Guidelines and Operating Instructions
To c ontrol your exposure and e nsure c omplianc e with the
occ upational/controlled e nvironmental e xposure limits, a lways adhe re to the
following proc edure s.
Guidelines:
l Do not remove the RF Exposure Label from the device.
l User awa reness instructions should a ccompa ny device when
transfe rre d to other users.
l Do not use this devic e if the ope rational r equirements described here in
are not met.
Oper ating Instruc tions:
l Tra nsmit no more than the ra ted duty factor of 50% of the time. To
transmit (ta lk), pre ss the Push-to-Talk (PTT) key. To rece ive c alls,
rele ase the PTTke y. Transmitting 50% of the time, or less, is importa nt
bec ause the radio genera tes mea surable RFe nergy only when
transmitting (in ter ms of me asuring f or standa rds complianc e).
l Kee p the radio unit a t least 2.5 cm a way from the face . Ke eping the
radio at the proper distance is important a s RF exposure dec rease s with
distance from the antenna . The antenna should be kept awa y fr om the
fac e a nd eye s.

l Whe n worn on the body, always place the ra dio in an approve d holder,
holster, c ase, or body harness or by use of the corr ect clip for this
product. Use of non-appr oved a cce ssories may result in e xposure le vels
which excee d the FCC's occ upational/controlled environmental RF

l Use of non-a pproved antennas, batteries, a nd accessor ies ca uses the
radio to exce ed the FCCRF e xposure guide lines.
