PLEASE READ YOUR OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The BatterySAVER Plus is a 12 Volt solar powered battery charge maintainer. It helps prevent dead batteries caused by key -off electronic drain, extreme weather effects, and natural voltage losses. The unit will start trickle charging as soon as it is exposed to sufficient daylight. The LED (Light Emiting Diode) will not blink if there is insufficient daylight .
CAREFULLY FOR CORRECT OPERATION.
8ft wire 1.8W -40°F to 176°F 12" x 4" x 1" CLA cable 125mAmps @ 15 Volts -40°C to 80°C 305 x 102 x 25 mm
CONNECTING YOUR BATTERYSAVER PLUS
CONNECTING THROUGH A CIGARETTE LIGHTER SOCKET OR 12V POWER SOCKET
CONNECTION DIRECT TO BATTERY
1. Cut off the cigarette lighter adaptor, strip the end of the wires bare.
2. Connect a 5 Amp inline fuse to the positive (white) wire.
3. Connect the wires to the battery ensuring that you match the black wire to the (-) post of the battery and the white wire to the (+) post of the battery.
IF PERMANENTLY CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY When permanently connected to the battery, the unit will not overcharge the battery of your vehicle or drain it at night, so you may leave it plugged in at all times. You can start and operate your car safely even with the unit plugged in and safely secured.
INDOOR
You may choose to permanently mount the unit to the front or rear dash of your vehicle by using self -tapping screws and the 2 molded mounting brackets provided at the back of the unit. Unless the unit is mounted solidly, it is recommended tha t the unit be stored in a safe location (glove box, underneath seat) when the vehicle is in motion.
OUTDOOR
Important note: The BatterySAVER Plus is not weatherproof. A clear silicone sealant should be applied around the edges where the glass and frame meet as well as on the power output jack in order to protect the unit from moisture, Failure to do so will void the warranty. For outdoor permanent mounting, remember to ensure sufficient length of screws for a solid installation.
1. LED not working: the LED can burn out after a certain time. Please check voltage output of unit with a multi -meter which should read between 17 to 25 volts open circuit in full sunshine. In almost all cases where the LED may have ceased to light up, the solar panel continues to work as it should and continues to trickle charge the battery.
2. The unit appears not to maintain the battery: A - Check that connections are solid. B - Pull out and Plug in again to ensure proper contact. C - Verify that the cigarette lighter (or 12 Volt outlet) socket is electrically active when ignition key is in the OFF position, if not, connect direct to the battery as described above.
WARRANTY
Warning: Warranty will be voided if the unit has been dismantled, repaired or serviced by anyone other than service facilities authorized by ICP or if fault results from accident, misuse, abuse or operation to the contrary to the instructions. A 5 year warranty is given on the power output of the solar panel. This protection gives you assurance that, for at least 5 years, your unit will generate at least 80% of the original power output. This warranty applies to the product from the original purchase date. An original receipt must be retained for proof of purchase. Some states do not allow exclusion or limitation of accidental or consequential losses, so the exclusions may not apply to your purchase. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from one state (or province) to another. Toll free customer service 1-888-427-7652.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1: Will the BatterySAVER PLUS keep my vehicle battery charged?
The BatterySAVER PLUS trickle charger will eliminate dead batteries caused by natural voltage losses and key-off small instrumentation drains. Electronics such as clocks and vehicle alarms add to the natural drain of the battery, even when the ignition is off. The BatterySAVER PLUS compensates for those constant losses by replenishing your battery at a maximum rate of 125mAmps per hour in full sunlight.
Q2: How long will it take for the BatterySAVER PLUS to charge a dead battery?
Depending on battery age, type and condition, the natural rate of loss on a new battery represents a small fraction of one percent per month. The BatterySAVER PLUS is designed to compensate for these losses plus any additional losses due to on board electronic instrumentation such as clocks and alarms. The power generated by the BatterySAVER PLUS is not enough to recharge a dead battery. If you would like to recharge a depleted battery, we suggest that you look at the BatterySAVER PRO15W or larger.
Q3: What types of batteries can I trickle charge? You can trickle charge all types of 12 Volt batteries including automotive batteries, deep cycle (traction) batteries, gel-cell batteries, and heavy-duty (stationary) batteries.
Q4: Can the BatterySAVER PLUS drain my battery at night?
No. All ICP Solar panels are equipped with a built -in diode, which prevents any reverse current.
Q5: Can I overcharge my battery with the BatterySAVER PLUS?
The BatterySAVER PLUS will not overcharge a vehicle battery.
Q6: Can I start my vehicle with the BatterySAVER PLUS connected to the cigarette lighter and/or power outlet?
Yes. The BatterySAVER PLUS can remain connected while the vehicle is operating. As a safety precaution while driving, either store the panel under the seat, or, using the mounting brackets on the back of the panel, securely attach the BatterySAVER PLUS to the dashboard.
Q7: Can I attach the BatterySAVER PLUS directly to the battery?
In situations where the cigarette (or power) socket is inactive while the vehicle is off, it may be necessary to attach the panel directly to the battery. This may be done by: A) Cutting off the cigarette lighter attachment and attaching the stripped wires directly to the battery, Negative to Negative (Black to Black) and Positive to Positive. Then, for safety, install a 3 Amp fuse on the positive wire OR B) If you don't want to cut off the cigarette lighter adapter, just acquire a female cigarette socket extension wired with clamps (available at most hardware stores). Attach this directly to the battery. Plug the male adapter of the BatterySAVER PLUS into the female socket.
Q8: Can the wiring be extended?
You can extend the wiring of our solar chargers another 27 feet (for a Maximum of 35 feet) using 16-gauge wire, without any significant loss of power.
Q9: Can I trickle charge more than one battery at a time with the BatterySAVER PLUS?
The BatterySAVER PLUS may be able to trickle charge more than one of the smaller battery types, such as batteries for; snowmobiles, motorcycles, or ATV's etc. However, it is not designed to maintain more than one automobile battery at a time. For two batteries or more we recommend the BatterySAVER PRO5W to maintain voltage.
