Thank you for purchasing the Scirocco convector heater. The SC2000Y and SC2000YM standard
convectors come complete with thermostat and three heat settings; the SC2000YMT model also includes a 24hr timer. The Scirocco convector heater is ideal for portable heating applications in the home and office environment. Please read and understand these instructions before commencing assembly and use, and leave them with the user when assembly is complete.
1. Important safety points
Only connect the unit to a single-phase supply with a mains voltage as specified
on the rating plate.
Do not carry the appliance by the supply cord.
The supply cord cannot be replaced by the user. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be returned to the manufacturer or an authorised service agent for replacement.
Always keep the outlet and inlet grilles clean.
Do not cover the inlet or outlet as it may cause overheating.
Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
2. Installation
Do not use the heater on a carpet with a deep pile.
Do not locate beneath a shelf or similar protrusion.
Do not position near any combustible materials, curtains or other furnishings.
The supplied feet must be fitted prior to operation.
Assembly
Holes are provided at the base of the heater.
Select the two holes (on opposite corners) as shown in the diagram.
Align the holes in the feet with those on the
base of the heater and attach using the small self-tapping screws provided.

This heater is intended solely as a portable appliance; only operate using the power cord and 13 amp plug supplied.
If the plug needs changing, make the connections as:
Brown / Red: L
Blue / Black: N
Green / Yellow: E
4. Operation
Ensure the supply cable is fully uncoiled when in use.
Ensure the supply cable is not in contact with the main body of the heater during operation as it may become very hot.
To turn on the appliance, select the desired power setting.
1 = 750W 2 = 1250W 1&2 = 2000W
Turn the thermostat to max (fully clockwise). When
the
room reaches the desired comfort level, adjust the thermostat down (anti-clockwise) until a click is heard and the lights on the power switches turn off. The heater will now maintain the current temperature. Due to the mechanical nature of the thermostat, temperature levels may vary by a few degrees on each heating cycle.
It is advised the lowest adequate heat setting is
selected to maintain the desired level of comfort.

To set the current time on the 24hr segment timer, twist the outer ring until the
pointer is aligned with the correct time.
If the heater is unplugged the timer will stop keeping time and it must be set again.
The slide switch on the timer offers three settings:
I = On permanently (non-timed). Clock = Timer regulated operation. O = Off permanently (non-timed).
To set the times of operation, pull out each segment for ON or push back in for OFF.
Each segment represents 15 minute slots.

5. Maintenance
Always isolate the appliance from the power supply prior to the commencement of any maintenance.
Do not use abrasive chemicals or materials.
Clean the exterior with a damp cloth.
Remove debris from the inlet and outlet at regular intervals using a soft brush
or vacuum cleaner.

7. Guarantee and service policy
This product is guaranteed against faulty materials and manufacture for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Hyco will in its sole discretion replace, repair or refund any faulty unit. Incorrect installation and failure to follow correct operating instructions are excluded. Consequential costs such as labour charges or damage to surroundings are expressly excluded.

At the end of its working life this equipment must not be disposed of as household waste. It must be taken to a local authority waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of electrical and electronic equipment separately enables its components to be recovered and recycled to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. In order to underline the duty to dispose of this equipment separately, the product is marked with a crossed out dustbin.
