Decken und Böden sowie in Hohlwänden können entzündbare Materialien enthalten. Diese Materialien müssen vor
Gebrauch des Heissluftgerätes überprüft werden. Wärme kann zu brennbaren Mate-
rialien gelangen, die sich ausser Sichtweite befinden. Heissluftstrahl nicht für län-
gere Zeit auf eine Stelle richten.
• Verbrennungsgefahr ! Heizelementrohr und Düse nicht im heissen Zustand berühren.
Gerät nie als Haartrockner verwenden. Es wird viel heisser als ein Haarfön!
• Heissluftstrahl nicht auf Personen oder Tiere richten.
• Halten Sie Kinder fern. Lassen Sie andere Personen nicht das Gerät oder Kabel
berühren, halten Sie sie vom Arbeitsbereich fern.
• Berücksichtigen Sie Umgebungseinflüsse. Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht dem Regen
aus. Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht in einer feuchten Atmosphäre.
Arbeitsplatz
• Halten Sie Ihren Arbeitsbereich in Ordnung. Unordnung erhöht die Unfallgefahr.
• Tragen Sie keine weite oder brennbare Kleidung.
• Vermeiden Sie unnormale Körperhaltungen. Sor gen Sie für sicheren Stand, und halten
Sie jederzeit das Gleichgewicht.

SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
• Benutzen Sie nur Zubehöre, die in der Bedienungsanleitung angegeben oder vom
Hersteller empfohlen werden. Der Gebrauch anderer als der in der Bedienungsanleitung angegebenen Zubehöre kann Verletzungsgefahr bedeuten.
Betriebsbedingungen
• Gerät darf nicht liegend oder dauer nd nach unten betrieben werden.
• Sorgen Sie dafür, dass die Luftansaugöffnungen und der Düsenauslass nicht verdeckt werden, da dies zu übermässigem Hitzestau und
somit zur Beschädigung des Gerätes führen kann.
• Gerät nach Gebrauch auf Geräteablage auflegen und ganz ab-
kühlen lassen, bevor es weggepackt wird.
Anwendung
• Gerät darf nur für die in der Bedienungsanleitung angegebenen
Anwendungen eingesetzt werden.
Entfernen von Farbanstrichen
• Beim Entfernen von Farbanstrichen sollten Sie vorsichtig umgehen, besonders dann,
wenn die Farbe Bleipigmente enthält. Gebäude, die vor 1978 erbaut wurden, wurden
möglicherweise mit bleihaltiger Farbe gestrichen und dann mit zusätzlichen Anstrichen überstrichen. Bevor Sie mit der Arbeit beginnen, ist es wichtig, festzustellen, ob
der Anstrich, den Sie entfernen möchten, Blei enthält. Dies kann mit Hilfe eines Bleitestgerätes oder durch einen Tapezierfachmann festgestellt werden.
• Bleidämpfe und Staub mit Bleipartikeln sind äusserst gefährlich. Kleine Kinder
und schwangere Frauen sind besonders gefährdet und sollten von Renovierungsarbeiten, bei denen Farben auf Bleibasis entfernt werden, ferngehalten werden.
• Beim Entfernen von bleihaltigen Farben sollten Sie sicherstellen, dass der Arbeits-
bereich von der Umgebung abgeschlossen ist. Wir empfehlen das Tragen einer
Staubmaske. In Arbeitsbereichen, die mit Blei kontaminiert sein könnten, sollten Sie
nicht rauchen, essen oder trinken.
• Brennen Sie die Farbe nicht ab. Die Heisslufttemperatur sollte unter 450°C sein.
Zweckentfremden Sie nicht das Kabel.
• Tragen Sie das Gerät nicht am Kabel und benutzen Sie es nicht, um den Stecker aus
der Steckdose zu ziehen.
• Schützen Sie das Kabel vor Hitze, Öl und scharfen Kanten.
• Kabel nicht um das Gerät wickeln.
• Verwenden Sie nur Verlängerungskabel, die zugelassen und entsprechend gekennzeichnet sind.
• Pflegen Sie Ihr Gerät mit Sorgfalt. Befolgen Sie die Wartungsvorschriften und die Hinweise für Düsenwechsel.
• Kontrollieren Sie regelmässig den Stecker und das Kabel, lassen Sie diese bei
Beschädigung von einer autorisierten Servicestelle erneuern.
• Kontrollieren Sie Verlängerungskabel regelmässig und ersetzen Sie beschädigte
durch einen Fachmann.
Kontrolle auf Beschädigung
• Vor weiterem Gebrauch des Gerätes sind leicht beschädigte Teile sorgfältig auf ihre
einwandfreie und bestimmungsgemässe Funktion zu überprüfen. Beschädigte Geräte
müssen durch eine autorisierte Servicestelle repariert werden. Benutzen Sie keine
Geräte, bei denen sich der Schalter nicht ein- und ausschalten lässt.
• Düsen müssen fest und sicher auf dem Gerät montiert werden. Kontrolle: Es darf
keine Heissluft zum Gerät strömen. Geräteschaden!
• Halten Sie Handgriffe trocken und frei von Öl und Fett.
Aufbewahrung der Heissluftgeräte
• Unbenutzte Heissluftgeräte und Zubehöre müssen im trockenen, verschlossenen
Raum und für Kinder nicht erreichbar aufbewahrt werden.
