Important safeguards
• Attention: The owner’s manual contains
important operating and maintenance
instructions. For your safety, it is necessary to
refer to the manual.
• Dangerous voltage: Uninsulated
dangerous voltage that may be of sufficient
magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical
shock to persons is present within this product
enclosure.
• Caution: To reduce the risk of electric
shock, do not dismantle the body. Prefer
servicing to qualified service personnel. Do not
use the unit in places where it can be exposed
to water, moisture and dust. Make sure that
pins or other foreign objects do not get inside
the unit; they may cause malfunctions, or
create safety hazards such as electrical shock.
Power supply
Battery operation
• Open the clock/radio battery compartment
cover. Insert 3 x UM-3/AA size batteries (not
included). This is intended for clock and radio
preset memory backup. Please observe correct
battery polarities.
• Open the main battery compartment
cover. Insert 8 x UM-1 size batteries (not
included). This is intended for the unit
operation when it is not powered from the
mains supply. Please observe correct battery
polarities or the set will not work.
• Close the battery compartment cover.
AC operation
• Before the first connecting of the appliance
check that voltage indicated on the rating label
corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
• Plug the corresponding end of cord into
the power socket on the rear of the unit.
• Insert the plug into power supply.
Caution:
• When the set is only used with AC or is
not used for 2 weeks or more, please remove
the batteries, to avoid damage to the set from
leakage of batteries.
• Always switch off the unit when not in use.
• Always unplug the appliance from power
supply, when no use long time.
General operations
Headphone jack
• For private listening, insert 3.5 mm
headphone (not included) into the stereo
headphone jack.
• Adjust volume to the appropriate level as
desired.
• When the stereo headphone jack is
plugged, speaker will disconnect automatically.
Turning on/off
When batteries are inside the unit or it is
connected to AC power supply, the unit is in
standby mode. STANDBY indicator is active in
this mode. Press STANDBY button to turn the
unit on; STANDBY indicator will be disabled.
Clock operation
Set the time while the unit is in standby mode.
• Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button once;
hour digits on the display will blink. Press SKIP/
TUNING or button to set hours.
• Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button again;
minute digits on the display will blink. Press
SKIP/TUNING
• Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ button again to
fix the time.
In case of power failure, the clock will
blink continuously after the electrical current is
resumed. Reset the clock again.

Timer operations
This function enables the CD, memory
card, USB, radio or tape to play and turn off
automatically at the set time every day.
If Tape is selected, PLAY button must
be pressed in advance.

• To set the wake-up time, in clock mode,
press MODE button once; “ON TIME” will be
displayed and “TIMER” will flash continuously.
Set the wake up time as described above in
“Clock operation“.
• To set the Timer-off time, press MODE
button again. “OFF TIME” will be displayed and
“TIMER” will flash continuously. Set the Timer-off
time as described above in “Clock operation“.
• To set the wake-up musical source, press
MODE button again; previous functional
mode (example: TUNER) will be shown on the
display. Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button,
then press SKIP/TUNING
repeatedly to select the desired sound source.
Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button again to
fix the selected musical source.
• To set the wake-up volume level, press
MODE button again; previous volume level (ex.
VOL 20) will be shown on the display. Press
MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button; then press SKIP/
TUNING
the desired volume level.
Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button again to
fix the selected volume level.
• To activate the timer press TIMER/SLEEP
button once; “TIMER” will be displayed.
When the set time comes, the unit will turn
on automatically by playing the preselected
musical source.
• To cancel the Timer function, press
TIMER/SLEEP button again; “TIMER” will
disappear from the display.

