INSTALLATION
1) Before beginning installation, check factory positioning of jack and jack tools. If Storage Box will
block access to these items when installed, remove them before installing Storage Box. These items may be stored in your Storage Box once installation is completed.
2) Remove Storage Box from packaging. Check to insure you have received all the above listed Package Contents and that no damage has occurred during shipping.
3) Position Storage Box top side down, placing it on a flat, non-marring surface. Remove shipping blocks and Channel Iron from bottom of drawer using Phillips Head Screwdriver. Removing block will allow drawer to slide out so use caution and avoid tilting Drawer Unit.
4) Turn Drawer Unit back over (right side up and laying flat on a non-marring surface) and extend the drawer to the full open position.
5) Remove Detent Pin from each drawer slide by applying downward pressure on Detent Pin (see note #1). Detent Pins will be re-inserted later so do not dispose of them.
6) With drawer removed from the Storage Box, stand the drawer vertically on its back wall (once again on a non-marring surface). Using a 1/8” Allen Wrench and 5/16” End Wrench, remove the two 10-32 flathead bolts and nuts from handle installation area. Note that there are spacers (thick washers) located between the front and rear extrusions that make up the drawer face. Should the spacers move out of position when the bolts are removed, reposition them before completing handle installation. Repositioning a spacer that has fallen out is easily done by resting the spacer on your finger and raising the spacer up into the handle opening from the inside of the drawer. To avoid the spacer falling out do not tip drawer when handle bolts are removed.

7) Remove 3/8”-24 lock nut, cam latch and spacer from Handle Assembly. Align handle with holes (shank will pass through opening in drawer) and re-install the 10-32 flathead bolts/nuts using 1/8” Allen Wrench. On the inside of the drawer, re-install the spacer, cam latch and 3/8”-24 lock nut on handle shank, tighten nut only finger tight. Turn handle and note the position of the cam latch. The cam latch should be oriented on handle shank so that it will secure drawer unit when handle is horizontal on drawer (see note #2).
8). Remove 3rd row seat from vehicle and fold second row seats forward.
9) Remove Access Panel from rear or Storage Box using 1/8” Allen Wrench and carefully slide drawer case into cargo area.
10) Insert one (1) of the 3/8” X 3_” Hex Bolts through each end of the two (2) pieces of channel iron (4 bolts total). Screw a Nut Plate onto each of the 4 bolts a few turns (see note #3).
11) Position one of the Channel Iron pieces over the front set of 3rd seat mounting rods. Position the remaining Channel Iron piece over the rear set of 3rd seat mounting rods.
12) Insert the remaining 3/8” X 3_” Hex Bolts through the remaining 4 holes, threading them into Nut Plates. The Nut Plates should be positioned so that they will be pulled against 3rd seat mounting rod when bolts are tightened.
13) Position Storage Box so it is centered side-to-side and also so that it is far enough towards the second seat that the hatch door can close without hitting the handle of the box.
14) Position the four (4) 4” pieces of strap so that one piece is centered under each end of the two pieces of Channel Iron (see note 4).
15) Place one of the 2” X 2_” Plates under the center of each piece of Channel Iron.
16) Evenly tighten all bolts; do not over tighten.
17) Guide drawer back into drawer slides and re-insert detent pins.
18) Replace Access Panel.
19) Install Drawer Liner (foam) into drawer.
20) Install Cargo Liner by first centering liner on top of Drawer Unit. Then, insert the Cargo Liner Retention Block into the recess molded into the cargo liner. Using the Phillips Head Screwdriver, install the three #8 X 1-1/4” Stainless Steel Wood Screws through the holes in the Retention Block and into the top of the Storage Box (see note #5). Take care to make sure the liner is center before attaching.
21) Your Storage Box should be treated as you would the exterior of your vehicle. Wash with gentle soap and water and rinse well. The easiest way to clean the drawer liner or cargo liner is with a damp cloth or sponge. If using a cleaner, 409® or Glass Plus® work well. The use or Armor All®, Son-of-a-Gun® or similar items is discouraged as the products make the liner slick.
22) Your Husky Storage Box comes with a limited one-year warranty. Winfield Consumer Products warrants its SUV Storage Box to be free from defects in material and workmanship of the product for one year, from the date of purchase, with proof of purchase.
