FCC RF EXPOSURE COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR OCCUPATIONAL USE
ONLY
◇ The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), with its action in General
Docket 93—62,November 7,1997,has adopted a safety standard for human
exposure to Radio Frequency (RF) electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC
regulated equipment. HYT subscribes to the same safety standard for the use of
its products. Proper operation of this radio will result in user exposure far below
the Occupational Safety and Health Act(OSHA) AND federal Communications
Commission limits.
◇
This radio is NOT approved for use by the general population in an uncontrolled
environment. This radio is restricted to occupational use, work related operations
only where radio operator muse have the knowledge to control the user’s
exposure conditions for satisfying the higher exposure limit allowed for
occupational use.
◇
When transmitting, hold the radio in a vertical position with its microphone 2
inches (5 cm) away from your mouth. The radio is transmitting when the red LED
on the front of the radio is illuminated. You can cause the radio to transmit by
pressing the PTT bar on the radio.
◇ DO NOT transmit for more than 50% of total radio use time 50% duty cycle).
Transmitting more than 50% of the time can cause FCC RF exposure compliance
requirements to be exceeded. These are required operating configurations for
meeting FCC RF exposure compliance. Failure to observe these restrictions
mean violation.
◇ This equipment complies with the FCC RF Exposure Limits for controlled
environments.

User Safety Information
READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION
BEFORE USING YOUR HYT PORTABLE TWO-WAY RADIO.
◇ Only qualified technicians are allowed to maintain this product.
◇
To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or compatibility conflicts, turn off your
radio in any place where posted notices instruct you to do so. Hospitals or health
care facilities may be using equipment that is sensitive to external RF energy.
When on aircraft, turn off your radio when airline crew instruct you to do so.
◇ When in vehicles with an airbag, do not place a portable radio in the area over an
airbag or in the airbag deployment area.
◇ Turn off your radio prior to entering any area with a potentially explosive
atmosphere. Do not remove, install, or charge batteries in such areas.
◇
To avoid possible interference with blasting operations, turn off your radio when
you are near electrical blasting caps.
◇
Do not use any portable radio that has a damaged antenna. If a damaged
antenna comes into contact with your skin, a minor burn may result.
◇ Do not expose the radio in direct sunlight for a long time nor place it close to a
heating source.
◇ When transmitting with a portable radio, hold the radio in a vertical position with
its microphone about 5 centimeters away from your mouth.
◇
If you wear a portable two-way radio on your body, ensure that the antenna is at
least 2.5 centimeters from your body when transmitting.
◇
The maximum SAR value is 2.180mW/g.

Thank you for your use of HYT portable two-way radio. Before use, you are recommended
to inspect the product as follows.
First check the shipping carton for any signs of damage. If any damage has occurred,
please contact your dealer immediately. Confirm the supplied product against the packing
slip to assure accuracy.