Sleep function
This function enables you to go to sleep
while listening to CD, USB, radio or tape at a
preset time period of maximum 90 minutes.
• Turn on the unit and play your desired
musical source.
• When TIMER/SLEEP button is pressed
once, “SLEEP” flashes and “90” minutes sleep
time indicator is displayed.
• To change the sleep time period, press
and hold TIMER/SLEEP button. A sleep time
can be set at an interval from 90 to 10 minutes.
• The power will be automatically turned off
when the sleep time is reached.
• To cancel the sleep function, press TIMER/
SLEEP button again. “SLEEP” will disappear
from the display.
• To turn off the unit press STANDBY button.
Equalizer/Bass boost system
This unit is equipped with 5 preset equalizer
modes: FLAT, JAZZ, ROCK, CLASSIC, and
POP. While listening to the music:
• Select your desired equalizer mode by
pressing EQ/BBS button repeatedly; “FLAT”,
“JAZZ”, “ROCK”, “CLASSIC” or “POP” will be
displayed accordingly.
• Press and hold EQ/BBS button to have
extra bass boost effect, the display will show
“X BAS ON”. Press and hold EQ/BBS button
again to release the bass boost effect, the
display will show “X BAS OFF”.
3D Surround sound function
While listening to the music press
SURROUND ON/OFF button to “ON” position
to enable the 3-dimension surround sound
effect. To cancel the 3-dimension surround
sound effect press SURROUND ON/OFF
button again to “OFF” position.
Sound volume and mute function
• Press VOLUME+/VOLUME- buttons
repeatedly to increase or decrease sound
volume level.
• Press MUTE button to disable the sound.
“MUTE” will be displayed. To resume the sound
press this button again or adjust the volume.
“MUTE” will disappear from the display.
Radio operation
• Press FUNCTION button repeatedly to
select TUNER mode.
• Select your desired broadcasting band
by pressing BAND button. AM of FM will be
displayed.

• Press repeatedly SKIP/TUNING or
button to change the radio frequency step by
step until you find the needed station frequency.
The frequency will be shown on the display. For
automatic station search, press and hold SKIP/
TUNING or button. The unit will search
for the nearest strong signal station.
Antenna
• For FM reception, adjust the telescopic
antenna appropriately to obtain the best
reception on the band selected.
• The AM signals are picked up through the
built-in antenna. The set should be placed to a
proper position for the best reception.
FM stereo/mono reception
In particular when stereo signal is weak
and much noise is received, it is preferable
to receive programs in mono mode. Press
REPEAT/MONO-ST. button to enable or
disable stereo reception mode.
Programming stations
This feature enables you to store 20 preset
stations each for FM and MW (AM) waveband.
• Tune to the station you wish to program.
• Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button.
“MEMORY” flashes and channel indicator “00”
is displayed for about 3 seconds.
• Press PRESET/FOLDER+ or PRESET/
FOLDER- button to select your desired channel
number from 1-20 to store this radio station
into memory.
• Press MEMORY/CLK-ADJ. button again to
save the setting.
• Repeat the above 4 steps until all channels
have been programmed.
You must select a channel number while
“MEMORY” is flashing, otherwise the station
will not be memorized. If “MEMORY” goes
out before you press PRESET/FOLDER+ or
PRESET/FOLDER- button, repeat the 4 steps.
Calling memorized stations
To recall stations 1-20 of any band, select
the band and press repeatedly PRESET/
FOLDER+ or PRESET/FOLDER- button to
select the corresponding station number.
This unit will maintain stations in
memory as long as the unit is plugged into an
AC power supply or loaded in backup batteries
into the clock/radio battery compartment. If
unloading the backup batteries or the unit is
unplugged, the preset station memories will be
lost. They must be programmed again when
power is restored.
Disc operations
Insertion and removal of discs
• Pull up the disc compartment cover. Place
a disc into the compartment with the label-side
(printed side of disc) facing upwards. When the
disc has been placed onto the center spindle,
gently push the CD-cover down until it locks
shut. The disc is now ready to be played.
• When opening the CD-cover, always
ensure the disc is not in motion (not spinning).
Always press STOP button to stop the disc
spinning first.
• To remove the disc, follow the same
procedure as described above, except to
remove the disc instead of inserting it into the
compartment.
• If the CD-cover is open, “OPEN“ will be
displayed.
Always close the CD-cover when not in
use to prevent it from dust. Do not leave the
disc in the compartment when it is not in use.
Important: Please make sure to always fold
down the handle before opening the CD-cover.
Loading disc
• Put a disc into the CD compartment and
close the CD door.
• Press repeatedly FUNCTION button to
select CD mode.
• The display will show the total number of
tracks and the total disc time.
