The general rule of thumb is to install the unit on the
cold feed pipe to where the water is heated. However,
due to the diverse range of possible applications, please
contact your
Hydropath representative for more information.

Pass the wrap through the slots in
the xing plate.

Clip on the lower section and remove the split pin.
Plug the cable into the unit and connect the
transformer to the mains supply.
The red light should glow brightly

Attach the top section of the unit to
the pipe by attaching the tie wrap.

To remove the unit from the pipe, replace the split
pin. Firmly grip the upper section just above the join
of the lower section, and slide the lower section o.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The red light shows that the signal is being
transmitted into the water - it should be bright. If this
is not the case check the following:
1. The split pin should be removed.
– If it is not, remove!
2. The mains supply should be ‘ON’.
– Check that the power supply is fully plugged into
both the mains and into the unit itself.
3. The unit might be tted in an electrical loop.
This is when the unit is tted in a pipework loop
or where there is earth bonding on either side of
the unit.
If the unit is tted in a loop, move the unit to a
location outside the loop. To remove the unit from the
pipe, re-insert the split pin.
A quick test to see if the unit is in a loop is to remove
the unit from the pipe, reassemble o the pipe, and
see if the light becomes brighter.

La luz roja indica que la señal está siendo transmitida a
través del agua. La luz debe estar encendida y si esto no

S38 for the prevention of limescale build-up and the
removal of existing limescale.
The S38 is designed for a multitude of heavy
domestic and light commercial applications and
appliances where limescale might otherwise
build up quickly, reducing eciency and causing
equipment break down.
The S38 is easy to install. It clips around pipes of up
to 38mm OD without plumbing or cutting the pipe,
making it ideal for retro-t. It is suitable for all types
of pipe material and works independent of ow rate.

Should any fault occur during the rst three years
of operation it will be replaced or repaired
free of charge.
Do not attempt to carry out any unauthorised
repair as this will invalidate the guarantee.
Retain the proof of purchase and contact the
supplier or place where the unit was purchased.
This guarantee does not aect the consumer’s
statutory rights and does not include the cost
of carriage.
Hydropath Holdings Ltd does not accept any
responsibility for water leaks that may occur by
the removal of limescale or for any losses arising
from the use of its water conditioners.
This guarantee does not cover damage due to
unstable mains power. If your country’s supply is
subject to instabilities a surge protection device
should be tted. This three year limited guarantee
is not valid without a surge protection device of
adequate quality to protect components.
The Hydropath warranty and guarantee is
invalidated if a Hydropath unit has been bought
through an unauthorised reseller. For information on
authorised Hydropath Appointed Resellers, please
contact the Hydropath Sales Oce.
